51  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Install 1.3 update or not? on: 2009 July 29, 05:05:52
Oddly enough, over on Facebook (because I haven't ventured over to 3Tardland today), I noticed quite a number of people kermitflailing over the patch and how they can no longer play with mods in the game.  It was a mixed bunch:  some had removed their Mods folder before installing, and some hadn't.

I haven't taken the plunge myself (I'll take the "wait and see" approach with this patch as I did with the last one), so I can't tell you if that's the case for me.

That, or she's just a gigantic fuckwit who couldn't be arsed to figure out how to make the mesh properly.  Par for the course, isn't it?

Shock shock, horror horror!

Oh, joy!  Nice to see that Simslice is keeping up the tradition by charging for subscriptions.  How long before weather is on there?

Possibly so, but I have a feeling that she's just waiting for the tools to be perfected.  I remember that she started out with everything free on her site back when Sims 2 was still sort of new, and I'd imagine that this will be the case with Sims 3 (starting out free for a bit before putting in the "Donations Only" downloads).

Yeah, I'm working my way through those right now.  This reminds me of years ago when I first tried painting with Corel Painter; I was totally out of my element when I first opened the program.  I'd spent years painting with all sorts of mediums, but that was certainly no walk in the park.  I have a feeling this will be the same way.  Good thing that I'm a quick learner.

Isn't that the truth!  And try having less than 4 Gigs with Vista if you plan on having some of those damn widgets.

This may be hope talking, but I give Rose another month (after meshing smooths out a little more) before she starts taking "donations" again.

If only I could find a decent Milkshape For Dummies tutorial, I could start whipping out some (obviously free) hairs now that they aren't in danger of replacing hair in the game.
60  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Creat a style drop-down menu spazzing.. on: 2009 July 26, 23:21:36
Yeah, I'd noticed that.  S3 was taking up a good Gig and a half of my 3 Gigs before I quit the game (gee, just like San Andreas used to do).  Renderware was Doom, too, wasn't it?
61  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: A graphical glitch with adaptive anti-aliasing on: 2009 July 26, 22:08:20
Good to know since I was thinking about doing the same thing.

I'm also curious about the resolution people are using.  I lowered mine to test out AA at a lower res and still got balding sims.

What I find really damn amusing is that people are jumping on the Peggy bandwagon crying "Heresy!" because someone took one of her meshes from S2 and converted it for S3 (and it looks horrible).  I roflcoptered lots when someone said that this would "ruin her business".  Oh, the huge manatee!

My game is already loaded in the background, so I shall have to stuff her in later and send her to surgery tomorrow.
64  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: A graphical glitch with adaptive anti-aliasing on: 2009 July 21, 21:00:04
Mine's the Radeon HD3200, and I pointed out (probably in one of the undead threads you pulled up) that turning on adaptive anti-aliasing gave me no other problems except balding sims.  Everything looked so smooth and sparkly like a baby's bottom, but so did my sims' scalps.  Very much DNW.

Of course, I'd thought that quite a few other games have problems with ATI's lurvely AA, not just Sims 3.

Now that you mention it, the jaw structure does bare an uncanny resemblance to zombiefied MJ in the Thriller video.  A contest to bring this sim back from the world of the undead would be interesting.

Oh sweet Jeebus, yes.  I, too, miss Bruno's stuff already (uh, not including the open lips, that is).
67  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What, in Heaven's name, is up with traits?! Scary Pic included on: 2009 July 20, 23:39:13
Oh, sure, drag my multiple personalities into this.  Grin

I'm the one who made the RHPS reference, although I meant it in a "she looks like a man in drag" way and not an "ZOMG HOTT CURRY LOOKALIKE" way, thus our posts combining to make Captain Planet Dr. Frank N. Furter was my fault, although not my intention, you see.
68  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What, in Heaven's name, is up with traits?! Scary Pic included on: 2009 July 20, 23:24:34
I said that "she" looks like she should be singing the song because she looks like a transvestite.  Any implications directed at Mr. Curry are my fault.  However, "she" is not a sexy tranny, while Curry is.  Hell, my shemale neighbor looks sexier than that sim.
69  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What, in Heaven's name, is up with traits?! Scary Pic included on: 2009 July 20, 22:46:28
I agree.  Tim Curry, in and out of drag, is hot.  This, however, is the lovechild of Sylvester Stallone and Al Pacino in drag.

Does Stallone have a sister?  She looks like she could be it.

Dammit, I really wish that someone would convert the cute ethnic styles (like the Afro Puffs) that came to MTS2 a few years ago.
72  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What, in Heaven's name, is up with traits?! Scary Pic included on: 2009 July 20, 19:19:11
Jesus, daydreamer.  I don't know what the hell you did to that poor sim (were you MJ's personal plastic surgeon, too?), but in the last few pictures of her as an adult, she looks like she should be breaking out into "I'm Just a Sweet Transvestite" any minute now.
73  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New peggy hairs. They doesn't replace anything on: 2009 July 19, 18:32:02
Peggy's long stiff hairs (and some of her medium length ones) have never worked right when paired up with something (in this case, fat and boobage) that gets in the way.

I used to have FRAPS on my old computer.  How is Gadwin compared to it?  Better?

Disregard I suck cocks.  I have my answer.  Gadwin, it is.

I know.  However, windowed mode and my computer hate each other (and have since S2) for some unknown reason, quite opposite of the problems others have.  Frozen computer and then CTD occur, and it isn't something I like, so I choose to stay in full screen until I figure it out.

I like the hairband but I think the hair itself is pretty hideous.

It's all right.  It looks slightly better than a lot of her previous offerings for S2 and S3.  The true test of how it looks will be in gameplay, itself, instead of CAS.  I'll get around to that in a minute.  I had to up the brightness of my monitor because I switched from a 32" LCD monitor to a 17" CRT (bleh, the difference in brightness is staggering), and I was working on a personal core mod.
