Title: Seeking an older version of skillinator
Post by: Ness on 2006 April 17, 13:31:50
It seems Pescado has left us with a dodgy skillinator package - it keeps dropping out when it needs to call another macro.

What I'm wondering is if anyone has kept an older version of skillinator that is still OFB-compatible.

The version in the hacks directory is dated 27/03/2006, 6:39am.
The version in the directors cut is dated 6/04/2006, 8:23am.

The directors cut version is slightly more stable than the other, but neither are working well for me.  I'm about ready to go back to a NL version of it, but if someone has an OFB version EARLIER than the two above, hopefully with the badges added, I will be forever greatful!

I am using the latest NL version that I just updated with a few days ago, and I have noticed some strange behavior as well.  I've noticed strangeness with Macrotastics as well, so I'm not sure it's limited to the Skillinator.  It seems that I used to be able to queue Macro > Repair and then Macro > Clean, but now they will quit doing one and start doing the other instead of finishing the first macro, then going to the next.  I wish I had kept the old hacks instead of replacing them.  *sigh*  I might have an older version stuck in a macrotastics.zip file on my PC.  I'll have to look and see.

I've searched around my computer and any older versions I had have been lost in the computer upgrade...  unless Mr Ness has found a weird and wonderful place to put them...  I'm not having the issues with queueing macros up - just if skillinator calls another macro...

So far, it's not looking good for me to be able to locate an older, stable version...  :'(

Ness, I have one dated 04/02/ 2006.   If you want it PM me with your e-mail address.    I will send it to you.     Is that the only file you need?    I can send the whole thing to you if your e-mail box can handle it.

Marg, I have PM'ed you with my email address...  I'm assuming with the American tendency to do dates different to us Aussies, that the date on yours is the 2nd of April?

Actually I think it is dated Feb 4.    Looking at the rest of the files in this particular Directors cut it can only be Feb.     It's on it's way to you now.

edited for spelling ;D

I've got two old ones: March 7 and March 19. OFB compatible.

Sara - disregard the PM I sent you...

located someone in chat, and when I went back to the ENTIRE directors cut from March 19 everything started working perfectly.

Those of you who have the March 19 version - I'd suggest not changing a thing...  if you absolutely must, keep a back up!

Ok, I need to 'fess up...

turns out the problem was caused by an old version of skillinator that was hiding in an odd place in my downloads folder.  It has been hunted down and sammarily destroyed, and now we find that the current version of skillinator works perfectly.

As you were.   :-[
