What effect does that special display of snapdragons have if they are broken?   Is it just a nasty smell and a depletion of needs.    I just wondered if maybe Don is reacting to something like that in the store.  If the smell is bad enough it might make a simmie sick.

All I can tell you Veilchen is NeptuneSuzy is one of the most popular artists at TSR for her creations.    I have downloaded some of her hair but I haven't loaded it into the game yet.    I'm busy trying things out in OFB first.

Has no one else noticed the (in memoriam) to Dizzy on Pescado's new hacks?

Sorry for your (our) loss Pescado.

 From the Prima Guide

Real estate can be sold Sim to Sim by placing deed objects on a lot and marking them for sale.   Sims browse the deed like any other item ( though the decision will take quite a while and require considerable and effective sales intervention) then purchase the deed at a cash register.
Unlike regular objects, you must approve the transfer before the deed is finally sold.
Thus, one could set up a real estate office that deals solely in deeds.    Such a business would require a large amount of cash, since every deed for sale must first be purchased at it's market price (the owner of the real estate office would be the owner of the deeds)

Yes, you can repair the toy robots.    I just ask the simmie who constructed it to repair it.   You can't get your simmie to take it off the shelf.   You have to go into buy mode and place it on the crafting bench or the floor.    Then click on the toy robot with the simmie active who has the badges for robot making.  The menu will come up to play or repair.    Then I just put it back into their inventory.

LOL Jysudo.     I haven't had much play time with OFB yet.    Do you actually get the choice to make an evil kite?   Or is that one that actually has something wrong with it?     My simmie has made kites and has the second level badge.    No one has actually flown one of the kites yet though.
59  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Request: Talent Badge training progress bar .... Please? :) on: 2006 March 07, 03:28:34

Yes, you are right Gali.  The toy robots come with the robot crafting station.   The toy robots are what you make while earning the bronze badge.    And the first ones can spark and smoke.    It's actually quite funny to watch an adult trying to play with one.     Anyone else notice the adults can all play with the new children's toys that are crafted in OFB?
60  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Request: Talent Badge training progress bar .... Please? :) on: 2006 March 07, 03:08:29

But be careful of the toy robots you make when you are earning the first badge.   If you put them out of the inventory onto a shop shelf to sell, some of them malfunction and start to spark and emit smoke.    If anyone besides a person who can repair them touches them they get a shock and then act silly for a bit.  The same thing will happen if you let you kiddie simmies play with them.   The higher the badge, the better quality of toys I guess.    I wonder if the malfunctioning toy would start a fire if you didn't notice what it was doing and just left it on the shelf?

Thanks Bluesoup.     I hadn't discovered that one yet.

Thanks for that Motoki.   I did the same thing after installing OFB.    I wanted the fixes for the terrain paints and feeding the toddlers smart milk in the high chairs.   I wasn't sure that OFB updated them.    When the ep installed it said my game was up to date and I know I didn't put either of the NL patches in.
63  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's your second and third impression of OFB? on: 2006 March 05, 06:32:06
That's one reason I haven't played very much.   I set up a new custom hood that I can delete once I get the hang of the new ep.    Only problem is I haven't had time to put houses on lots or make a few new simmies yet.   I'm a little too attached to my other neighbourhood pixel people to screw their neighbourhood up.     And knowing me I probably will.

Welcome to the club Wolfee.   chuckle    I bought the guide and I haven't had much chance to play my game yet.

The guide says the employees just wander around satisfying their own needs and enjoying themselves if you don't assign them a task.  There is an Assign.......interaction menu which you use to direct an employee to perform basic tasks.   I haven't done this yet, but it looks like it is in the upper right hand corner of the playing screen.   You probably either have to click on the employee to bring it up or the object you want them to use.     You can assign employees to a service job by using the particular objects Assign job.......menu.    Specify which sim you want to man the object and the desired service begins.   When employees return to work after being sent home, they retain their job assignments from the previous day and will head directly to those posts unless reassigned.

As far as customers buying   Customer loyalty, the stores business rank, and the simmies shopping need are all at play.  Customers with a large browsing bar head start are going to be the easiest to sell to.  I think you have to get the store employee to do a sales social.   They need to talk to them.   Presumably when you do this you will get another menu come up with different choices.    I'm not sure about that yet because I haven't actually played yet.

What really creeps me out is when they turn right around and seem to be looking at me.    The look on thier faces scream  "You want me to do What?"
66  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Post problems you've noticed, on: 2006 March 05, 05:04:13
I'm wondering if the other business owners can take advantage of having some of the snapdragon bouquets
in their stores?      If they give a boost to all the motives except energy, wouldn't the employees work longer without taking breaks?     I haven't got this far in my game yet to see if this is even possible.     The owner of the business would have to buy them and put them in his inventory, then maybe put them for decoration in their business.
67  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Post problems you've noticed, on: 2006 March 05, 04:11:51

Aussieone is your simmie still working at the store with the employees?   If you are running the business using a manager and not working in the store, the cash you make goes down.    I will have to look that up in the guide to see exactly what it says.

The other thing that shows how well you are doing is the Cash Tracker.  The tool is used to view the business's financial history.  If the business brought in more money than it spent, the indicator will be above the line and green.   If the business spent more money than it made, the indicator will be below the line and red.

edit   The employee is paid every hour and deducted from the owners funds

Are you using custom eyes?    I think they have always moved but some of the custom eyes make it a lot more obvious.

The Prima Guide says if the Sim owns or visits an unowned community lot with a crafting object (toy bench, robot station, or florist bench) any time they spend working on it counts towards the corresponding badge.

I'm not surprised the comm skilling hack doesn't work.    They have obviously changed some of the code to incorporate the crafting benches.

Aren't you cold?    Maybe it means something else where you live, but here it means skin.

  Thanks for the chuckle
72  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OFB people - can you sell on: 2006 March 03, 22:26:46

You can't sell any Aspiration, Career, or Date Reward objects.  (Prima Guide)

73  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's your first impression of OFB? on: 2006 March 03, 22:11:38

I can't confirm for sure, but my Prima Guide says

Crafted flowers are decorative objects just like any other plant you'd find in the Buy mode catalogue; their sole function is to raise the environment score.   The higher the required talent badge level and the higher the materials cost, the greater the effect.    If the crafting fails however, it will do the opposite.

The snapdragon bouquet requires the craft badge level of gold to make.  If sims view this bouquet, they will receive a boost to all of their needs.    If the bouquet is "broken", the viewing sims gets a reduction in ALL needs and a nasty odour.
74  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: *Squeal like a little girl* - new toddler mirror on: 2006 March 03, 19:21:49

There are two functions to the new toddler mirror on MTS2.    One is to change appearance, the other function is to work on Body points.    It just gives us another choice rather than the Charisma rabbit, etc etc

I have loaded OFB but I haven't played at all yet.    I'm still trying to get the mods I need and make sure the ones I download are okay for the new ep.

Lots of new things to learn in this new ep.    It looks very promising.
75  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: FFS OFB Compatibility List on: 2006 March 03, 16:49:19

Ancient Sim, I know you don't use the Insim.    But apparently it still works with OFB installed.    The Insim allows you to fix aging problems, so if you had to you could use it to fix aging problems until they get
SimPe updated.
