Title: The Chernobyl Contest!
Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 August 29, 02:22:08
OBJECTIVE:

Using two CAS sims that appear physically normal, breed them in "create-a-baby" CAS to create a warped, inhuman mutant! Post the images. Be sure to get both the parent sims and the resulting baby in the "create a baby" screen (don't commit the sim, otherwise we can't tell if you tweaked it)! Remember, the parents have to look normal, but the spawn has to be a mutant. Entries will be voted on by a panel of judges. Winner will receive a free month's subscription. Let's see some mutants!

OFFICIAL RULESET
1. Sims should appear physically normal from the perspective shown. They may be ugly, but they have to look like actual people.
2. All sims must be shown from the same angle. No trying to hide the faults of the parents that you then graphically display in the children through angle tricks.
3. Entries will be submitted in a CAS create-a-baby as per the above.
4. Resulting children should be depicted at the adult age. Sim-children ALWAYS look a little weird.

Question:  Is there a specific agegroup that the spawn must be in or are we free to select the most hideous?

Lovely, I could post pictures of the spawn in my neighborhood.   ::)

The spawn should be adult, as looking kinda odd is very common pre-adult, and facial features are not fully formed yet.

Well, that makes things reasonably challenging then.  I'll see if I can come up with anything worth entering sometime in the morning when my brain's actually working.

Tricky. I have a couple of born-in game freaks, but they would seem to be ineligible. Check out Mungo from my avatar and the latest legacy chapter: http://thesims2.ea.com/exchange/story_detail.php?asset_id=112176

Meh. Those are merely ugly, not inhumanly deformed. It's not enough to produce ugly sims, they have to resemble monsters!

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!
Post by: rohina on 2006 August 29, 14:16:27
Oh, I see. Well the bar may be quite impossibly low, then.  :D

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!
Post by: kewian on 2006 August 29, 16:44:32
maybe it would help if you had a picture of what you would consider a monster as a guideline?

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!
Post by: Jelenedra on 2006 August 29, 18:07:54
Candie's Uglacy might be a good place to pull examples from.

I take it we're not allowed to use custom celebrity sims? As those ALWAYS make hideous fugaly children.

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!
Post by: ElfPuddle on 2006 August 29, 18:29:32
The rules as stated do leave that loophole open...it says nothing about binned sims....

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!
Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 August 29, 21:59:25
Any sim that you can make is legal, including binned or bodyshop sims. However, they must look normal, and the resulting spawn (You can click the pacifier to reroll as many as you want) must then come out as mutants....the more mutated, the better! Remember, merely ugly doesn't win: They have to look inhumanly ugly!

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!

Hmmmm. I seem to recall some Happymoonbelly elven-type sims who looked okay but made unfortunate children...

And where do we post pictures of this?

Hmmmm. I seem to recall some Happymoonbelly elven-type sims who looked okay but made unfortunate children...
I'm pretty sure those already don't qualify as normal-people.

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!
Post by: rohina on 2006 August 30, 05:46:22
See, this is where we need some more defined parameters. Define "normal-looking" for parents.

Also, minor technical question: how do I get the required photos from CAS? Yes, yes, point and laugh.

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!
Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 August 30, 05:54:27
You can't feed people who are freakishly deformed. Your score will be based on how good the parents look compared to how inhumanly ugly the resulting spawn is. If you feed in mutants and get mutants out, we won't be impressed. To get the required photos from CAS, simply hit printscreen while inside the CAS "make baby" section and then open up MSPAINT and paste. Then chop off irrelevant stuff that isn't important and save as jpg.

You ought to ask Hegeligan about sim-Emma's spawn :-X Yuk is the only word to describe the poor little thing. I don't know if he is an adult yet in Heg's game though.

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!

I should add a Sim-Emma to my game sometime. And move you into that fine and excellent bathroomless house you had somewhere on Reggikkoland. Which one was it again?

Apologies for double-posting, but to get back on topic...

In order to clarify the rules, I submit the following hypothetical entry.

Question(1): does the dad qualify as "normal-looking"? Admittedly, he is fugly, but his face is one of the templates in CAS. I didn't move the sliders at all.
Question (2): does the kid qualify as a mutant, or is he still just ugly?

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!
Post by: kutto on 2006 August 31, 00:47:38
Wow, he looks like every person in my legacy. :P

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!
Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 August 31, 01:06:48
That's somewhat mutated, but considering your source input, we're unsurprised. Neither of those sims is exactly stunning. Ugly in, ugly out.

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!
Post by: Avalikia on 2006 August 31, 01:10:08
So are you saying that rohina's hypothetical entry would qualify for the contest, but she'd lose points because the difference in mutatedness/ugliness between the parents and the spawn isn't drastic enough?

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!
Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 August 31, 01:23:25
Pretty much. I mean, Fishlips Gorillaface isn't really that normal-looking.

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!
Post by: rohina on 2006 August 31, 01:31:07
Fishlips Gorillaface was a template sim. But okay, I have a better idea of the rules, then.

Ok so I know its really a matter of ugly in, ugly out... but I saw this guy on MTS2 today and just couldn't resist. I paired him with another "celebrity", also taken directly from MTS2 just for this picture and then promptly deleted. She is equally as annoying and equally as mystifying to me why so popular. I probably could have clicked the button a few more times to get something even more hideous but the first result was pretty scary and proof enough that sometimes people and sims just shouldn't breed.

Sim-on-the-left is too not-normal-appearing to qualify.

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!
Post by: Meska on 2006 August 31, 06:04:40
You've rejected an original in-game template and a real life model. Your definition of normal is getting smaller and smaller. Although yes, I suppose you can't really qualify either Paris Hilton or Flaver Flav as "normal" anything. So I see your point. ^.^

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!
Post by: Ellatrue on 2006 August 31, 07:15:01
How is that fishlips template NOT "freakishly deformed?" And while the original Flav guy looked like a real person, the sim had no jaw. It was like some horrible accident victim producing an even more frightening child that kind of looks like Michael Jackson, only even scarier!

I'm tempted to try with a Pescado sim to see if that gets rejected too.

I wonder how I'll look without lips?

I don't think that was a very good sim-ification of that dude. The ORIGINAL dude looks semi-normal. The SIM looks like a gross caricature at best. It's not very good simming.

Post by: neriana on 2006 August 31, 07:35:52
I agree with J.M. about the Flave Sim. It was freakish and not like the original guy at all.

I seem only able to get ugly, not actually deformed. Perhaps it's because I use AllenBBQ's templates. Lots of fugliness, no actual mutation after much trying.

Edit: Ah, just noticed the "Adult Spawn" rule. Blast.

Okay, here's an Adult Spawn from two Sims.  It's all about perspective, really.

Yeah, let's see the parent sims from the SIDE. Show the sims from the same angle, I think you're hiding something.

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!
Post by: notovny on 2006 August 31, 13:22:43
Of course I'm hiding something. And, unfortunately, I closed the window and lost the sims after I posted the picture.

I can say that, while Dad's jutting jaw is obvious from the side, his hairstyle effectively hid his concave forehead.

In all three shots, Mom's perfectly normal, except for the fact that each of her eyes are on the opposite sides of the face that they'd normally be.

Ugh, I started doing this and couldn't stop. It's addictive.

One of the first attempts, merely ugly:

Then fugly:

Slow "improvement":

The last one also has an especially bulbous, inhuman forehead, but that was harder to get in the picture.

They were great. The creepy eyes on Pointy Chin Woman!

I am trying to find some sims I downloaded and then deleted because they made such ugly kids. Who knew I would want them again?

Title: Re: The Chernobyl Contest!
Post by: rohina on 2006 September 02, 02:16:24
'pologies again for double posting. I've been experimenting. None of mine are as hideous as Ellatrue's, but I started with sims who I thought actually looked okay.

First up is sim me and Mungo from my legacy, who has previously been deemed "ugly but not deformed". Progeny was unspectacular from the front, but the profile was pretty weird.

Then we have sim me (male version) plus jfed, who promised her simself produced ugly kids.

And finally, two random CAS sims.

Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 September 05, 01:51:48
Eh, starey-guy isn't that weird. In fact, by my standards, he's normal. The only thing that makes him look weird is his apparently nonstandard eyes. I had an uncle that looked like that.

Was your uncle drinking out of Butte's Pit? Because those eyes are not normal at all.

I couldn't resist using JM in this.  I removed his beard and mated him with various people, including Sim Me, Julia Roberts & Gwen Stefano, but none of them produced weird enough looking kids.  I then tried a Self Sim I originally downloaded from MTS2 who is one of the characters in my neighbourhood.  I removed her custom hair, but that's all I did to her.  The resulting kids were nearly all pretty gross, but I think this was the best (or worst, depending on how you look at it).  There is no way this guy is normal.  One of his eyes is bigger than the other for a start, although looking closely at his 'mother', she seems to have the same problem (never noticed that before).  He has a worse case of it, though.  One eyelid seems to be sort of hooded, whereas the other isn't, or maybe he has a stye.

Probably me. :P I always felt kids weren't beaten enough. Also, that's not a very good self-sim rendition of me. My eyebrows are thinner and straighter. And angrier. And a whole host of other things that defy description.

Well, I downloaded it from here, from the Made-Up Animals thread.  All I did was remove the beard and alter the hairdo.  My 9-year-old son chose that one, probably because it's the nearest to his.  Anyway, how does it score in the mutant stakes?  I think it's pretty mutated.

The sim is ugly, but not abnormal looking. The mother looks weirder.

Try combining two sims with noses and cheeks in different places. Your parent sims have the same nose and pointy chin, thus minimizing the possible fugly outcomes.
