26  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Need lesson in CPU on: 2006 February 03, 16:17:13
Hmmmm.... Well I am not sure that upgrading from 1 GB to 2 GB you would notice that much of a difference. Can't be sure though.

I started with 1 GB RAM and I decided one day to add 2 more. Personally I did not notice much of a difference. I still use 3 GB of RAM and things run real smooth but I am not sure that I see a great big difference between then and now.

Of course in the past when I changed from 512 to 1 GB of RAM I noticed a much bigger difference. I think after a certain point, fast is fast?
27  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: But it seemed like such a good idea at the time! on: 2006 January 29, 18:02:58
I have 1.67 GB of sims downloads in my folder. That is way down from a few months ago when I decided to take measures and deleted most of what I never use. I also have my folder compressed. It seems to make a difference.

My game loads ultra-fast though. I have no problems there. But for now I do not need any more hair or clothing or anything else for that matter. Only critical fixes from MATY and such.

Usually when I am unhappy with my downloads status, I just remove my downloads folder, archive it on my slave drive for reference, then start a new neighborhood with a clean slate (except for critical fixes). That way whenever a hack, etc pops out at me as something I need I get it from my archived downloads folder. Works rather well I think anyway. Smiley

Haha! Awesome!
29  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Categorizing all my downloaded hair... Any advice on how to keep my sanity? on: 2006 January 11, 16:34:23
I wish I had horrible crashes.
I just have dull crashes.  When I search for anything (which the program seems to force me to do, rather than just letting me tell it which folder I want it to look in), the program searches, and when it's searched through most of my files, it just stops responding.

I used to have that problem til I realized I was a dork and should never ever no matter what scan for files. There are just some files that will always make it puke. Now I go into my downloads with clean installer, find all the offending hair files, move them to an offending-hair folder, and make a list. Then when I open DatGen, I only open the four files per hair mesh at a time. That way it never crashes. Then I use the hair toner and ref the list I have (when the names are not intuitive) to bin the hair correctly. Then it is lather, rinse, repeat. Until all the offenders stop offending so much.

Although this is all fine and dandy but now the new version of DatGen I cannot figure the process out at all. *sigh* I think I am going to try and locate the old version.
30  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Who's getting the x-mas pack? on: 2005 November 13, 20:09:58
I will only buy it if the fireworks are guaranteed to burn my sim's house down. Although I saw the video and it did not look promising. They were lighting fireworks in the house and no flamage. Wtf?! I guess one sim kinda burned up....
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What happened with Dr Boris on: 2005 November 11, 04:34:22
I think JM keeps him cryogenically frozen and just thaws him out when he's needed.

My thoughts exactly.  Wink

Why was this hack removed from VS?  Huh
33  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Flaming sack of poo?? Anyone else gotten this? on: 2005 September 19, 02:10:32
My favorite part about the furious state is when they think about the person who pissed them off the get these awesome flames over the thought bubble.  Cheesy
34  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Maid and that damn fish tank on: 2005 September 15, 14:15:52
Yep, I always end up with a massive puddle by the fish tank. So the maid cleans the fish tank - cleans the resulting puddle - cleans the fishtank - cleans the resulting puddle.... on and on into an infinite loop.  Roll Eyes
35  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: who's playing this game? on: 2005 August 03, 14:29:01
I have not an artsy bone in my body. I am a web developer on the programming side. I will have my degree this fall. I love this game though... I guess I fall on the Computer Science side of it. I would fail miserably if left to my own devices on designing a website. I leave that to the artsy folk.  Yep, my skills of an artist are sorely lacking.

Come to find out though that there seem to be more artsy web developers than programmers out there. So I am in a bit of demand around where I live.  Grin All these designers need someone to do the coding. Works for me.  Tongue
36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Best way to kill off townie children? on: 2005 August 02, 22:53:20
Why not have at them with a cow plant thingy? Clean, easy and you get some elixir of life outta them. Wink

Burnination!
38  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: HUZZAH! Banned from Rentech.com! on: 2005 July 29, 15:34:46
I only joined various simmers because I was stalking you - now I have another membership to a site which will remain unused!  Cheesy
Oh well. *returns to lurking*

Oooooh! Careful what you say! <sarcasm>You might be disrespecting some people.</sarcasm> Ugh. I got yelled at about that when I posted like that. I have never used my login to go back to that site since.

This is very useful. Thank you.  Cool
40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dunno if this is poss...? on: 2005 July 27, 22:37:09
I'm sometimes really pissed with my sims (no real surprise) and long to be able to interact with them in a fairly negative way. E.g. give 'em a right good slap!
In days of yore there existed a game called Dungeon Keeper where the curser was a hand and you could beat your minions to a pulp (joy) causing deeper respect and awe. And, at least in my case, a warm glowing feeling. Could this be done to the sims or am I just taking the God complex too far?

Oooh! I love Dungeon Keeper. I cannot seem to get DK1 to run on XP, but I have DK2 to keep me busy. I always play after a particularly trying day and slap some minions around. That game is truly awesome!  Grin
41  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No Autonomous SSX3 hack on: 2005 July 27, 22:07:14
Even ordinary flamingos are the top class for "fun objects" in the game. You won't believe it till you've experience the Macrotastic Stuff Kicker.

I cannot live with out my Macrotastic Stuff Kicker thingy bobber. I have officially banned TV's and computers in my game. My sims have a thing for flamingoes now I swear.
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Lobonannies... lobotomized? Nannies leave early. on: 2005 July 20, 18:11:28
Okay, I have had this happen. Twice I called her and twice she left. Then I got curious and set the "eye in the sky" to lobotomize nannies. Then I called her again and she stayed. That was my qucik fix.

Although I am sure my situation may be unique. This may or may not help you track the problem.
43  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: HUZZAH! Banned from Rentech.com! on: 2005 July 20, 18:06:34
War! WAR! *prepares newly dried out flame-thrower* Mwahahahahaha!!!!

Burninate Renech!!!! *trips over flame-thrower and almost burns down the neighborhood daycare, almost unleashing mass hysteria* Lol!!  Grin
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: That was quick on: 2005 July 16, 00:59:08
By the way, that little joke with the link you gave is very funny, you actually had me wondering, even if it was for just a moment. Poor little guy, why is he losing his head?

I thought that was pretty cool really! That guy losing his head every few seconds. But then I am easily amused.  Grin

Of course seeing as how this is moreawesomethanyou.com I think we could do with some burninating of the peasants and junk like that.

I just keep picturing the peasants running around burning, yelling feebly at Trogdor: "Please stop burninating us massive beefy armed dragon-man!"
Mwahahahahaha!!!
45  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Need to get rid of a Hack on: 2005 July 16, 00:49:26
I dunno anything about that, but I advise you put your intentionally downloaded hacks in a seperate subdirectory, like "hax" or something, and then systematically destroy anything that looks funny in your downloads directory.

Pherverstool can help also. Unfortunately, I don't have the link, and Phervers couldn't think of anything cool and memorable for it, like pherverstool.com or something.

pherverstool.com? *spits soda everywhere* HAHA! *pictures pherverstool*

Man I must get my mind out of the gutter sometimes.
46  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Who's a wussie now? on: 2005 July 16, 00:41:38
Silly Dawnkeeper. Inge is Inge, that's how Inge is.

Yeah, you are probably right... *shuffles away with soggy flame thrower*

*is sorry*
47  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Who's a wussie now? on: 2005 July 15, 15:12:23
I don't think you will use the beta because you're a wussie.  You need courage to test beta forum software on a live forum.  I wouldn't want to lead you into doing something you're uncomfortable with by telling you all the nice new features of the latest beta.  Tongue

You know what?! If you were not such a bitch to me in the last forum I may not be so mad at you! But I have had it with you! Why are you even here? What is your specific malfunction? Huh?

*gets massive flame thrower and prepares to burninate*
48  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Chance Cards: A Quick Gambler's Guide on: 2005 July 15, 15:02:17
This is for sure "more awesome than you".

I heard about these chance cards on the last site. By that time though all the stuff was on the move and I missed it. I always guess at my chance cards. But this guide will help me make more educated decisions on the randomness.

Thanks for posting this!
