Title: Nvidia 6250LE Fail?
Post by: Spicey on 2008 April 28, 12:11:02
 ???

Anyone else notice issues with the above-named video card and the Package Installer?  I'd adjusted the settings so my game would run a little faster (and all my Sims have sparkly edges, but I can deal with that)  and the next time I tried to install some custom walls, my game crashed to the ground, and I got a systems error message relating to the Sims2Pack.  The clean installer was useless also.  All I could think of that I'd done was change the video setting, so I changed it back, rebooted, and now I'm back in business, but I'm still curious.  (Yes, I realize that the card is low-end, but when one lives under a bridge, one takes what one can find.)

Is there a possible connection between the two, or is this a tight pants issue?

Try putting the line "boolprop useShaders false" in your userStartup.cheat. There's a really annoying NVidia problem with Sims. I get random crashes with SLI'd 6800's if I don't have that line in my userStartup.cheat
