1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Uni Life Thread on: 2013 March 15, 21:54:08
Has anyone successfully formed a band at university? My sim tried with several musically inclined roomies and friends, but no option ever appears.
While she is back home, in between terms, she does have the option.
2  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Random Crashing on: 2012 July 16, 17:28:09
The crash log produced by the game itself usually says its an access violation at reading address 0x00000030, and the address under it is usually always the same depending on the patch (for 1.34 it was always 0x00d5d48f and another address for 1.36). Sometimes when it crashes during saving, CLA just says it's an unknown issue.

I get the same in my crash logs, though I've never had problems saving.

I've just now updated to 1.36 patch and AM, and after about a half hour of play it crashed. Bollocks.
This is on a neighbourhood less than a week old and with absolutely no other CC.

I'm going to recheck with a vanilla game (*cries) and see how it goes.
3  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Random Crashing on: 2012 July 14, 13:15:41
I experience random crashing. After experimenting with all kinds of advice from various forums, I can personally only put it down to using CC.

I've started who knows how many fresh neighbourhoods in an attempt to narrow it down, but basically I can play with AM installed and nothing else to be confident of no crashes. The last time I tried to add one piddly bit of CC (it was a mod, though it claimed to be compatible with the latest patch) my game started crashing again.

I can never narrow the crashes down to a particular event in the game. I can save a few minutes before a crash, then reload and play way past the previous crash point without incident.

4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Family funds on: 2012 March 29, 09:49:59
Does the familyfunds cheat only work when the specific household is in play? It isn't working for me from edit town/neighbourhood as it did in the Sims 2 (unless I'm remembering incorrectly) .

I'm basically organising new families I've created into a fresh neighbourhood. Having to plop them first into a lot they can afford, then select the household, only to fund them up so I can move them again, seems like too many steps.

I have used AM spawning features previously, but that isn't what I'm after for this neighbourhood.

Carrigon also has a mod to allow food serving at venues.

THAT MOD IS OFFENSIVE TO WICCANS.

HUR. I thought the name rang a bell.

7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Earning money moonlighting as a mixologist on: 2012 February 25, 22:37:50
Apart from the few simoleons my sim gains per drink she serves to customers, she earns nothing else from moonlighting at a bar.
The pop-ups state that a certain amount has been earned during a given shift, but it is never actually credited to the household. Is this a known feature rather than a bug?

I never noticed it until now, but as this sim is completely broke and trying to earn a living by moonlighting, it's become apparent that she may need to go back on the game.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Random jingle on: 2011 June 02, 17:23:02
Search for "chimes".

Chimes, smines. Jingle, jongle. Let's call the whole thing off. Ba-dum-tish.

Playing without awesomemod, I still hear these 'noises', however, they didn't play when restarting the Twinbrook household again.
I heard them in an established household in a different hood. It was at night while the household was sleeping, so I'm still unsure what triggered it.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Random jingle on: 2011 June 02, 00:15:26
Sigh. This jingle has been covered many times already.

Sigh. Searching for 'jingle' and 'music' was perhaps not good enough. I confess, I didn't try, 'do-do-do do do-do'.

And since you have been contradicted, any links to these previous discussions please?
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Random jingle on: 2011 June 01, 03:04:23
I hear this jingle infrequently, but within the first few minutes of playing one of the Twinbrook pre-made families, I heard it 3 times. Not been able to figure out what it means.

Is it something cringingly obvious?
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's on YOUR Wish List? on: 2008 July 16, 16:19:57
Now that I'm using the Community Time project, my sims can't take a vacation without having the days off or vacation days. It take sims forever to earn vacation time even with the aspiration point thing.  I would like a mod or some way for my sims to earn vacation time faster.

I didn't think the CTP affected the home lot time on return from vacation. It doesn't in my game. I know it was suggested in the CTP thread, but I didn't think it had been implemented. Have you actually experienced this?
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's on YOUR Wish List? on: 2008 July 12, 11:17:16
HOWEVER! I'm pretty sure that placed hack objects do not automatically update BHAVs, so if you, for example, download an updated FFS debugger, you should sell and re-buy the debugger on that lot.

O rly? I never have. I just get new options or re-arranged options or whatever on the batman or macro box whenever I update my hacks.

Yeah, I'd have to spend hours replacing all my BUY toliet rolls otherwise.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's on YOUR Wish List? on: 2008 July 11, 16:39:36
The coffee cup hack is one of Pescados. I think it's in the Director's Cut.
14  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful than You! July: AUGH, get that stuff off my face! on: 2008 July 07, 08:14:50
It doesn't help that the models would be fugly even without that crap on their faces.

Those eyes certainly don't help either. What's going on in those reflections? Trippy, man.
15  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful than You! July: AUGH, get that stuff off my face! on: 2008 July 05, 00:15:11
But...rotting meat? Who'd want that in their yard?

There are a fair number of plants that smell of rotting meat. It's to attract the flies which pollinate them.

Yeah, successful reproduction tends to be a more popular branch of evolution to follow than back yard aesthetics.
16  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful than You! July: AUGH, get that stuff off my face! on: 2008 July 01, 03:03:05
Ugh. Christmas acne.

You know, I don't know what bothers me more about More Awful entries; the blatantly lazy creators who just churn out copy n' paste crap with absolutely no effort to make the item remotely appealing or plausible, or the ones who obviously do put in effort and have at least some talent, and yet still manage to make us all reach for the eye bleach.
MS Paint has a lot to answer for.

*cries softly

I bet all of the other parents hated you for that.  I was that type of kid at school, and my parents were hated because other kids kept bringing home my latest fashion trend.

I remember starting the luminously coloured shoelaces trend at my school, which were also adapted into hair braids, bracelets and belts.
Unfortunately the laces came free in a box of cereal and I had no doubt helped contribute to the success of the evil marketing ploy. Fail...
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime Patch is out on: 2008 June 11, 19:45:50

Companies have a right to protect their games and they have been doing so for over 20 years.

They also need to know when they have crossed the line. And shit on it.

This thread nicely illustrates the problem.
19  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful than You! June: Stuff that you Do. Not. Want. on: 2008 June 11, 17:49:38
Seriously. I've had to close that PLEASE VISIT OUR SPONSERS Box from MTS2 four times now. Have I mentioned that as a particular pet peeve of mine? Okay, then.
That thing always scares the pickles out of me.

God, yeah. The first time it popped up I was expecting it to say, "Your internets haz been haxxorzd!!1!"
No need.
20  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful than You! June: Stuff that you Do. Not. Want. on: 2008 June 07, 14:56:16
This is supposed to be Ewan McGregor and is from TSR.  Not only does he look like he is constipated and needs to at least wash his face, if you will notice, it looks as if there is a hole in the middle of his forehead.  This has a very high creep factor for me and I Do.Not.Want.

Looks like he forget to put his false teeth in.

Obviously photo-skinned face meet creepy, unrealistic blue eyes. Bad photo-skinning makes me physically ill. I would enter some Chaz shit, but  I want to make sure not to enter something that's already been entered.

I started going back through all the old More Awful threads to make sure I didn't either... then seeing I already had. Damn.
Anyway, I recommend the hair thread for the most laughs. Still makes me belly laugh.

Oh, and I found an entry. Crammy's penis for females.

...I recall avoiding the thread in Peasantry. My fears are realised.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OK so the BV glitch got me on: 2008 June 05, 20:30:49
Well, the Macs are much prettier. Wink

Yes. My powerbook gets to sleep next to me in bed some nights.
My PC however, ugh. Could not face waking up next to that thing.
23  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful than You! June: Stuff that you Do. Not. Want. on: 2008 June 04, 05:14:38
Oh, and ebonyspiral? I blame you for my nightmares tonight.

Featuring Death Note or feeEssen's melting terlet...
...okay, I really shouldn't have just combined those both in my own head.

*leaves the light on
24  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful than You! June: Stuff that you Do. Not. Want. on: 2008 June 04, 01:22:26
There are also a few other entries in this thread that have appeared in past, 'More Awful'. Still, they make me cringe as hard as ever.

Anyway, I DO NOT WANT this thing in my head anymore... let alone my game.

Also, feeEssen, although usually not eligible, just has to be mentioned again for her blatant taking of the constant piss.

25  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful than You! May: Clothing Meshes of the Damned on: 2008 May 06, 01:27:58
Although not truly awful, this mesh amuses me as it makes the sim appear like she is falling backwards. Or, that the skirt itself is causing her knees to buckle, while also acting as a barstool.

I was reminded of snakewomen, although snakewomen has an ample enough bosom to maintain her balance.
