Why? It seemed to work perfectly fine for me.

Well, I'm pretty sure that it won't have any of the effects that the actual weather had, so I certainly see no harm in having it. I wouldn't mind if it actually did cause weather randomly, though, but it would probably be buggy like all the other ones that have been released.
253  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: can't clean up dishes on: 2006 August 24, 10:10:52
I don't know of any fixes for this problem, but I suppose you could use Pescado's stuck object remover if it really is stuck. However I remember hearing somewhere that messier Sims have to wait until the food spoils or something for them to be able to clean it up.

Windows XP allows you to extract files from .zip files, not .rar.

I've got a picture of it attached.

I don't know that there is. I would like this as well, though, even if it had to replace the meter for making the craftables.

I can find the make me smart option, what happened to it  Huh Huh Huh Huh

You simply need to type in boolprop testingcheatsenabled true cheat in the cheat box and hit enter. Then you just shift click on box and it should appear. If they already are smart "Make Me Stupid" will appear in its place.
258  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: fussing outside locked mime doors on: 2006 August 21, 14:29:27
Yes, well, only if you have the nouniprotect mod installed. Then they'll probably obsess over them until they pee themselves and pass out in it, along with a few other gems that come from Sims' inept ability to take care of themselves.
259  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: SimPe objects price limit on: 2006 August 17, 01:52:18
I've never even seen anything with double-digit aspiration value, let alone single digit. You would think it wouldn't have that much of an effect, otherwise.
260  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Does this look right? Scoring attraction on: 2006 August 16, 19:02:18
Thanks to the testingcheats and the ability to "fudge" the in-game astrology, many of my Sims have more personality points than they should. Even when they're born in game they have much more than they should. When I'm making Sims in CAS, I tend to gravitate more towards people with lower neat and playful scores while making them higher in the other areas. I don't really pay much attention to signs anyway, I normally just end up screwing around with traits blindly until I make one Sim have three bolts for the Sim I'm trying to find a mate for.
261  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Replacement of Ugly Servo Eyes. on: 2006 August 12, 06:24:02
These are very nice. One of the first things I noticed about Servo in game was how ugly his eye seemed to be. It looked far too much like the eyes that came with the game, which are not only for humans, but they generally made me want to vomit anyway. I'll be downloading them as soon as I get on my own PC at home.
262  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Face Template Replacements - Testers Wanted - INCOMPLETE Beta [9 July] on: 2006 August 11, 05:07:23
JM, for someone who describe themselves as someone who would stay committed, you definitely seem enthralled by the pospect of not being in a relationship anymore. Although I do have to agree with you, I'm sure Nailati actually cared for that person.

Anyway, if I could make some suggestions Nailati, could you make the female's eyes a bit more wide for #2? That and perhaps make the eyes a little longer on the male, with maybe thicker eyebrows and less gaunt cheeks? I hate to sound like I'm nit-picking and perhaps I'm just not used to the templates, but I think it may make it look a bit better, or at least more like the first one you linked to, which you may not be trying to replicate.

All in all I have to say that these are a major improvement over the Maxis defaults and am anxiously awaiting their completion
263  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: The Plague: A Detailed Study on: 2006 August 11, 01:00:34
I've actually had that happen to me too, Ancient. I think my Sim was in the Science career when it happened, but I don't remember all that well. An increase in the deadliness of diseases would definitely be appreciated, but not to the point that it was killing everybody that happened to contract the disease. Maybe if I let my Sims live like the pigs they are they might actually contract diseases, but at the moment they are all being micromnaged by me, so it's not like they really get exposed to much.
264  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help with customer loyalty starz on: 2006 August 09, 18:34:26
What exactly do you mean? That you have customers with all five stars filled up? There's no way to get any more stars off of them; all you could really do is hope for some new customers and try to increase their customer loyalty.

However, if you mean that even with new customers you can't increase their customer loyalty, I'm afraid I probably can't help you there. All I can say is that sometimes it takes awhile for customers to gain stars when you are dealing with a larger business, mostly because you can't focus on one customer.
265  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fitness levels on: 2006 August 08, 05:11:51
If only real life fitness were so easy to achieve.

My stomach is the bane of my fitness efforts. I'd be a size 2 if it weren't for my tummy. An entire month of (admittedly casual) exercising and it's still as flabby as ever.

Lucky sims... A few hours on the treadmill and poof!, washboard abs... Angry

Yes, but, if one Sim day was equivalent to one year, imagine how many weeks they must have been exercising for. That and they're entirely committed throughout the entire interaction.
266  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fitness levels on: 2006 August 07, 14:29:05
I've only had one Sim in my game get fat, ever. That was only because I had forced all the family members to eat breakfast together in the morning, whether they were hungry or not. Of course, I had just begun playing the game and ended up making him become fit anyway. Now with all the Snapdragons I have laying around my Sims only have to eat once a day, if that. With the hack that prevents Sims from overeating, I can definitely say that it's not much of a problem.

My Sims who get fat tend to be in the culinary track, or sometimes Science, because all those extra cooking points makes their food so rich.  Their kids tend to pile the weight on, too.  I've never had a Sim autonomously use an exercise machine though, unless it's a modified one, then the entire neighbourhood wants to use it.

I used to absolutely detest food, I can remember as a child wishing someone would invent a pill I could take every morning so I'd not have to eat.  I was particularly bad with meat and used to try to flush it down the toilet.  Even now I can't say that eating is at the top of my "Things I Like to Do" list, but I do enjoy Italian food.  I never realised that lack of interest in food was a Scorpio thing, but clearly it is.  As for sleeping, I put off going to bed until the very last minute, but then when I'm finally there it's almost impossible to get me out.  Luckily, I am one of those people who never put on weight, otherwise I would probably be fat as I never exercise (unless you count walking to the corner shop).

Even my Sims who are in the culinary track or have unbelievably high cooking skills remain terribly skinny. That and, as far as I know, Scorpio is seemingly the only sign that will willingly deprive themselves of something others seem to enjoy. Of course, there are many other aspects to astrology than just sun signs. Anyway, I best not derail this thread with all the crap I know about astrology.
267  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Lifetime Fears on: 2006 August 07, 03:24:21
From a gameplay perspective, LTF's would essentially create "broken" sims.  Much like the yammering at the official BBS for handicapped sims or the like, such requests overlook the fact that most players will simply discard such broken sims out of hand; just look at what happens to fully functional maxian sims that just happen to be ugly.  Sims who can't experience the fullness of gameplay tend to become headstones in short order.

And if you want permanent psychological scarring for your sims, I'm afraid you're barking up the wrong tree.  I admit it's strange that fufilling a depressed sims' self-destructive wants will bolster their self esteem and return them to functional citizens in short order, but do remember that this game sells itself as escapism.  Escapist little cartoon/sitcom characters tend not to, as a rule, have deep seated issues that can't be resolved by the end of an episode.

Some people play for escapism, yes, but some people torture Sims. I probably won't be making a permanently broken Sim that nobody likes, yes. However, that doesn't mean when I dislike a certain person I won't make their self-Sim and make their life quite hellish.

Although, I do admit that if you could eventually fix said Sims it would make the game a bit more challenging, and a bit more fun, at least to me.
268  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Lifetime Fears on: 2006 August 07, 01:25:12
This actually sounds like a good idea. That way my Sims can actually be traumatized. However, I think that they should have to remain permanently at the lowest aspiration level and the only way to undo it would be to achieve a lifetime want. Of course, I think that should only bring it to normal, and that achieving another lifetime want would make them be perma-plat.

A few other things I'd like would be so that nobody remembered when I Sim in terrible aspiration died, that they went with the Grim Reaper willingly if they died of old age, and something like a terrible looking tombstone that nobody would look after. Of course, I also think that there should be a significant toll on the mood when they go to work or school. A few of those may actually be in game, but I probably micro-manage them so much that they are hardly ever in red aspiration.
269  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Homework Problem on: 2006 July 17, 23:36:09
I was talking to Syberspunk when I requested the link for Dizzy's hack checking utility thing, but I managed to find it on my own. Although Bootsie seemingly found the answer to my problem, I suppose I don't need any help anymore. I think I may just end up removing InTeen entirely if it causes so many problems. Anyway, thanks for all the help, though.
270  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Homework Problem on: 2006 July 17, 21:16:44
The "homeworksometimesfasterfun_v1" hack was not present in my downloads folder after searching with S2PCI. I remember downloading it and I remember the file name, but it's not in there. I also remember downloading something that could cause Sims to not receive homework every day of the week, but I don't know if these would cause a conflict at that exact spot. Even after searching through all my hacks, it was not found in there. HCDU reveals no conflicts aside from those that work together and a bunch of crap conflicting with the kitten killer supposedly, but nothing homework related.

I, however, do not know the location of where I could download dizzy's tool. I've heard of it, but could you please tell me where I could find it?
271  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Homework Problem on: 2006 July 17, 18:06:37
No, I should hope not. It takes place on every lot with child or teen Sims, even the premade, so probably not.
272  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Homework Problem on: 2006 July 16, 20:44:11
I have no idea as to what may be causing this, but there's an error log generated whenever my teen and children Sims come home from school and put there homework wherever. I think that they jump after attempting to place it, but I'm not sure, as I haven't played with the testing cheats off for quite some time. Perhaps it is the work of the non-awesome, but after numerous searches for hacks, I have failed to find anything.

Error Log attached.

Some kind of lot size-customising tool in the neighbourhood view would be fantastic and even more so if we could have the option to purchase/auction off land according to building needs. If we can't sell off excess land perhaps because of the portals, just the option to buy and add-on would make all the difference. Undecided

I remember in The Sims Online you could actually do this. Of course it was as if you reserved a ton of space around the lot for when you could actually afford to increase it's size, but I suppose it's better than nothing. It's not like they gave you much of a choice as to what you were getting either, instead of customizable space you were given 8 sizes to choose from.

I am in awe at the awesomeness of this hack, but I have a slight concern. Can we use this on residential non-business lots to control walkbys, and if so, will it work properly with the Local Walkby hack?
275  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Lifetime Wants Based on Personality on: 2006 April 22, 05:41:21
Thanks for this. It brings a touch more realism to the game, as it gives Sims lifetime wants that they would suit them much better, rather than something based completely on a default aspiration you choose and then have it decided at random (or so it seems).
