26  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Very strange error when loading house on: 2008 December 23, 01:51:14
Now, I admit I've been lax about backing up my game (as in, I haven't at all), and this is a rather important sim for my Legacy. What can I do to fix this?
This looks like a case of Tight Pants, as this error cannot occur under the normal code. And what exactly *IS* your avatar supposed to be? Some kind of bizarre Rorshach blob?

Looks like I'm in for some binary searching. Weird, I haven't added anything lately, and he's the only file affected. And my avatar is Helba from the .hack// video game series; you can see the full image here.

Is that sim a vampire/werewolf/plantman/etc. or has sunburn or frost?

No, that's the strange thing. He was totally normal, not even a tan. He'd only been in the house about half a day.
28  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Very strange error when loading house on: 2008 December 23, 00:23:58
One of my sims is throwing constant errors anytime I try to open his house. The only way to stop the erroring (and exit the house) is to delete him. Now he is showing up as invisible in his preview box, and the deleting/save/exit/reload isn't fixing the error. I've moved him out of his house, bulldozed and moved him into a new one with no change.

Log attached. *edit: correct log attached now!*

Though I can never top that terrifying alien baby-child, here are some of my most recent interesting graphical glitches:

I can't remember their names (Patrizio and... someone? It's Romeo and Mercutio Monty's grandparents in Veronaville), but this is the result of accidentally ordering them to use the clothing tool at the same time.

And, thanks to M&G, a few new annoying glitches (hopefully, updating my drivers will fix this):

Children are invisible underwater!

All glasses are sunglasses! That reflect the hair!

Oh, this was the house I played my first CAS family in, way back in the day. Memories! I can't wait to see how everyone transforms it.
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Game not loading? on: 2008 October 11, 03:06:46
Have you tried deleting groups.cache? This happens to me a lot, and once I delete that, the game runs as usual.
32  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Let's Play Dress-Up! on: 2008 September 14, 20:07:17
Do you have Squinge's hack that lets pregnant people wear normal clothes? This exact thing happened to me (not in AL, but when I used the hack in previous expansion packs) when I used the hack in any house with a dresser.
33  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Neighborhood Terrain Surgery - no roads/weird terrain? on: 2008 September 08, 09:49:49
That worked perfectly, thank you!
34  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Neighborhood Terrain Surgery - no roads/weird terrain? on: 2008 September 08, 05:55:24
I needed to fix the terrain of one of my neighborhoods (I wish I'd known the Desiderata terrain would flood anything with basements before I established my Legacy there), so I followed the instructions in the War Room, using the post on page 4 that said:

With Bon Voyage and SimPe 0.64.5.39932 the four resources to replace during neighborhood terrain reassignment surgery are

- Neighborhood Terrain
- Neighborhood Terrain Geometry
- TATT
- UNK 0xEC44BDDC

I replaced these, but ended up with no roads and an odd terrain that essentially looks like a SC4 terrain, not the Sleepycat terrain it's supposed to be:

What am I missing?
35  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 August 31, 08:23:33
It's a tiny, nitpicky thing, but I can't help but notice it. When those (I'm assuming) reputation pop-ups come up, saying "Oh, I work in a furniture store, here's a discount, blah blah" or "You're in Law! You deserve a pay raise!", instead of saying the name of the sim who is getting the benefit, it says the name of the sim giving it. I just had two in a row, and when it said, "<name>, you deserve a pay raise", instead of having Aurora's name there (who was the sim receiving the benefit), it had the names of the sims giving the benefit (so it said, "Xavier, you deserve a pay raise" and "Maddison, here's a discount")

Like I said, nitpicky, but it's getting on my nerves.
36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Yet Another Breeding-Related Question on: 2008 August 10, 07:59:45
Does first-born syndrome always happen, or only sometimes?
When you start the game after saving and exiting, the game will automatically produce your firstborn, Baby #13.  So if you have your sim give birth, save, exit, and have them give birth again, they will have the same baby again.  I've had a family with 20 kids before I knew about the Lot Debugger's function, and each of them is a clone of the other.

Just to be clear - it's the personality that is cloned, not the appearance of the sim.

Mine tend to be identical in both stats and looks- even when they're opposite sexes. I just had this happen because I am dumb.

38  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime Patch is out on: 2008 July 15, 03:06:08
I've found an annoyance since installing the patch- the always crying babies are back. I had my first babies born in-game since the patch, and both spent their entire infancy screaming unless being held, despite the fact that their portraits were green. When I grew them up, their fun bars were tanked, which never occured before the patch. Ugh, I thought this bug was long gone!
39  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Wardrobe Malfunction on: 2008 July 01, 03:54:47
I had this happen using Squinge's Wear Anything Pregnancy mod, maybe it's that?
40  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Unable to delete empty Storytelling folder? on: 2008 June 28, 00:02:21
Just a thought...Have you tried restarting your computer!??

I had a similar problem and it cleared up after a simple restart!

*facepalm* I feel like an absolute idiot. I don't know why I didn't try that... probably because I just had restarted my computer. Thanks so much.
41  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Unable to delete empty Storytelling folder? on: 2008 June 27, 23:39:15
I'm having a rather frustrating and confusing issue with my game files.

I was trying to have the game regenerate the default neighborhoods (Pleasantview, etc) and so after copying over the files and custom neighborhoods I wanted, went to delete the Neighborhoods folder. No good, says the "Storytelling" folder is in use and cannot be deleted. Except, nothing else is open. I manage to isolate the screwed-up folder, it's Strangetown's Storytelling folder. I delete everything inside the folder, still cannot delete it. By this point, the only thing inside the Neighborhoods folder is the empty N002 folder with the empty Storytelling folder inside. Not able to delete it, Storytelling is in use. I checked the Storytelling folder's properties, and it's marked as read-only, but even when I uncheck that and hit apply and ok, still unable to delete because it still shows itself as read-only.

Is there something I'm missing? Or should I just nuke the entire game from space and completely reinstall?
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So what the hell are the benefits of being in The Zone anyway? on: 2008 May 13, 02:04:17
I just had a sim go into the Zone last night while trying to get his gold flower-making badge. His moods still dropped, even with the Zone glow. Honestly, it didn't seem to do anything at all, which was a huge disappointment.
43  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 23, 02:32:44
I tried this with both sims, and neither left a tombstone. I followed your steps to the letter, so I'm not sure what went wrong. Guess I'll go back to the Bone Phone for now.

Do you have lnounlinkondelete? I think everyone here just assumes that you have most of the directors cut. Or else have forgotten what things have been fixed.

Yep, got the director's cut and nounlinkondelete. I don't know what went wrong, but I just ended up resurrecting them with the Bone Phone. Maybe it was the way their tombstones disappeared- when I moved house, it had been so long since I'd moved with graves that I stuck the graves in my sim's inventory. When they got to the new house, new "dummy" graves were in the inventory, and the real graves were sitting on the curb. Unfortunately, I am dumb and deleted the real graves, and didn't notice until after I'd saved.
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 22, 03:56:47
How do you respawn them? I unfortunately lost my legacy founder and her husband's graves when I moved houses. Is the only way resurrect with Bone Phone -> kill with boolprop? I just hate doing it that way because everyone gets upset again, and gets new death memories, and gets inheritances again.

Pause the game and use a teleporter and summon the deceased to the lot. With testingcheats enabled, shift-click on the deceased Sim and make him/her selectable, then shift-click on the lot debugger and choose the respawn tombstone option. Make another Sim active, shift-click on the deceased again and make him/her unselectable again. Unpause the game and the deceased should fade away and be replaced by a shiny new tombstone.

I just noticed this in my legacy family: hot chocolate no longer increases energy in kids. Works fine for adults, but I had one kid in red-orange energy (at 10am! That's another thing, it seems like everytime I look at my sims' needs, their energy is bottoming out), so i hit macro/caffeinete so I wouldn't have to send the kid to bed at 10am. He drank the cup, went back for more, and his energy hadn't budged at all. Hot chocolate works fine for adults, though, so I don't really know what is going on.
47  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 03, 10:06:48
I've had a couple of issues, one being teens not being able to birdwatch. Adults can birdwatch just fine, but teens just put up the binoculars for a second, then lower them and exit out of the action. Also, the basketball court is driving me nuts, as even if you x out of the action, the sim still walks all the way over to the court. I also had this with homework- the child came home on the bus and took out her homework. I x-ed out the homework action so she'd drop it on the lawn, but she still paraded through the entire house to drop it upstairs.

Bees occur way too often when bug-hunting, and the bee action goes on for way too long. My test sim was bug-hunting, and she had two bee attacks within about 3 or 4 real-time minutes. Badges also are taking forever- in the Aspir house, the Grandfather got his bronze sewing badge in a decent amount of time. But the mother STILL hasn't earned a bronze sewing badge after DAYS of sewing.

I also think the enthusiasm drops a little quickly. It seems like I'm constantly getting pop-ups on how Sim X is losing enthusiasm in X Hobby, which is especially annoying when the sim only had a point or two in the hobby in the first place. My sim doesn't bug-hunt for a day and her maxed nature enthusiasm drops a point? Annoying.

That would be awesome. I have a number of dogs who have chosen to pee on the sidewalk in front of the mailbox- technically outside, but still leaves a puddle I have to mop up.
49  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: College Rampage borked? on: 2008 January 27, 07:58:12
I'm pretty sure I haven't added any hacked related to college or bookcases or anything like that recently, but I'll look again.
50  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / College Rampage borked? on: 2008 January 27, 07:32:43
I'm having a problem with College Rampage, but only occasionally. The "college/do research" option on my bookcases just vanishes. Sometimes it's there, and sometimes it's not, but when it isn't, college rampage fails. The sim will go up to the bookcase and just stand there, with the college rampage icon flickering up in the corner, and they'll stay there, needs dropping, until I manually cancel it. They won't move on to do assignment instead. This is really getting frustrating, because I'm trying to get the last four Gen 3 spares of my Legacy graduated, and half the time college rampage isn't working. This happens on both regular bookcases and the Education career reward bookcase- either all bookcases work, or all don't have the option. This first started happening on their old Greek House lot, I moved them to a new lot but the problem keeps happening.

I forced error on the bookcase and attached the log. I'm not sure if it is what you need, but I figured it was worth a shot.
