Why don't you try a townhouse?  You can add storeys ad infinitum with those, especially if you use one of the single-tile staircases or ladders that you just plonk in any old place.  I have quite a few double townhouses with 4 storeys apiece, you can get hundreds of Sims in 'em.

They both have alot of extra space in them.

I have other Lots uploaded at InSim but most of them are "affordable" and smaller but they can all be added on to without having to rip the whole house apart to do it.

One of these I'm going to get back into building more houses to share...

Not a large house, but I find it helpful with big families....

The Grand Trianon Loft Bedroom set from the Dream Team at MTS2...I can't give you a link because that site gets banned from the school filter. But, if no one kind find it before I get home (in two hours), I'll get it to you then.

You can use my "house of Ill repute". "Sleeps" 16. 8 private 1 bed rooms and 4 rooms with double beds, hot tubs, and the glass shower.

Just dump the Madam and "friendly ladies".

One day I may update it for Uni and NL. Maybe after OFB comes out.

You could try thesims2.com as they tend to feature and really big user created houses...

Ah stuff it, avoid the hassle and go straight to LaverwinkleSims http://www.laverwinklesims.com/ - you won't regret it.

This house I made is large, although it only has two bedrooms - but there's room to place more stairs and build upwards.

Glad you like it!  I've got others, but I need to drag myself away from my game to finish tidying them up and making the pics etc. before I can upload them anywhere!

My building skills suck. My houses usually look alike. I start out trying to make them different but somehow they always look like a box.I have better luck with remodeling the ones that came with the game when my Sims need more room.

Well, mostly box-shaped houses are good because they work well, so why run yourself down?  The wierd and extravagant designs which look so wonderful often are extremely difficult to play, with sims getting stuck in corners etc!  I tend to go for fairly simple shapes and open-plan kitchen/dining areas with lots of room for sims to manouevre around each other!  And since most of my houses are in a half finished state when I tidy them up, they are still fairly adaptable.

So true I have found this with a few I have downloaded.Tthey looks so beautiful but in play mode I have had to either redesign them or get rid of them because they are unplayable as they are.

Yes, chiming in to say that the houses on laverwinkle are lovely! I love building my own, but I love looking at other people's ideas to get me out of a rut. There is a lot of ugly modern townhouse construction in my neighborhood and I find myself being influenced by that. So it's nice to see the pretty old-style houses on laverwinkle.  Grin
