Title: How do you hide Maxis skins in the CAS?
Post by: lilydawn on 2009 March 07, 06:03:03
I know it is possible because there are several downloads where the creators of said downloads have blocked skins that they dislike.  They never match what I dislike (I hate the gorilla suits) and usually hide some that I use (I like the baby bear suits). I would love to see a tutorial on how to do it myself.  Can anyone at least give me an idea of where to start?

As far as I know, trying to hide the maxis skins would be a VBT and would give you invisible sims and / or severe borkage. They don't work like clothing files, I think your only option is to download default replacement skins to make them less-ugly instead.

I think lilydawn means she wants to block maxi's clothing that she doesn't like.

lilydawn have you searched at MTS2 for a tutorial?

For my own game, I downloaded hacks that hid all of the worst clothing and then opened it with SimPE and deleted all of the files that related to the items I wanted to keep.

Try on of the hacks by Jordi as your base:

You will learn all you need about hiding stuff from Ambular's Artifacts:

BTW, 'skin' is leftover from the Sims1, where we had faces and clothes, and they were called skins. 'Skin' in Sims2 is skintone.
