Get it here http://tinyurl.com/Aniegos.
2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: "Sims Launcher has encountered an issue and is closing" on: 2010 June 11, 19:25:04
I had this same issue after I decided to install Ambitions on my desktop. I still had the Razor version on that computer, so decided to uninstall and reinstall with the retail version first. I would only get as far as the base game, then couldn't use the launcher to patch. I would get that same message (that the launcher couldn't initialize). I uninstalled twice more before deciding to just patch manually. Then the patch wouldn't install, I got the "invalid file" message. I figured out what was happening was that upon uninstall some files were left behind. The new shortcuts were pointing to the old files.  I deleted all those manually (after uninstalling) and everything worked when I reinstalled.

Heh, reminds me of Candace, the dishwasher in early TS2 days.

The cars - thats just clever photography, and also, as I don't have more than two rabbit holes, the food store and tha graveyard, not so many cars and school buses driving around. I would not mind a mod to switch off cars altogether, until w can have nice replacements. The roads - thats a mod, from Bogsims, link: http://www.bogsims.com/sims3/regina/misc/around-town.htm

Ah, I'm happy to see that someone has figured out road modification. I shall have to attempt dirt roads. Thanks for the link.

I really like these. It looks like you have done something with the roads in the neighborhood. Is that possible? I also do not see cars, is that a cheat or clever photo taking?

8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 22, 22:35:56
Well, my sim achieved that age-old Sims rite of passage by setting her kitchen on fire with Mac N Cheese.

New learnings:
- TS3 sims are much smarter about fires than TS2 sims.  There was no firedance, and no motive hit either, which probably means that it'll be hard to kill them with fire too.  She managed to extinguish it long before the fireman actually got there.
- When you burn down the stove, you get a clickable option to "Replace for $400," so you don't actually have to go into buy mode and figure out where it came from originally.

Hmmm... maybe this varies by traits or something else. When playing with the Bachelor family they all did the firedance, even Mortimer who was visiting at the time. It was just as hard to distract them as in TS2. Only one of the adults got the "Extinguish fire" option, which kept dropping from the queue. When playing with my CAS-made sim, she calmly tried to put it out. but was trumped by a fireman.

*delurk*

There are no memories and no records of "Opportunities" achieved, or anything else achieved.

This is one of the things that bothers me the most. I want memories and I want the photo album back. Those are how I keep my story straight even if I don't write a single word I still have record to refer to.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New EP procedure - would love recommendations. on: 2007 August 23, 17:13:18
You could do what I do, and wait a month or two before installing it.  All of the hacks are updated by then, there's often a patch out, and the major game-breaking bugs are known so you can avoid them.  You've lived without it this long, it's not like you can't wait a little longer.  (I know that almost no one will find my advice palatable.)

This is pretty much what I do, too. I wait until my "can't play without" hacks/mods are updated and/or tested before I install. However, I've always bought them on the day they came out, mostly due to my teenage daughter who can't be patient and wait to install her copy. She just plays vanilla for a while, ugh. Guess she'll have to wait this time tho' since she got a Macbook Pro for her birthday! Cheesy
11  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Tutorial: Clean custom neighbourhoods + townie creation (Pets updates) on: 2007 February 25, 17:58:49
I am not awesome-this method is not working for me.  I have pets, and the only custom material I have installed right now is the Pets director's cut.

Whenever I attempt to create a new neighbourhood after renaming N001, the game quits and the invisible "Pets" neighbourhood becomes visible (I can't do anything with it though).  I get a whole new N001, defaut townies and all.

I, too, must be unawesome. The same thing has been happening for me. Multiple times. Have reset and retried using empty templates and renaming.

BUT wait, right in the middle of posting this this reply I went back and did yet another re-read and lo and behold --- I am truly unawesome. I must confess I read the directions wrong.

This may have happened to you, too, Zerthimon. Did you perhaps change the name of N001 in .../My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Neighborhoods instead of C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\UserData\Neighborhoods?

Although it pains me to admit it, that is what I was doing wrong. As soon as I fixed that little problem it worked beautifully!      So Thank You Jordi!
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Your Favorite Default Replacement Skins? on: 2006 May 31, 15:20:16
I use Louis' default replacements that I got off of MTS2. I really like them, they're not overly realistic but there also not too cartoony.

Is Louis the paradisesims fellow?

No, Louis is the SimCribbling gal.
