ScorpioMaurus, could you please tell me where you got the lipstick in first pic?

NP it's from TSR by a creator called Lorieen (Glossy Lipstick by Lorieen) and it's a free one so no having to look around PMBD or anything

As for the Egyptian sim her lipstick is by Katelys (Lipstick 05) and is also free just in case anyone was wondering.

Thank you Smiley

Nope. This is a brand spanking new clean untainted install. There isn't even a downloads folder.

Thanks for replying Smiley I managed to get my hands on another copy and reinstalled but with the same outcome. It's really quite baffling  Undecided

I loaded up my game some time ago and found this:

And my game crashes anytime I try to move sims into a maxis lot.

With a bit of searching I've:
1. Discovered that the most likely cause is  a corrupt object file
2. Replaced the file (as well as the other object0.. files) from the compressed zip of my original cd - no luck.
3. Carried out a complete uninstall/reinstall - this seemed to solve the problem until I put my saved games and downloads back in.
4. Did another uninstall/reinstall without putting the saved games and downloads in as well as marking both TSdata/Res/Objects and Sims3D folders read-only.

The same problem persists and I really have no clue what to do next at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just followed your walkthrough exactly and left all the default options. I've reccently started compressing the textures but I noticed this problem from the very beginning.

I've come across another problem: The plugin seems to 'eat' blond recolours. Every single blond recolour i run through the plugin does not show up in CAS. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
9  TS2: Burnination / Taster's Choice / Re: Testers wanted: Color Binning Tool 0.2.8.1 on: 2006 April 17, 00:25:09
Thank you for this fantastic plugin - it makes hair binning a lot easier. However, this tool seems to actually double the sizes of the modified hair files. That is to say that the new files generated by the plugin are twice the size of the original (disabled) package files. This problem sort of defeats one of the reasons for binning hair - can it be fixed?

Theo made an option to compress the resources. It will use the SimPE Compress code in the textures resources inside the package.
However, since SimPE isn't Bodyshop, sometimes it can't compress all..

and to clarify, compressing resources is not related to image compression. Smiley

you can select the option to compress the textures resources at menu "Package/Options" in the Output Tab.
make sure that you are using at least version 0.2.8.1

I'll give this a go - thank you.

That's a very helpful thread - thank you!

Does anyone know of any tutorials on how to make the chance of an offspring from a maxis skintone parent and one of a custom skintone 50/50 as opposed to 100% in favour of the custom one? I'd like to use this as a way of diversifying my gene pool without making sections of the population one particular skintone.

I followed your instructions, fired up the game...

... and it worked! It worked beautifully! Thank you, thank you, thank you so so much for sharing this info - it saves a heck of a lot of eye-crossing and hair-pulling! Thank you!

Thank you - that is a lot clearer - I'll give it a go  Smiley

I've been watching this thread with interest, and things have gotten very interesting indeed!

I've done some looking around at realistic nude skintones and I still like Allan Akbars the best, they can be found here
http://www.insimenator.net/showthread.php?t=905

It's in the adult section so you will need to be registered and have adult access (PM Kathy for it)

Something I keep forgetting, which is funny since I requested it in the first place, is SimPE has made it extremely easy to make any skintone a default skintone (replacing the skintone of your choice) including Alien, Zombie and Vampire

scan folder/pick custom skintone/select it and then go down to the bottom, one of the tabs has the spot where you can choose which skintone to have it replace, select which one, a window will popup for you to give it a name, save and within moments (depending on your computer) you will have a new default skintone  Grin

I took one of my tattooed skins (based on Allan Akbars) and made it my new alien default, worked great! but a few mins later when I was going thru my "pre-Uni" folder (boy am I glad I didn't just delete it) I happened to come across all my copys of Allan Akbars skintones and stuff (from his site when he still had it) including his very dark african one (which was the base for the tattooed skin I had just made into a default alien) so I decided to make that one my default alien skintone for now (while I decide if I want to do a special tattooed one)

I think after I get some sleep I will be updating my memory on his skintones, I used to love his ones with tanlines so I may make one of them a default  Grin

I don't understand what you mean (the bit in italics and bold). What exactly is the name of the tab, and where can I find it once I've opened the file in simpe?
