51  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: New Build of awsome mod causes my game to crash to desktop. NOT THE DON"T RE on: 2009 July 31, 16:22:20
Out of curiosity why are so many people using that script error thing?

I had it in for a long time because it was the only way to stop the boot/voodoo crash. I took it out when I installed the newest AM and EA patch because I had seen others say that helped them with problems. I didn't have any problems, it was a preemptive piece of voodoo on my part. I now use 3booter and will continue to do so as when it does the voodoo crash 3booter takes care of it.

Overall though I have had no trouble with the game post EA patch with the compatible AM. I'm glad I'm not having trouble.

You can't run newest AM without patching as it is patch compatible - this has been covered extensively in the new bug thread.

Yeah I just found the thread and was about to edit with a "D'oh!". Thanks anyway.
54  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Install 1.3 update or not? on: 2009 July 29, 15:09:10
Pescado,

Last patch you supplied links in the Awesome Mod download thread to non-launcher patches. Would you consider doing the same for 1.3?

This question should be in "The Horror" as it has nothing to do with Awesome Mod.

I would love if someone just added nipples, pubes and body hair to maxis skins.

This. For the love of all the little kittens could someone just do this?

Edited to add: I completely agree with chaos's comment below this one.

I would love reviews as well from people who have them in game.
59  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 July 16, 16:52:02
It only moves from one sim to the next that are already showing on the left.
Keep hitting SPACE. SPACE just toggles down the line. Eventually you will get to her. Now, you aren't going to see her icon on the far left. You will see her below, with all her widget panels. The fastest way I've found is to click on the sim icon shown on the top left and hit SPACE once.

I concur I have a Sim family that has two people not shown in icons along the left hand side of the screen but I can control them just fine. I just select the top shown Sim and hit space - tell that hidden Sim what to do and hit space again to direct the second hidden Sim. It's a bit of a pain but not impossible.

I am, however, very glad that I was not assassinated by the "Grammar Police".  I lurked for a long time before posting, having seen what happens to some people.  I think you are all wonderful.  I like being part of this.  THANK YOU!

All that lurking and you still triple posted? There is an edit button for a reason.

I hope that anti-censor mod from MTS works along with new patch.

It does on my legit copy with Awesome Mod & other tunings from Pudding Factory.

I have debug commands disabled using the configuration tool, and yet when I'm in the game, I still have the debug commands available.  I can shift click on a Sim and get all the options, I can drag up and down their mood bars etc.  I know I didn't enable debug in the configuration, since I don't want this stuff, it makes it too easy to cheat if it's just...there.  Does anyone know why this stuff would still be enabled and how to shut it off permanently?

This.

I would like to know how to shut it off for good as well.
63  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 June 27, 20:25:31
This is answered in the Awesome Mod thread:

1.  God's Chosen People
Control-Clicking a sim/house will offer the option to "Make Sacred" or
"Remove Sacred", giving that household or sim immunity to StoryProgression
and other assorted random toadings. The Chosen receive a gold halo on
their house and on their tracking tags when tracked on radar. You may
switch instantly between the Chosen household with CRTL-RClick if
the "Supreme Commander" playmode is enabled.

I'm a bit of a freak and use a tablet for everything(this one) it does have a touch ring on it that I use to zoom in and out so I have the functionality without an actual mouse with a wheel.

So I may have only answered "No" to toss a wrench in the works but you did ask.

Latest build gives me CTD during loading screen for the very first time ever - deleting cache files & adding the enablescripterror.package to the Mod folder allows run but looks like I'll have to do it everytime as subsequent starts CTD.

Whatever you changed this time(last build Jun15 6:54am) doesn't like my computer.
67  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Important notice from the GRAMMAR POLICE. Plz read. This means you. on: 2009 June 10, 12:05:27
In my day, if you received quite a few Fs on your report card, you were held back, but that's no longer true.  It has more to do with schools trying to push kids ahead even though they're barely grasping what they're learning because of the No Child Left Behind Act.

I have to comment here as I think No Child Left Behind is American and I am in Canada. My son got all Rs(It's the new F Roll Eyes) on his first grade one report card. I met with my school's principal and my son's teacher about holding him back to let him have another stab at grade one since he just wasn't absorbing the information. I was told then that the main reason they push kids ahead(in Canada anyway) is due to social reasons rather than academic ones. I thought that was pretty lame but I would have had to fight my regional board of education to get them to hold him back so I let them put him up with his classmates.

In my school system if your child is identified as learning delayed they will set up an individual education plan so although he is in with his same age classmates he's being taught at his level and being given tools to learn how to learn and work with the faulting wiring in his head rather than trying to learn in a way he is failing at. Not the best solution but it works and he seems happy to go to school even though he is not quite as far along in some areas as his classmates.

69  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / The music, it must die! on: 2009 June 02, 23:02:40
Game all installed and stuff I went into options to do the deal I've always done; Turn off all the music in build, buy and CAS modes. However there is no option to turn it off!

I am non-awesome. I searched for music on here and found nothing. What files do I have to delete to make the music stop for everything but the stereo?
70  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 26, 14:16:24
I'll agree with daisywenham, even EA can't possibly be that stupid ... (wonders happen everyday though)

If that Bug is still in the Final, which it probably is according to the Tests of the Razor Version, and EA doesn't fix it with the upcoming Patch, which apparently will get released on the games release, THEN I will have lost all faith in them.

Oh, yes because your "faith" is so very important to the corporation that is EA.  Roll Eyes

Speaking of cheats. Is there a consolidated list out there of what does and doesn't work atm?

It may be way outdated but Snooty has a list up - Right Here
72  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it on: 2009 May 19, 11:42:02
I have a few questions for those that have the game:

I plan on upgrading my computer this week. My system currently has: 2 processors running - Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6320 @ 1.86GHz, 2.0 GB RAM, Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (Build Service Pack 32600), NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT (GeForce 8600 GT) with 256 MB of video RAM, and 183.8 GB free on my hard drive. I'm adding a GB of RAM to bring me up to 3 GB of RAM and max out my useful RAM under XP but what I am really looking for is video card recommendations since I've heard it's not just video RAM I should be looking at.

Does any modder have a guess as to when a blur remover will be available? At this point I can see that will be my biggest annoyance.

My last question involves game play: While the active Sim family is busy with other things(at work, asleep, working through a bunch of things you've told them to do) can you take the camera and go wander around the Hood? If you do is there stuff going on or does stuff only happen on comm lots when your active Sim is there? I like the idea of being able to spy on, take pictures of and make up stuff about what the other Sims are doing while my playable Sim is otherwise occupied(and boring).
73  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Computer not powering up right ... on: 2009 February 16, 17:32:01
I will open it and check connections - the system is a custom build from a friend of my husband's, so yeah built from parts Smiley

Thank you both very much for the replies - the shop we normally deal with and have bought two systems(they build them) from so far has some reasonable basic systems(no keyboard/monitor/mouse) for in the $500 range that I will have to look into getting - it's almost time to get them separate computers like everyone else in the house.

You all were so ever helpful the last time I had computer issues(random shutdowns - turned out to be the powersupply) that I thought I would ask here again.

The same computer that was randomly shutting down on me before is not not powering up correctly - basically it 1/2 powers up(I can hear the fans running but that's all it does). Is it the power supply again?

To fix it I have to unplug it and wait about 20 seconds and then plug it back in - then it powers up fine. I had the power supply in it replaced a couple years ago(or was it 3 years ago?) but would consider just buying another basic system if this is the problem again. It's the computer my 5 & 8 year old use.
