76  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Family Funds on: 2007 May 26, 22:38:43
For me, it stopped working once I combined households. Anyway, it's too cheaty; I just use the money order now.
77  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: No more freeloading at the dorms on: 2007 May 26, 05:04:51
I abhor dorms. Most of my college sims either share a house with a roommate or join a Greek house. I like expensive furniture, but it's much more plausible if the Sims actually worked for it.

If you're ever desperate for money, just use the counterfeiter. It's a quick, 'reliable' way to make money in university. With the no20khandouts, my graduating sims (who live in normal housing) usually have around 5k to spend.
78  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Point me to teen lifetime adjustment hack? on: 2007 May 24, 20:18:23
Are you sure it was a hack? They could've just 'shortened' the teen lifespan by sending them to college early.
79  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can't Install Sims 2? on: 2007 May 21, 17:58:27
Okay, it finally works.  Smiley I went through with the hard drive process, and repaired the corrupted zip using winrar. Now...onto UNI installation!
80  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pregnancy at uni on: 2007 May 21, 17:54:41
I got one of my YAs pregnant once, using christianlov's Easy Bed. When she graduated, the baby was left in the greek house and the lot crashed every time I tried to use it. Undecided

My CD isn't dirty, it's literally scratched.
82  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can't Install Sims 2? on: 2007 May 20, 14:10:50
As it turns out, just the "compressed" zip in the first disk has an error. It seems I'll have to get it replaced, then. Do you think you could upload it? The only file I'm having trouble dumping into the Disk1 folder is that zipped folder.
83  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Can't Install Sims 2? on: 2007 May 20, 13:37:51
I was trying to reinstall the Sims 2 on my new computer, but this message keeps popping up:

"A problem occured when trying to transfer the file 'TSData\Res\Sound\Voices5.package' from them media."

At first I thought it was just my CD (since it looks kind of scratched and defect), and I thought, Hey! I'm just going to download this off a torrent. But I googled this error and several other people seem to have it as well. If it's a problem with my computer, then I'm pretty sure none of the torrents would work.

I found a diagnosis/solution over here, but that seems like a lot of trouble to go through. Should I just install it off a torrent and see what happens?
84  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Poll: How do you feel about accidental deaths in the Sims 2? on: 2007 March 29, 21:58:36
I've had a pure, 100% accidental death when I installed Seasons. My sim was raking leaves during Fall, and when I chose to burn the leaves, the Sim decided to walk over the leaves.  Lips sealed A rather stupid decision, really, since he immediately caught on fire and nobody was around to extinguish him. The guy owned four business, too, and they were all inherited by his sister.
85  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons: What mods are you already begging for? on: 2007 March 25, 16:07:31
Served juice remains permanently fresh, I think. I've kept a tray of that boot juice around for some time now. I like how juices fulfill the sims' hunger completely, and doesn't make them gain unnecessary weight.

The Statue look and the Peacock Cut. Nothing spectacular, mind you, but still deserves to be pointed and laughed at.

It is possible to contract the plague at work, and it may still be cold during the summer. Outdoor temperature is not clearly indicated anywhere in the game and therefore there is no obvious way to tell what it is. However, if you have the fixes installed, sims will not have spontaneously generated plague, so someone else passing by with the plague must have caused it.

The visitors passing by all had colds, so that may have partially caused it. Also, I realized I installed both your warmth fix and DJ's hot-tub-isn't-hot mod. Tongue Blegh. The colds stopped coming after I removed it.

The shopping would be less of a nuisance if it didn't entail long loading times for lot transitions, such as if the sim would simply drive off lot and return shortly with the goods and less money.

In that case, the 'Deliver Groceries' option comes in handy. I think you might have to pay a delivery fee, but my Sims are rich enough anyway. There should be more possibilites of bankrupting a family or something.
88  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons: What mods are you already begging for? on: 2007 March 16, 19:24:22
Tongue I actually like how our Sims have to go grocery shopping once in a while; it makes the game much more realistic.

Different playing styles, I guess.
89  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Juicer Tweaks - Recipe Book, Stocked Produce Count, and More! on: 2007 March 16, 14:39:05
This is a very useful tool, but when I tried it out in-game, I noticed 'Pepper Punch' was missing from the recipe list.  Huh Is this because Pepper Punch doesn't have any effects?
90  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons: What mods are you already begging for? on: 2007 March 16, 02:32:50
That's the "Spontaneous Plague" at work. Get the Warmth Fixes, it should stop these random events.

I got the mod, but the diseases still keep coming. My Sims even got a cold in the Summer.
91  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons: What mods are you already begging for? on: 2007 March 14, 16:55:28
Is anybody else experiencing problems with their Sims getting colds? I just moved a new couple into a lot in Springtime, and they start coughing. A few minutes later, the "Alyssa has a cold!" message pops up. They're fine for a while after I cure them with orange juice, but a few minutes later, they start coughing and the message pops up again. This stupid influenza has been driving me nuts.  Angry
92  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons: What mods are you already begging for? on: 2007 March 14, 01:13:32
I would like a mod that makes hungry Sims take leftovers from the fridge before they make a whole new meal. I have never seen autonomous left over taking, not even in child sims.

Seconded. Also, Squinge's no-autonomous-cooking hack doesn't work.
93  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do I make art appreciate? on: 2007 March 13, 15:39:49
I don't think I've ever kept a painting around for the Sim to die. o: All my painters are usually popularity-aspiring sims, and I sell the painting right after the "Sell a Masterpiece" want spawns. I like the idea of the painting doubling in value, though. I'll try it sometime.
94  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Selling House And Leaving Furnishings on: 2007 March 09, 01:15:08
I'm a tad confused as well.

I always build lots in 'construction mode' instead of moving Sims in to do it, and after I'm done furnishing the lot, I go to the neighbourhood screen and move the furnished house back into the lot bin. If I proceed to take the lot out of the lot bin to place into the neighbourhood, I have both a packaged lot in the bin AND one placed in the neighbourhood. Both are fully furnished and ready-to-use.

If there's a problem with this method, I haven't encountered it.  Tongue
95  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Accurate recipes of Juices and Juice bugs! on: 2007 March 09, 01:01:32
Did you get this information from a guide on TSR, perchance?

And as for the orangeade, I never really understood it; I had one of my Sims drink it, but I didn't get a message claiming they received a badge or whatnot.  Undecided Eh.
96  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons: Plant sims on: 2007 March 07, 13:18:07
I find plantsims tiring to play because they never go to sleep!  I had no idea that I needed the momentary respite while my sims slept, but it looks as if I do.  Sure, I could pause the game, but I like having a down period while my sims are peacefully sleeping and I'm thinking about what to have them do the next day.  There's more of a "God's watching over you" feeling if I think about them while they sleep, as opposed to when I'm pausing the game. :-)

Actually, they do go to sleep. Shocked You can send them to bed like any other Sim...the difference is the fact that they don't need sleep.
97  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Unneeded Coats on: 2007 March 03, 18:28:20
So the Sims will automatically change into coats when the weather is cold enough to freeze, but they'll stay in their normal clothes if the temperature's warm enough?

(By the way, are you Pescado or something?)
98  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: missing expansion packs = missing Life Time Wants? on: 2006 November 08, 20:22:31
Yeah, Maxis should really rethink their testing process before releasing the game.  Undecided

Anyhow, looks like those wants are UNI-only. If that's the case, then there should be a simple solution to the problem: Request a god-modder to implant those Wants using Simpe! They did it with the UNI careers, so it should be possible with 20 woohoo/lovers/bfs too.
99  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: missing expansion packs = missing Life Time Wants? on: 2006 November 08, 03:37:09
I've been having the same problems. I even made a thread in insim.net to discuss it. I have base + NL + OFB + Pets.

Are you sure the 20 simultaneous best friend/lovers/woohoo is UNI-only? ): That's a little disappointing.
