601  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Content created pre-ofb won't show up post-ofb - daemon tools? on: 2006 April 29, 23:39:37
Update - I managed to convince the creator to un-install daemon tools and have a play, now all the old content is showing for her, and she can copy it to make it show up for us.
One strange thing I did notice is the clothing files were missing text list, binary index and had a different material definition thread.
I'm not sure what difference that would make.
I did how ever want to say thanks as at the request of one of the co-owners I posted this thread on MTS2 where I was told that my thread was locked because of piracy. I personally would like to slap those who make MTS2 policy around the head with a frozen trout, as my problem was not a pirate copy, nor was I advocating piracy.
Thanks to all of you! I finally was able to convince my co-owners that this place is really More Awesome than anywhere.

Edit: I would like to give my thanks to SimSample on the MTS2 boards for assisting me!

I have no problem with any of my custom content except for the stuff made pre ofb by the user with Daemon tools.
Its really weird...

Its not the custom content disabler, as I have 2GB in my game.
See we are rephotographing all the stuff, and it won't show up in CAS. 1/3 of her content is non existant.
For those who use Daemon, have you got content that *you* created before OFB showing up? She is the only one who uses it, and its those who don't that can't see it...
Not sure about bodyshop, I'll try there and report back.
EDIT: I've just checked and it will not show in post OFB bodyshop either

604  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Content created pre-ofb won't show up post-ofb - daemon tools? on: 2006 April 26, 23:05:51
I have a creator on my site who has been using daemon tools since day 1 to play her game.
Content that has been created pre ofb is now not showing up in any post ofb game.
Its been tried on systems with and with out patch, with and without FF pack.
Is it possible that something in the maxis code knows that daemon tools was involved and has FUBAR'ed these files?
Is it possible that the clothing code has changed enough to do this with OFB?
I'm at a loss and its a lot of work to do over.
I'm hoping someone can help
Thanks

I would say that paricular modder has gotten very arrogant, and I would be inclined to stay the heck away from his stuff incase in created a BFBVFS.
Total disrespect to the community.

Squinge has a new version up http://www.insimenator.net/showthread.php?t=7926 I'm gonna give it a try, stops all the needless births in my game until i get my preferred gender. (The neighbourhood rule is you birth it, you keep it - no reloading).

I have the phone hack in now and it works fine.
So does the pay at the box. testing other as I go through.
All my objects and meshes show fine, just a couple of flashing blue items until I reselect the texture (it was still there)
Its going well so far.  Grin
