1026  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Deleting memories for dummies on: 2006 January 26, 00:02:23
well while people are waiting for JMs "memory deletion for dummies" version of the Lot Debugger

I will mention that the "Memories editor enhancements for SimPe" plugin that is in Peasantry, works great!  Cheesy

http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?topic=2590.0

this feature in particular is very handy for us memory editing dummies

**Experimental** - backup your neighborhood before use!
The function "Fix Memories" will scan the neighborhood's memories and delete all memories
that don't have a valid owner or subject instance (the corrupt death memories are included in this category).
It will try to synchronize the subject instance with the memory's Sim ID.
Moreover, this will remove multiple consecutive 'spam' memories, such as "Had a family reunion", "Vermin!",
leaving only the first memory in a connected set.

1027  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nina and Dina bore me to tears on: 2006 January 25, 02:59:06
*laughs* sims are only as boring as you let them be

The Oldies moved away (deleted)
The Burbs were moved into a nice home I built. Their daugher died from a falling object  Wink and John and Jennifer are now broke up and John lives with Brandi and his bastard daughter and Brandi's son (the 3rd one)

I restarted recently because I wanted the genes from the maxis pre-mades (mine all end up looking alike) after discovering that most of the pre-made children/teens/toddlers were not actually the true children of their pre-made parents, they either died young or moved away (deleted) except for Brandi's 3rd boy (the Brandi-clone one) The pre-made familys are currently having true-born children.

Mortimer Goth, Cassandra and (now) Alexander are dead (he was handy for babysitting).  Bella lives in the new Goth manor, with her (and Dons) three beautiful daughters  Grin

I redid Dina and Ninas house (which I did for every pre-made family) and after tweaking their personalitys with InSIM (why did Maxis make Nina a "very shy" Romance sim? I think even Daniel was very shy before I tweaked his personality and made him Knowledge)

Anyway, I did put off really playing Nina and Dina until last night, Darren Dreamer needed a new wife and seemed interested in Nina so after inviting her over, I enjoyed having her move in - then get engaged - then get pregnant (Darren "tried for a baby") - then get married... I had Darren do all the asking so you could say she did have a chance to say "no"  Wink  (not that they ever do, which is kind of sad) hmmmm I wonder if she will lose her mind when she has the baby  Grin  She seems happy enough even though she still wants to woohoo with Don (was locked and I haven't unlocked it) I had fun playing her and Darren for a change and She is actually quite beautiful with a good make-over and nice hair)

Dina ended up with the large house all to herself and a want to "have a baby"  Shocked   After a good make-over and new hair and getting a car alarm installed(buglar came while she was gone, she wasn't happy about that) I then sent her off to find a mate.  Don was at the Crypt (of course) but Dina didn't seem very interested (which is good since he has 3 kids with Bella already) (I then used InSIM to nix the crush hearts)
Well I decided to just watch and see who she seemed most interested in.

John Burb was there (3 bolts) and for once Brandi wasn't with him. Dina was very interested but John and brandi have 1 kid and are expecting another so I really didn't want Dina messing that relationship up. I noticed a downtownie(2 bolts) seemed very interested in Dina, kept giving her friendly hugs and wanting to talk to her and tell her jokes and stuff and she actually accepted the hugs. I felt she would have paid more attention to him if John wasn't there and if John didn't keep wanting to talk to her  Roll Eyes  Once Brandi showed up I had to really keep an eye on John!

Dina then wanted to do the "date thing" with the downtownie so I allowed it and they ended up with a dream date (both rolled wants for woohoo and woohoo in Dinas car, which they enjoyed)  I had Dina go home and go to work, she tried calling her downtownie the next day, he was working but after he got home he called up wanting to go downtown for another date. Well they had a great time and Dina ended up pregnant after some car woohoo so she asked him home with her and then asked him to move in. He then asked for her hand in marriage and shortly after they were married.

After that I quit playing for the night *had played for more then 8 hours*
1028  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I am a bit disturbed on: 2006 January 25, 01:53:16
now I could understand warning someone to "download at your own risk"  if a Lot or whatever is buggy or something but not because the files don't have proper names  Roll Eyes
1029  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Correcting the DNA of Strangetown premade characters on: 2006 January 24, 06:56:38
bc as long as he has the brown eye code the maxis eyecolor should have changed to the replacement.

aliens in my game go from having the alien eye color as babys/toddlers/children to - those brown maxis eyes as teens, then back to alien eye color as adults (can't remember about YAs)

and I have default eye replacements  Huh

I think the teen thing evens happens when I also have alien eye color replacements in, will be able to check that soon since Daniel Pleasant got abducted  Grin
1030  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Yet Another Hair Catagory Question - Datgen on: 2006 January 23, 14:41:05
thank you kaarinah, I didn't know about using ctrl+V, I only tried right-clicking  Roll Eyes

One day I will actually spend some time really learning how to use SimPE, for now though I usually manage to figure out how to do what I really want to do *laughs*  maybe later I will attempt getting rid of the extra grey hair although it dosen't really bother me much to have them there (I rarely even look in the elder hair bin)
1031  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Yet Another Hair Catagory Question - Datgen on: 2006 January 23, 01:06:31
SimPE really, really isn't that hard. You find Dewshine's post, keep it open, and copy-paste the numbers. Really. It's all copy-paste. You can pretend that the strings are random gibberish if you have a number phobia.

heh, SimPE wouldn't let me copy&paste, I had to type them all out...so what am I doing wrong? it would make the next batch I end up doing go alittle faster although I can now type the damn things in my sleep  Roll Eyes

Does it depend on which mode you start up in? I usually end up using the classic gui since its the first one my cursor gets to in my start menu *laughs*

*is just bin fixing* the rest is beyond my abilities atm  Wink
1032  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Headmaster Bug on: 2006 January 22, 20:59:42
Avie, Have you tried JMs Lot Debugger? it has a option for fixing the headmaster
1033  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OT - You know you're an internet geek when.... on: 2006 January 22, 20:45:33
phising is only as dangerous as you let it.  It involves unscrupulous individuals suckering you in.  If you refuse to get suckered then you are fine.

hehehe I always get a laugh when I get emails about my ebay and paypal accounts, specially the ones that imply my accounts will be closed unless I go do whatever at the provided link....I don't have accounts with either one! (I never even open them, the subject tells me enough to guess the rest)

bluecat, if you enter the url manually, make sure you don't mistype it or you could end up at a phising site, they like to set up shop at urls that are close to the real sites url.
1034  Ye Olde Simmes 2 Archives: Dead Creators / Ye Olde Syberspunke Archives / Re: Testers Wanted: Apologize Fix for Backasswardsness on: 2006 January 22, 08:44:58
rainbow, I did check my hacks and it turned out that there was no conflict *laughs*

Groom seems to work very oddly, I tested with a married couple and the wife usually had it available after one backrub, yet the husband usually had to do a backrub twice to get it to show up... wonder if it's a bug or feature that makes it work so oddly  Roll Eyes

syberspunk, I love this hack! it works great and I so love seeing my sims apologize to another they have pissed off, without me telling them to  Cheesy
1035  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Am I on crack? on: 2006 January 22, 02:25:03
sara_dippity, JMs "enemiesaccumulate" might do that, have you tried it?
That was it. Found it. Fucking bald.

cool, glad I remembered it  Cheesy

as for your now bald son *nearly falls off her chair laughing* *cough* sorry ahhh...did they explain why he was suddenly bald? reminds of the time my daughter decided to give herself a haircut  Roll Eyes
1036  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: All three challenges at once. on: 2006 January 21, 23:51:12
O another chapter to read Yay!

LOL sorry, I didn't check this thread again Grin I am sure I got her hair from Peggy's Sims. I think I got the recolour from MTS2 though. Wink

Thanks Emma! downloaded it and a bunch of her other free hair (and drooled over her newest members only hair *crys* ) I'll check mts2 for recolors later  Grin
of course now I have more bin fixing to do *laughs*

1039  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New Open for Busioness Video 1/05/05 on: 2006 January 20, 23:46:14
pre-orders get shipped on Feb 28, I believe
1040  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New Open for Busioness Video 1/05/05 on: 2006 January 20, 22:31:07
seemed like a typical chat,

some questions were repeated,
some questions were really stupid
very few good questions and answers

always makes me wonder what questions were asked that got nixed...

apparently woohooing in the elevators will be a bit risky (death wise) and knowing we will be able to hire our other sims is cool and I think I understood it right that we will be able to shop at home businesses.

Some of it sounds really good so I don't regret pre-ordering it from amazon.com
1041  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: I'm so proud of my little project I have to upload it here too... on: 2006 January 20, 22:03:20
I use TwoJeffs  want hacks to kill the want spam for shrubs and stuff but I like the idea of your paintings and will check them for stuff my hacks don't cover  Grin

1043  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: caffeine challenge..perhaps? on: 2006 January 20, 10:03:43
I don't use Macrotastics (although I have tried it) because I use InSIM to play with their needs, they are hungry/tired etc... when I want them to be! *laughs*

They do pretty much what I want, when I want, for as long as I want  Wink   (pretty much = because I like free will on)
1044  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Any Ideas? on: 2006 January 20, 09:14:12
I like it set at 0.1  Grin

I hope what Hegelian posted works for Talismana and others that only have the base game.

Thank you for this one and the dormie assignment fix!  Cheesy

it's very annoying when they bitch about 1 computer thats in use when theres 5 others right there that aren't being used  Roll Eyes
1046  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Now begins a lesson in pain... on: 2006 January 19, 13:33:46
thanks ZZ  Smiley
1047  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hack Request: A plastic surgery machine that changes genetics on: 2006 January 19, 13:00:09
I agree, Paysites are evil and SimPE is free and isn't that hard to use, specially when you can follow a tutorial with pictures like the one at mts2.

I certainly can't afford to pay for custom Sims 2 stuff/programs when I already have to save up the money for the EPs. At times it is reeeeeeeeeeeeeally tempting to pay for a month at a site like tsr to get some of the really nice hair I've been seeing lately but that would mean not getting that "insert current whatever" that my 12 year old daughter needs for school and she always needs something  Roll Eyes
1048  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: mike inside on: 2006 January 19, 12:06:56
I just added a bunch to mine  Roll Eyes

I asked myself why I keep typing them all out when I don't have to, granted some I don't use much but some I hardly use (like the dorm tools one) because I can't remember the exact spelling and/or don't feel like typing it *laughs*

I'm curious as to why Kingdom uses a "globalStartup.cheat" rather then the usual "userstartup.cheat", whats the difference? (other then where you stick the file)
1049  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: STOP ASKING TO BE READ TOO! on: 2006 January 19, 09:42:11
Let's see. . .I thought there was a hack that did something sortof like what you're asking for, hummmm, (looks through my hacks folder)  I have one called "NoAutonomyReadTo.package."  I think I got it from Two Jeffs, but it could have been Inge's.  I'm so sorry not to give the correct person the credit, guys, I just forget where I download stuff.  Sad

thats one of Inges and it's one I'm very happy to have even if it dosen't stop the kids from asking to be read to. Usually I keep them all busy enough so the kids rarely get a chance to ask  Wink

I perfer free will on...
1050  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Zombies on: 2006 January 19, 05:20:03
I've had Uni since it came out and I have never made a zombie, have no plans to either...

same for Nightlife except I keep thinking about letting one of my sims become a vampire but still haven't done it  Roll Eyes

I only had a couple aliens and they didn't live long, until I found out how to make default skintone replacements *just isn't wild about That shade of green* course I also have a better looking pollitech replacement. So although I don't currently have any aliens (recently restarted)  I have allowed some of my sims to have expensive telescopes so the chance is there.
