Have you tried removing your saved sims folder?

*facepalm* This worked. I can't believe I didn't think of it before. Thanks so much!
52  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Bodyshop problems- related to No-CD? on: 2007 December 21, 19:54:58
CAS works perfectly, and Bodyshop crashes even with no downloads.
53  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Bodyshop problems- related to No-CD? on: 2007 December 21, 19:42:26
Still unable to get Bodyshop to work. I looked on both the Bon Voyage CDs, but didn't see anything related to Bodyshop :/

Please, I really need Bodyshop back, and would appreciate any help. I'm guessing at this point I have to reinstall- can I just reinstall Bon Voyage, or do I have to reinstall everything? How do I reinstall without getting Securom back? And most importantly, how do I save my neighborhoods? I have a lot invested in a couple of them, including a custom neighborhood.

Please, help.

I still have no Bodyshop. It won't open without crashing. Is it possible to get the Bodyshop files off the CD, or am I going to have to reinstall my game?
55  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Bodyshop problems- related to No-CD? on: 2007 December 11, 04:11:10
My Bodyshop behaves the same way since BV. It crashes pretty much any time I try to run it. Deleting groups.cache, accessories.cache and cigen will allow it to run the next time I try to open it, although sometimes I have to reboot before it'll work.

I deleted both groups.cache and accessories.cache- I had no cigen, for some reason, though I know I used to. That's kind of troubling. Still no go- crashing every time I try to open it, and each time it crashes, it generates a .mdmp and a .txt file, but no cigen or groups or accessories. *Sigh*
56  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Bodyshop problems- related to No-CD? on: 2007 December 10, 20:11:37
The noCD cannot crash bodyshop, as Bodyshop is its own executable and does not use anything that the noCD replaces.

Well, at least I can rule that out. It must be Bodyshop itself, then. *ponders*

I'm having an issue with Bodyshop. Trying to open BV Bodyshop results in a "this application has crashed. This application will now terminate" message every time I try to start it up. Is this because I'm using the No-CD? Is there some way around this?
58  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Constant momentary freezing. Stupid BV? Stupid computer? Or something else? on: 2007 December 04, 21:32:12
Dumb question, but I'm really new to using cracks. Would the new patch-compatible crack be the 10/30 version posted up by Fairlight? I don't see a newer one, unless I'm missing it?
59  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Creating townies/etc using tree? on: 2007 November 12, 20:35:29
Since when was it broken? I seem to recall the NPC & Townie maker has worked fine since Nightlife. And if you're batch creating sims, you can just use the mailbox.

That's the thing, I haven't used it since probably University, so I wasn't sure if it had ever worked again or not, I've just recently started using empty templates. Thanks Smiley
60  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Creating townies/etc using tree? on: 2007 November 12, 11:38:19
Is the townie/downtownie/NPC/etc tree still broken? I'm starting up an Apocalypse challenge, but thanks to empty templates, I've got no townies or downtownies. And while I can create them in CAS and use the shrub to make them townies/downtownies, I almost feel like it's cheating. So is the Maxis creator tree still off-limits for batch-making townies/downtownies, or could I use it and not get toy cars and clones?
61  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2007 October 08, 21:50:21
Thanks Zazazu, and here's one more. I don't wanna muck about in the registry too much because I'll probably break something, so I'm gonna ask to make double sure Smiley

I have the same thing, which one is it? *knows nothing about registries or anything, but doesn't want SecuRom on her computer, damnit!*
62  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage dissatisfaction on: 2007 September 20, 06:03:53
The lack of dancing is bothering me. Only one of my sims have been able to learn any of the local dances- the Traveller daughter, and that was by luck. They keep spinning up wants to learn the dances, but none of the locals will dance with them, or do tai chi. I can barely even get them to do the gestures! No one has fully mastered a gesture yet.

The lack of kid actions is also annoying. It was okay on the island, because Tina (the Travellers are my test family) could swim, and comb for shells, etc. But in the mountains, she's got nothing to do. It just seems lazy- they had so much potential, but no.
63  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Does this bother you as much as it does me? on: 2007 July 19, 23:05:55
It could also be the number of bolts. I recently had my first three-bolt couple (I can never get three-bolters, no matter what I change), and they're constantly autonomously flirting, kissing, hugging, making out, etc. They are Family and Knowledge.

I've never had a couple who was this into each other, not even romance sims!

forever_little, I downloaded your file, but what do I do with it? Just put it into downloads?
65  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to extract a sim? on: 2007 June 19, 09:44:58
i followed your directions for SimPE, and saved the sims in the default location like you said (SavedSims folder), but the sims aren't showing up in BodyShop. Should I have saved them somewhere else?
66  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / How to extract a sim? on: 2007 June 19, 07:22:53
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but I am so technologically challenged.

I made a couple of sims in CAS, didn't think anything of it, until I realized they were my favorite family. They've had ten kids, and I really like them as well, and would like copies of them, not only for myself to plop down to play in other neighborhoods, but some friends of mine would like a few of them as well.

I know there's a way to extract a copy of the sim from the game, but I have no idea how. I never use SimPE, so could someone maybe point me to a easy, step-by-step tutorial on how to do this?

Thanks in advance.

68  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Second Seasons Patch is out.... on: 2007 June 14, 09:16:53
My criers were having issues with Fun, not Social. Just to throw a wrench in the works.

Unfortunately, I had to uninstall/reinstall Seasons, then got H&M, then patched in between plays. So I'm not sure which part is giving me issues. I blame H&M for the 24-hour clock and some renames, but I'm thinking that the Seasons patch is why showers are now warming my sims much too much, and additional issues with not changing out of coats. I expect another note from a Maxoid saying "we know, we know, we fucked up the coats again" soon.

I just grew up a baby tonight. He never stopped crying, even with cuddling and playing, except to sleep. When he grew up into a toddler, his social was full green, but his fun was completely bottomed out. Now, even more obnoxiously, he keeps stopping playing to throw a tantrum about his fun being low. I hate cheating, but I might have to drag his fun up just so the rest of the house can get something done, and so the toddler can skill.

So yeah- my problem is fun, not social.
69  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Odd Error (from nanny?) on: 2007 June 14, 07:32:06
I wish I knew why the computer hates nannies, but whatever, deleted the computer and the errors stopped.

I'm having another error, though, related to macro/clean (I didn't know whether it was okay to start another new post so soon or not). Whenever my sims go to take out the trash, it errors and I'm forced to hit reset, causing the whole macro/clean to stop. I have a composter and a trash can, so I'm not sure why it's happening.
70  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Odd Error (from nanny?) on: 2007 June 14, 04:57:06
I never use nannies, so this may be why this is the first time I've seen this error.

I had to hire a nanny because I had a single sim who was abducted and had an alien baby. Before a workday for the sim (Ryan) came around, he got married and his husband moved in. I forgot I'd hired the nanny, but she showed up so I decided to send Ryan off to work. They had been in the basement, and everything was fine, but as soon as the nanny walked into the basement with Ray (the husband), I started getting error and error. I had to quit the game, they wouldn't stop.

I'm assuming the MQ in the error is Monique's computer, but I don't understand why it errored, as it has never caused an error for me before, and I've added nothing new to my game since last night. Any ideas? I'd hate to have to get rid of the computer, it's so handy.

One of the error logs is attached.
71  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Compost All? on: 2007 June 08, 23:09:44
Uncertain. Does macro-trash do it?

Nope. I just tried Macro/Take Out Trash, and while my selfsim did run inside and get the kitchen trash and put it in the composter, she ignored the piles of leaves.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think if you click on the compost bin when you have leaves, it will give you the option to "Gather compostable materials" and that makes them do it.  Doesn't work with newspapers, unfortunately.  Works with dropped piles of garbage, though.

You're right, this did the trick. I didn't think to click on the compost bin itself.

Thanks so much!
72  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Compost All? on: 2007 June 08, 23:02:41
I've got something that has been bothering me. Is there a way to compost all the leaf piles in one swoop? Business/Be Farmer will rake all the piles, but then I have to individually click on all the piles of leaves to add them to the compost bin. Is there a function I'm missing where I can click compost all?

It's nothing game-breaking, just an annoyance.
73  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Stopping Ghosts in Seasons on: 2007 June 02, 08:38:21
I found that if you build a mausoleum on a foundation, and don't add a door, the ghosts can't get out of the mausoleum, even if you have stairs. They'll just roam around in there.
74  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Seasons - Temperature Studies - Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Over? on: 2007 April 04, 01:37:14
If you do not have SShack, the warning is meaningless, as you either lose instantly via sudden-death or you are unaffected entirely. The warning does not at all trigger in any kind of timely manner. If you *DO* have sshack, the warning means you have 3 hours or so to do something about it, which should be plenty.

Yes, I have sshack. I just sent him off on the bus, as I got the warning just as it hit 8am, and when he got home from school, his temp was back to normal.
75  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Seasons - Temperature Studies - Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Over? on: 2007 April 02, 07:47:48
I had something weird today: a kid was jumping on his bed for an hour (before the bus came) then a box popped up warning me that he was overheated and if I didn't cool him down, the social worker would be coming to take him. Sure enough, when I looked, his temperature gauge was maxed out.

Has anyone else experienced this?
