If I also bless these families, will this counteract the TS2-style aging, or if I use either AM or Indie progression?  I'm just not sure exactly how these work together. Thanks.

As far as I know, blessing families only makes them immune to story progression. It shouldn't have any effect on aging.

I'm thinking about switching to the AM story driver, replacing the ISM driver I use now. Somewhere on this forum, I thought I read of people having problems switching out ISM for something else, because ISM had changed the coding in the game permanently. Is this true or was I misreading/misunderstanding/making things up? Is there a way to avoid it if it's true?
You may be confusing ISM with Awesomemods' Supreme Commander mode. If you remove AM whilst Supreme Commander is active in your save game, your save may no longer work.

Also, is there anyway to activate for it to tell me when other sims in the neighborhood get married or have children?  More reminiscent of ISM.  Right now it tells me when other sims are going to work or are working on skills, which I don't really care about, but I do care about marriages and babies.
Enable InformOnStoryAction in the config file. The pop-ups will alert you to romantic interactions and marriages, households moving and pollinations. It doesn't report actual births though.

Someone told me that the awesomemod allows you to force a pregnant sim to go to work. Is this true? and if so how to you do it?
Ctrl-shift-c to open the cheat console, then type 'backtowork'

I,for one,am glad EA have decided not to release a neighbourhood editor.Given the almighty mess they made of the base game,I think I'd rather let the modding community have a bash at it.Can't wait for the EP horror stories to begin, though.

Well,a frozen game isn't much of an improvement,I'm afraid. As far as I know, all that is required to remove Awesomemod is to simply take the 'awesome.package'file out of your Mods folder. This has always worked for me in the past,I've never deleted a cache file or any other type of file.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you.

@ piratesforlunch: Did you have Supreme Commander enabled for any sims in your saved game?If so,this may be the reason that you cannot play it without Awesomemod.Try starting a new neighbourhood and see if that works.

EDIT:Sorry,just re-read your post.If reinstalling the game didn't work,I don't know what would.

Yes, I believe you need story progression on, as Awesome Story Driver replaces EA's story mode.
This would appear to be the case.I had Story Progression disabled in-game and got no messages for several days, but on enabling it AM story mode began producing messages.

Are cribs alone enough for spawnage?I moved a married couple into a starter home with one crib and one double bed but nothing happened for about a week. Then I moved them to a larger home with a crib and four beds and they pollinated the same night.
