Title: What is your aspiration?
Post by: angelyne on 2005 December 20, 19:46:38
I'm willing to bet that pleasure will rank right up there, otherwise you'd be out there making babies, friends, dates money, or reading a book ... not indulging your sims habbit :)

Well, in the poll I chose Knowledge. I am or have been all the others to one degree or another, except Fortune.

I chose Pleasure.

Title: Re: What is your aspiration?
Post by: WoundedImmortal on 2005 December 20, 20:10:06
Actually, I'm rather low on the "Pleasure" scale.  I've never been to a "real" party, where there were drugs, alcohol and all that...I've never been drunk.  I've never seen an illegal drug.  I don't own a TV (So I do read a lot) I'm a virgin...I'm pretty mellow.

I'd classify myself as wither family or knowlegde.  Perhaps a mix of the two.

Family because I have always, even when I was young, wanted children.  Not 10 like the family sims.  However, I have always wanted a family.  I've been part of mentoring programs, worked at daycares, been a live-in nanny...I have a real genuine love for children, and am a natural mother.

Knowledge, because I'm one of thoes weird people who goes out and learns things on my own.  I've learned languages that weren't for a class at school.  When I was a junior in highschool, I had 8 more than enough credits to graduate early, but I didn't, I finished my senior year as a part time student, taking two college classes on the days I had off....

So in other words, I'm kind of a loser.. Heh.

Bah, you're not a loser.  The world needs people like you otherwise the world would be filled only with politicians :)

My definition of a pleasure aspiration is not so much someone who is into drugs, parties, booze and the like.  Rather it's someone who likes to indulge doing what they like, whatever that may be, often at the detriment of what they should be doing.  Now that's me :)  Right now my "drug" of choice is simming

I voted family because in my life and my culture that's what we value the most.  I would say however that I would be a strong candidate for knowledge as well.  I have always loved to read.  As a matter of fact my mom says I taught myself to read at about four and a half.  I read a lot of stuff on a lot of subjects.  Other than Sims, it's my favorite thing to waste time with.  I also keep quite a bit of trivia stuck in my head.  But I love to teach school and would love to be a mom.  (Which would thrill both sets of parents, my own and my in-laws!)  Anyway, that's my two cents.

Title: Re: What is your aspiration?

Well, my "Drug" of choice is writing...

Poetry, music, full length novels.  Most people consider that rather dull.

You forgot Grilled Cheese.  I guess I'll choose Fortune then.

Title: Re: What is your aspiration?
Post by: Zeljka on 2005 December 20, 21:16:54
This is one of those long standing annoyances with me because if I were a Sim, no single aspiration would cut it for me.

Started off as a child with a 50/50 split of family and knowledge,
as a teen, probably added finance to the mix 30/50/20.
As a young adult, I'd have been 40% Romance, reducing the others. Not sure what I am now?
Which aspiration spends too much time on the computer between work, putting off the cleaning until just before the flies come?

oh yeah, I'd certainly be a bit grilled cheese right now and I love wearing pjs the second I get home...

Title: Re: What is your aspiration?
Post by: Brynne on 2005 December 20, 21:27:16
Hmmm...Reg and I were just discussing this earlier.
I play myself as a Pleasure sim, because, dammit, I do like my pjs. And I'm a very playful kinda gal, so I'm all about pleasing myself. Er...you know what I mean. The only thing I *don't* like about the Pleasure aspiration is that there never seem to be any wants to do things with your partner. Because my sim-self's hubby is super hot, I would definitely want to be all over him all the time. So I have a bit of romance sim in me. That and I'm a huge flirt. So yeah, I'd definitely be a Pleasure/Romance sim. But wait! There's more! I must write and paint! I have a creative need to fulfill. And I have to have lots of friends. So...I'm a Pleasure/Romance/Popularity sim. Of course, in real life, I have a son. And he is my world. So I would also have a huge hunk of Family sim in me. So that's what? Pleasure/Romance/Popularity/Family. Okay. Now, about my insatiable appetite for learning new things. Particularly languages and psychology. And I love to read. Gotta add Knowlege to the mix, then. And I've been absolutely dying to get a huge expensive fountain for the front yard...

Now, I'm off to have a nice cheesy sandwich.

I'm only an occasional poster but regular visitor, and I must say Brynn you do make me laugh.  :)

As for aspiration, I'm too much of a mixture of all of them to pin myself down to one. Except fortune. I've never cared for money. There are too many good things in life that are free.

Aren't we forgetting something? There you go. For glory! For honor! FOR CHEESE!

I'm making a huge platter of grilled cheese as we "speak". Now, let's all discuss the cheese, shall we? Bring Goopy in, Reg. He's good at the cheese chat.

Even though I would like to consider myself an intellect, I had to choose Cheese.  Honestly, I would never read another book if it meant that the world's supply of cheese would never end.  I have one sim with the Grilled Cheese aspiration and I get so hungry playing her it's riudiculous.

LOL Brynne you always get me to laugh.

Mmm, cheese  :P

I think I could do well as a grilled cheese sim.  In fact, I think I'll be lazy and have a grilled cheese for dinner.

Title: Re: What is your aspiration?
Post by: Brynne on 2005 December 20, 21:45:27
Okay, for real? I think I'm making grilled cheese for supper. Jay will just have to deal with that. I'm hungry. And it's sooooooo gotta be cheese, now.

Sorry I forgot the cheese.  I thought the question was cheesy enough on it's own :)

Actually I don't get this whole cheese aspiration, it sounds like an inside joke?  Maybe one day someone will explain it to me :)

The Cheese Aspiration is the result of failure on the Senso-Orb. The best way to get Cheese is to take a sim that is not in Gold or Platinum, and repeatedly attempt to use the orb. Don't change anything if the dialog comes up. If you change nothing, no charges are used and you can try again until you become....CHEESE!

Ok, reading this has made me hungry.  I think I'll be different and have - wait! NO! MUST HAVE GRILLED CHEESE!

I'm knowledge, but I really need to have a grilled cheese right now.

Mmm...cheese.  If only it didn't make me feel like vomiting all over my nice clean keyboard every time I ate it, I might eat it more often.

However, I ate lasagne last night (and the night before)  :-[

Title: Re: What is your aspiration?
Post by: Kyna on 2005 December 20, 23:35:23
As a kid I wanted 10 kids (don't laugh).  But then as a teen I came to my senses and became more interested in knowledge.  I'm still more interested in knowledge - although I did have 4 children along the way.  I'm not really family oriented.

And my lunch everyday is a toasted cheese and tomato sandwich - close enough to grilled cheese.  Which is a fun aspiration.

Title: Re: What is your aspiration?
Post by: Emma on 2005 December 20, 23:38:04
I chose family. I always wanted 6 kids, and I currently have 4 ;D I'm not clever enough to be a knowledge, although that's what I would rather be...in the paranormal career, and a vampire :D

Title: Re: What is your aspiration?
Post by: Lythdan on 2005 December 20, 23:40:01
Then you are clearly of the Lasagna aspiration.

I love lasagna. I could eat it for three meals a day if I wanted too. Too bad our oven's broken. Microwaved lasagna just doesn't fix it...oh, bur in all reality,  I would be Fortune. I want my money, and I want to show it off too, by buying lots of useless junk. I probably do have a little mix of Pleasure. Because bubblebaths are fun.

Title: Re: What is your aspiration?
Post by: Kala on 2005 December 21, 01:55:53
I votes for Pleasure, but I think I'm a mix of pleasure, Knowlage, and fortune.  I don't think kids will come into my life.  Masix's idea of romance doesn't match mine.

Title: Re: What is your aspiration?
Post by: Ellatrue on 2005 December 21, 02:15:13
I guess I would be a family sim. I am very close with my family, and when I am in a relationship I am very focused and passionate about that person- I would say that right now I am romance, except I don't like sleeping around or want 10 people at once, just one very serious relationship... also knowledge, I guess, and pleasure because of my obsession with playing sims and avoiding work.

I'm probably a knowledge sim.  I spend most of the time with my nose in a book when I'm not on the computer, and another fair amount homeschooling my daughter.  I have a bit of family sim thrown in but I would never have that many kids :p  The 2 I have are my limit.

Title: Re: What is your aspiration?
Post by: aussieone on 2005 December 21, 08:56:50
I think I would be ideally knowledge/pleasure/grilled cheese.

Nothing better than having my nose in a good book, with a good glass of red and some fine assorted cheese.....oh, way to relax!!  ;D

Title: Re: What is your aspiration?
Post by: VJay on 2005 December 21, 09:08:19
I'm a mix of Knowledge and Pleasure. Knowledge, because I'm very interested in paranormal stuff and would love to see ghosts actually even though they freak me out.  ;D And Pleasure because I like to play computer games most of the time and do what I want. I'm a freaky gamer.  ;D When I play sim me, I keep on changing her aspiration between Knowledge and Pleasure, though I don't like to date much, I'm rather happy by myself.  :D

Title: Re: What is your aspiration?
Post by: Renatus on 2005 December 21, 09:22:49
I would be divided between Pleasure(clothes? Why should I put on clothes?), Knowledge (because I do love to read and find things out - why else would I be considering going back to university for a mathematics degree that I want just for the hell of it?) and Popularity (writing! painting! but not so much with the parties and meeting billions of people, eurgh). Oh... and probably some Grilled Cheese.

Mmm, cheese. :d

Title: Re: What is your aspiration?
Post by: eaglezero on 2005 December 21, 09:34:14
My aspiration would be fortune. I like to buy stuff, and then buy more stuff. I'd also be part knowledge and part pleasure, because I really like learning new things and then just messing around (for instance, I have a slinky on my desk that I play with a lot, and I keep silly putty in my purse for when I'm bored and away from home).

There don't seem to be many other fortunes here. I wonder if they're all too busy working?

I think I'd be family.

But, while I'm waiting for someone to come along and contribute their genetic material, the Sims is a reasonable substitute. Even the adult sims are so childlike. Of course, given the things I do to my sims, perhaps it's a good idea that I haven't started my own family yet. ;)

Title: Re: What is your aspiration?
Post by: Ancient Sim on 2005 December 23, 16:22:27
Difficult one to answer this because iI would probably be a Creativity Sim and there isn't such a thing.  I've always plumped for Knowledge because that's the sort of kid I was and I do have the most amazingly high IQ (well, it's TRUE, so why can't I brag about it!), but reading this I am beginning to wonder if Pleasure is more my 'thing' insofar as I will happily sit here at the pc surrounded by rotting food (yeah, with flies) and not bat an eyelid, but that's more the Laziness aspiration really (except there isn't one).  Then, of course, there's my long-standing interest in the paranormal, which goes with Knowledge.  I am definitely not Family (even though I do have 5 kids) and I'm not Romance (even though I was somewhat flighty as a teen).   Ideally I'd be the Hermit aspiration (along the lines of "Don't ever knock on my door and expect to be invited in because I'll just pretend I'm not here"), but that doesn't exist either.  In fact, the perfect one would be the Lazy Creative Curious Eccentric Bohemian Hermit, or something along those lines (I do have a blog called Eccentric Bohemian Hermits, as it happens).  Perhaps I am just the original Bohemian Rhapsody.  Aw, shucks, now I will get all upset about Freddie again.

Anyway, I've voted for Knowledge because it's the nearest I can get, even though it's not really ideal because I was far too lazy to go to Uni.

Hermit aspiration! Now that definitely suits me perfectly!  :D
