In this configuration you won't need to use the whitelist to add each .exe everytime you install an EP/SP.
If this were the case, many people wouldn't know about the existence of DEP in the first place.

Ah, you're right. I fiddled around with the aging options in the latest patch, and I obviously forgot that I had done so.
Thanks.
28  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The Birth Control Mirror on: 2011 June 05, 18:05:18
I tried it with Generations. The game starts and it appears to be working fine, but Raw Data seems a bit off:

Note the Deviance and NBR sections.
29  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Random jingle on: 2011 June 01, 13:25:08
Sigh. This jingle has been covered many times already.
Somewhat like immortelleMuse said, it's caused by AwesomeMod assigning professions to a Sim. This doesn't happen in an unAwesome game, because it's just not possible.
30  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Updater (v2.6 - Updated 05/25/2011) on: 2011 May 28, 10:48:33
Are we going to get an update for 1.21 soon?
No it will never come!
31  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Updater (v2.6 - Updated 05/25/2011) on: 2011 May 25, 12:49:45
Updated to v2.6 (v2.6.0.137)
Released v2.6 earlier than intended, because Generations already seems to be available in Brazil (AM doesn't work with it anyway, but still) and it adds lots of other improvements that need a bit of public testing.

- Added Generations support;
- Improved efficiency (smaller file size);
- Other minor improvements.
32  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Updater (v2.5.1 - Updated 03/08/2011) on: 2011 May 16, 15:35:48
I keep getting Error message 9, which the readme tells me is
Quote
The updater couldn't download versions.html from both mirrors. This is probably because the servers are down.
(I only just installed this)

I've tried several times but all within about half an hour - I know, I know, can't come running with an issue yet. But I'm just asking: does it run on some system of timing out? (Forgive my technical incompetence when it comes to matters like this.) Because I live in a wonderful </sarcasm> country where it costs a fucking fortune to have an open-line-connection and 20GB isn't enough for my grandma, I'm on dial-up speed, so I'm wondering whether that'll effect it? If it will, guess I won't be able to use it for another bloody week or so.
It checks two times if the file is available before moving on (and therefore displaying an error). I don't know about time-out systems as this is controlled by an external program (wget).
And you should move to another country. Data limits AND dial-up is something I wouldn't be able to stand. I don't have a high download speed either (2.5Mbps), but that's the downside of living in a rural area. At least I can download as much as I want.
33  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Updater (v2.5.1 - Updated 03/08/2011) on: 2011 May 11, 07:02:06
AwesomeMod doesn't officially support Steam, so it wouldn't make sense for the updater to do so.
34  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: BFBVFS on: 2011 May 08, 18:45:25
It's the frame rate. Alt-tab in and out a few times and it should go away.
35  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Help with Awesome mod can't command sims on: 2011 April 14, 18:14:50
Well, Hengto, it looks like you have installed an unofficial game modification that does not match your current version of The Sims 3.

Did you forget to check your own post? The answer's right there.

This game does not require the DVD to be present after the game has been activated with a valid/legal serial. So a Fixed EXE is not needed and therefor not available!
There is no no-CD crack. They don't want to be 'illegal'. You have to find another source, I think.
39  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Updater (v2.5.1 - Updated 03/08/2011) on: 2011 March 08, 12:36:00
Updated to v2.5.1 (v2.5.1.125)

The updater didn't work when Ambitions was the latest EP installed on an x64 system. This issue has been fixed in this version.
40  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Updater (v2.5 - Updated 02/01/2011) on: 2011 February 28, 20:32:14
Oh, if it starts the game, it works.
Those errors you see just mean that it can't find the x64 registry keys, which is obviously because you have an x86 system. So, those errors are harmless.

but those were pirates and I thought might be causing errors
SRSLY
41  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Updater (v2.5 - Updated 02/01/2011) on: 2011 February 28, 19:52:43
Is there a way to slow down the error text when we start updater.bat?  I keep seeing errors but it scrolls too fast for me to read it.
The errors that you're probably seeing are normal. But I don't know more, as this is the only information you're giving me.
Gimme: Operating system, x86 or x64, installed EPs/SPs, game version, updater version and everything else that may be of use. Does the game actually start?

I tried looking for a .log file but couldn't find one.
There isn't one. It is possible to let it make one, though.

Also, would anyone be so kind to direct me to proper instructions (or link to a free program) for cleaning up my registry?
Not today.

Basbas has a very valid point.  I like his/her ideas, and I would like to subscribe to the newsletter.
You can. It's only two potatoes.
43  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Updater (v2.5 - Updated 02/01/2011) on: 2011 February 26, 09:28:39
blah
The updater doesn't do anything to your game. It is not a mod, but a standalone program that starts the game when it's finished, just like you would do when you'd want to start the game.

Windows only!
And I have a Mac...*sigh*
When you bought your overpriced and overrated Mac, you should have known that you would encounter incompatibilities with almost every program. I do not feel sorry for you.
Macs should be 'user-friendly', but most of the time it turns out that they are not as user-friendly as expected, like now.
Ha ha.
44  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2011 February 25, 19:07:56
I have the updater installed and I never receive an error It seems to update it. I get the option to "Choose 1. to clean up download folder and exit (recommended)" or "2. to exit now"
You do receive an error, look better. If you really don't get one, please refer to the updater thread.

I won't help you with the rest of your shit. You are an idiot.
45  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Updater (v2.5 - Updated 02/01/2011) on: 2011 February 19, 12:21:43
Can there be anything done with it, so it doesn't automatically start the game after updating?
Yes, that's possible, but why would you want it to? The meaning of this Updater is to update AwesomeMod when you start the game, not when you think: "Well, let's update AwesomeMod".
But if you really want such a feature, send me a PM or something. Modifying the batch file is not that hard.
I won't add it as some default feature, as it's really not the scope of this Updater.

The Book Corral bookcase generates skill books. I believe the honeycomb-like bookcase from the store generates them too, but I am not sure.

EDIT: Forgot to say that your world is great. It is plain and flat and easily routable.

Well, the number of fixes is rather disappointing.

48  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Updater (v2.5 - Updated 02/01/2011) on: 2011 February 01, 15:18:43
Updated to v2.5 (v2.5.0.124)

- Added Outdoor Living Stuff support.
- Added first-run message.
- Changed update check to a notification. You now have to go to this thread and download it yourself.
- Other minor improvements and fixes; see Changelog for details.

Please note that this version automatically determines whether you need the stable or test AM. This is useful for the recently released patch.

Thank god I wasn't the only one, I was prepared to be flamed. Haha. But I had a feeling that it was different than that, because there was no other evidence of old-code 9.
So until v2.5, use 3booter like the olden days, yes?
No, you were using the v2.2 readme. v2.4.1 installs should install 3booter just fine.
50  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Updater (v2.4.1 - Updated 01/23/2010) on: 2011 January 23, 16:08:38
I would gladly accept that offer.
Perhaps you could point me to some documentation about those 'bukkits'? I know how to upload files through FTP, but that's all.
