TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is antiredundancy necessary for AL?

I will help you by saying "It doesn't work like that, idiot.". First of all: Antiredundancy IS necessary to avoid a BFBVBS if you expect to play your neighbourhood very long. Furthermore, running out of any NPC will force the game to generate a new one. Corruption will not, unless I am VERY much mistaken, occur. Also, don't create a new thread just because nobody responded to your first one.

You do not buy them or get them - you will sometimes find a black hole, and, if you have the key, you can fly through it to get somewhere else. If I am not mistaken, black-hole generation is totally sadorandom.

It isn't downloading back things you have deleted, the problem is that earlier stages cannot be deleted. Every time you edit your creature, it saves a copy of the old version; these copies are hidden and therefore difficult to delete. If you toggle "Buddy Content" off and then on again (or vice-versa) in the options, you should be able to see them and delete them, but I may be remembering incorrectly.

By the gods, are you retarded? Seriously. Who could possibly be this stupid? Probably a sock; my money is on The Tard's sock, sent to make her seem wonderful in comparison, so that her return would be made better for her.

The little "Patching Files..." dialogue box obscured the latter sentence of your post. Seeing only "I'm hoping they add fish.", I immediately thought "So long, and thanks for all the fish.". Will have to enter space stage as a Vogon now, hunt down the Splotch-Earth, and destroy it.

Ellatrue: You may have a better shot by downloading the png that you click to make the large preview window appear; I can't actually test this out, but it seems that those pics are the "xyzcreature.png" to your "xyzcreature_lg.png".

My sims always want to fish in the summer, even if there is not and has never been a pond on their lot. I usually lock the want and take them to the Ole Fishing Hole, a community lot I made specifically for fishing.
It seems to me that the problem isn't "wanting" to fish, but actually undertaking the fishing action in the spot where the pond used to be. Of course, that would be a little difficult to figure out considering the poster has negative grammar, which is of course less grammar than none at all. For the record: queue != cue. A queue is best defined as a "lineup", a list where items are constantly processed from the head and new items are added to the tail, whereas a cue can be the stick with which one plays pool, or a signal of some sort.

If I recall, that's true of deleting UNI subhoods if and only if you have another UNI subhood around for the dormies to be shuffled into by the game, or something to that effect. It might be true of BV subhoods and others as well, but definitely only if you have another one. More than likely, though, it's not possible at all.

So, now that the splotchen are overtaking torrent sites and the world at large, did anyone ever figure out how to excise the data from Splotchcritter image files? (For the record, my computer username is not my own name or even something remotely dangerous in the hands of others, but I like mah privacy.)

If I recall correctly, the game doesn't prevent aliens from overheating at all, since there's no difference between them and other sims besides skintone. It's just Prima Guide L&P. Check the warmth thread in the War Room for more.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Non-awesome user considers installing Seasons, requests assistance!

So... I've got Seasons installed and working fine, so I decided I might as well take a leap and install BV and maybe FT as well. These are my concerns, though:
I have Squinge stuff. I don't know if it's safe to use or not. It isn't much... SavageNoRelChange and SpyOnNeighbours.
I have Crammyboy's nudist mod. It's been updated for BV and FT, but apparently the FT version I found conflicts with an Awesome Hack, and I can't have that. I can live without it, I suppose, but I'd rather not.
Umm... I guess these are my only major concerns at the moment. As you can see, I'm not exactly used to this whole going-through-everything-in-Downloads-and-making-sure-it's-all-up-to-date thing... I played with Pets as my latest expansion for practically eternity.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Why did my game spawn a new stray?
|
on: 2008 August 07, 17:45:58

The game will generate any kind of premade sim, including, presumably, strays, if it feels that it needs one. That's my guess as to what happened. If that is what happened, now that it has one, it will just bring that one in until such a time when that one is adopted or dies. Besides, if nostrayregen had stopped working, you'd get a horrendous lag as the game tries to generate every single stray that it has just realised is missing, not a few seconds' lag and one cat.
