1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Razor1911 release vs. Reloaded release on: 2009 May 27, 11:29:10
For some reason I automatically thought of the person showering in that pic as female, but after reading your response Marhis I took another look and realised it probably is a guy, it didn't even occur to me about the presence or lack of boobs, which makes perfect sense now you mention it.
2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Razor1911 release vs. Reloaded release on: 2009 May 27, 10:05:19
Is there a difference between the censor blur on both versions, does one cover more or less area than another?  The reason I ask is because someone posted a link to a screenshot of someone in a shower and the blur only covered a small area, unless that small blur is just for the shower.

3  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: First Cousins Once Removed and Second Cousins Treated as Family on: 2009 January 31, 21:44:18
It's always annoyed me the way some types of relatives aren't classed as relatives in the game, but I think it's the sort of thing that changes in acceptance levels depending on where you live.  I'll give your mod a whirl and let you know if anything odd happens, if nothing happens I might not post again for a while Smiley.  Cheers!
4  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: How did I bork beds in one apartment sublot?? (well, they're fixed now) on: 2009 January 16, 23:00:06
It has to be a mod that caused it, just go through every mod you have with a fine tooth comb and check for an update.  I would start with Maty & TJ first since they're the most regularly updated, but hopefully you've already updated the offending mod without realising and the problem is solved.  I've just had a bit of experience with hunting down possible causes, problem hunting in The Sims 2 is more frustrating than testing an mmo though because it takes so darn long to load with all my content.
5  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: How did I bork beds in one apartment sublot?? (well, they're fixed now) on: 2009 January 08, 08:54:48
Did you put any of those beds in the inventory?  I noticed recently that they will do that if you have put them in the inventory, you have to delete them and buy new ones or any time you mouse over them it throws bloody errors.  I don't think it was Smart Beds, as I recall I pulled all the Smart Bed mods on the off chance it was that, but it still happened.

Might be related to some other mod...possibly.  I haven't done much investigation. (AKA can't be arsed to reload my game 50 times at 5mins per load right now, maybe later  Cheesy)

Edited to add in response to Gastfyr last post..

At first I thought 'no can't be the apartment cheat', but thinking about it I did move the problem family from an apartment lot to a residential, it's worth looking into.  I'm not convinced it's apartment related however.

Edit 2..

Before I start, Gastfyr when you removed your mods did you replace those beds after restarting the game and prior to testing?  You should always start clean when testing or new results will be contaminated by old problems, sometimes items that are bugged by a mod/cc will remain bugged even after the offending item/mod is removed.

Generated a new TS2 folder in 'my documents', *some of Lord Darcy's bed changes remain the /c: directory, if the problem exists at this stage those would be pulled too and retested to rule out the mods themselves and the clean game.

*In between adding/removing beds I run the game for a few seconds and mouse around, assume this is always the case.

Test 1 - Belladonna Cove
Moved Goodie family into small house, placed beds in inventory, removed beds,  - no problems found.
Enabled testingcheats - reloaded lot, placed beds in inventory, removed beds,  - no problems found.

Test 2
Moved Goodie family to apartment with previous beds in inventory, removed beds, - no problems found
Evicted and moved Goodie family back to residential lot with same beds in inventory, wash/rinse/repeat. - no problems found.

Test 3
Exited game and added Lord Darcy MotiveBedFix to DL, loaded and enabled CC & turned off spam 'do you want to enable' crap, reloaded TS2 and enabled testing cheats, repeat of previous tests at normal residential and apartment lot - no problems found.

Test 4
boolProp aptsublotspecifictoolsdisabled false
placed the same beds, did the inventory dance, moved apt-resi-apt..rinse/repeat- no problems found

So, it's not the game and it's definitely not LDs motive fixes, which leaves 12,000+ suspect files to check, of course the first thing I should have done is checked to see if the problem was still happening in my game in the first place dur  Roll Eyes  See, I had whisky in my coffee the night it happened and I'm not even sure what I did, though I remember doing something, and vaguely remember testing the beds after reloading a few times, I might have solved it already  Grin

Final Edit:
Looks like I already fixed it in my game, typical.
6  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Familiars & Pet problems in AL/M&G on: 2009 January 08, 08:42:28
Cyd Roselands dog Porthos also shows up on the invite list for me, I have all EPs and stuff packs except M&G.  As far as I can tell (which isn't far because I suck at SimPe) Porthos is listed as a dog in SimPe SimBrowser overview.   I did try inviting him to the party but he didn't show up with the other guests.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to see a ghost? on: 2008 December 01, 02:56:23
I usually have the ghost hunter run around after the ghost and macro/procrastinate as the ghost stops, I don't have much experience with pet ghosts though, except the one cat that refused to scare anyone, ever.  I can't wait to get some ghost action again, and when I do I'm going to try out that teddy bear trick!

Professor, I think they go for the kids mostly because it's a lot like having someone new move in, ghosts don't like outsiders or when their spouse re-marries.  When a visitor dies on the lot they seem to be hateful too and tend to fixate on someone, often a youngster.  Dormie ghosts always seem to be angry as well.

I had terrible trouble with one family, about 5 or 6 generations in I think, those poor kids would get scared by one ghost after another and came close to death quite often, until I sent them over to the church cemetery built on the other end of the lot for a good old mourning session.  After that the ghosts didn't come out so much again and were less aggressive towards the children.

Best haunting ever was one of my early legacy families, Brandi LeTourneau's ghost would float around picking up dishes and washing them  Cheesy  I had a video of it up on the sims2 site for a few years.

Don't play without the tombstone fixes in though, bad things might happen.
8  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Proper Gardening Badge Building! on: 2008 December 01, 02:19:51
I don't think it's war room material since we're not even 100% sure it's all correct.  If someone were to actually find evidence in the code that would be a different matter.  I could swear there was a post somewhere that listed mechanical for the sewing badge instead of the creativity I found the other day, so it is more of a guideline than to be taken as fact.  Perhaps as people find out the truth behind it they will share.
9  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Badge building and Skills on: 2008 November 30, 23:47:29
There was no mention of the prima guide, I think if the posts had drawn their information directly from the guide they would have had a fully fleshed list.  It is likely that the various posters were just drawing on what they could remember from the guide.  This isn't written in stone and I've done no testing, it is very likely some is wrong but at least it gives us a place to start.

Until Pes mentioned it in another thread, I would never have guessed Charisma had anything to do with gardening, I used to think Cleaning skill might help because of raking leaves building cleaning skill, and the building of Nature when you study cleaning.  It does make sense when your sim has a gold badge and can talk to plants/trees though.

I don't get to play so much any more, a couple of evenings a month maybe, but perhaps someone who enjoys doing that sort of thing can find more solid facts for us. Smiley
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to see a ghost? on: 2008 November 28, 18:00:08
The ghost has to scare your sim to trigger the 'See Ghost' want.  If your cat is a happy ghost it probably won't scare them, you could try making it angry by kicking the tombstone or deleting it's favourite object, I'm not sure if pet ghosts work the same as sim ghosts in that way.

With sim ghosts they will make their way to their favourite object when they first come out at night and cheer at it, usually it's a bed they used a lot, though I once had a ghost do it with a toilet because I deleted his bed just before he died Cheesy

While we're on the subject of ghosts, on community lots I've been experiencing a bug with ghosts only coming out for about and hour or two at which point they all go *poof* at the same time, it's been happening since BV if I remember correctly and is unrelated to any mods or cc.

*Edited to add:
Be aware that if you make a ghost angry it will probably torment your sims for the rest of their lives until it is deleted.  You may be able to pacify it by having family members do a lot mourning at the grave, I've had some success with this with unruly ghosts (usually they've been dead a long time and get aggro with their descendants they never met) but I am uncertain if it will work for kicking of tombstones and the like.
11  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Badge building and Skills on: 2008 November 28, 17:45:08
I couldn't find a list of the skills for badges here at MATY, but there was some info at the BBS.  I've found a couple that mention personality so I added those as well, though I think it might just apply to building the skill easier rather than the badge.

OFB Badges

Cosmetology / Cleaning / Neat
Flower Arranging / Creativity / Playful
Cash Register / Logic / Serious
Restocking / Body / Active
Robotery / Mechanical
Sales / Charisma / Outgoing
Toy Making / Mechanical

Seasons Badges

Gardening / Charisma
Fishing / Mechanical

Freetime Badges

Pottery / Creativity
Sewing / Creativity

12  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Proper Gardening Badge Building! on: 2008 November 28, 17:15:02
I don't have permission, I could put it in Peasantry though.
13  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Proper Gardening Badge Building! on: 2008 November 27, 21:49:22
I remember that hydroponics garden gives a Cleaning skill not the Creativity you mentioned...does not it?

It has always been Creativity.

Charisma helps build gardening?  I haven't yet found a list of which skills help which of the fishing/gardening and later badges so this is good to know.

ETA:

Did some better searches and finally found the list I've been missing, on the bbs.  I've always known about some of them such as charisma for sales but didn't know about the rest.

im not sure but this patch is sposed to fix the mailbox problem right because i am still having the problem where when i go get the date note the mailbox changes and i cant get the note.
thank you for your help

Yes, it does fix the issue with the date note and mailbox.
Taken from the first post...

15  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 September 03, 14:52:22
Townies are autonomously using the grills on Downtown community lots.  I sent a Sim to the Similar Sights Sculpture Park for half a day(after rotating the rude shiny decorative building next door so it didn't clip into the lot) and two different townies served platters of hot dogs.  Of course none of them cleaned up empty plates.  Maybe this is a new "feature"?  The coffee cart there was being ignored, too. Shocked  I haven't tested whether this happens in other neighborhoods.  I supposed it could make the Three Lakes campground a stinkfest.

/snip

I noticed this too and I quite like it.  I'm pretty sure they did before AL but it abruptly stopped, perhaps because of a mod or a patch, it left the feature somewhat borked ,meaning your sim would stop in the middle of grilling because another townie had queued the serve (and then dropped it on reaching the other grill).

Has anybody noticed their sims jumping lifetime wants?

I did a completely fresh install before installing AL and using only the AL:DC, Nina Caliente had a LTW to be a top chef, I specifically remember it because I set her on the career path and had her do a lot of cooking studying ect.. in preparation for the higher levels.  After playing another lot and moving Dina out I returned to Ninas apartment to find her LTW had switched to Graduate 3 Children from college  Undecided

So far she is 1 of 3 I can 100% say I remember the aspiration of, except for Mortimer & Cassandra who both want to Reach Golden Anniversary, they did before I quit the game at least.  Nina did end up with family as a secondary aspiration, and Dina did get the red engaged memory doodad (2nd asp is Pleasure), I hope this isn't a symptom of the FT aspiration bug.
16  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Phone Hack v8.3 on: 2008 September 03, 14:18:23
Oh bugger! I should know that already, he would have been in work *head desk*.  Never mind then, nothing to see here Tongue  (Thanks magicmoon Kiss)
17  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Phone Hack v8.3 on: 2008 September 03, 00:36:57
Call/Targets isn't working like I remember, the sim hangs up straight away and says something like "I don't know anybody", they can place other calls normally.  I initiate the action by clicking the sim.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Do you visit the hobby lots? Are they useful? on: 2008 July 16, 17:32:00
The fact we cannot change the hobby lots makes them useless.  I take sims there when I'm bored and can't be bothered to make a new place.  I have to be really really bored though.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Beancounters - not just shilling, actual question needing tech advices on: 2008 June 10, 12:42:49
Chapter 1.2 is up on the exchange, I can't seem to find Chapter 1.3 though.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: This interruption brought to you by Fight Club on: 2008 May 08, 19:27:40
I think it might just be the RNG playing funny buggers, you get a dry season then suddenly you'll drown in burglaries.  It's the same with twins, gender ect.. Of course, when you really want it to happen, it probably won't.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: This interruption brought to you by Fight Club on: 2008 May 08, 17:55:44
That's an impressive fight, Zaza.  I can't remember the last time a burglar visited though, perhaps mine are on strike.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Advice on Installing BV after FT on: 2008 May 08, 17:51:42
I install in order out of habit, but I don't think the install order matters anymore, Assmitten.  TS1 used to be funny about it but with TS2 the latest EP takes over.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A Hack to Replace the Cheat on: 2008 May 08, 17:48:13
Single tile objects only. That is the rule. Anything else you do this to will malfunction various subtle ways.

Noted.

I usually use it for the plants and decorative items, it's nice to do it with chairs near a fireplace too.  I don't think they implemented corner stuff very well in TS2, it's more of a last minute thought than a feature really.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A Hack to Replace the Cheat on: 2008 May 08, 12:22:43
Some things do, but there may be odd animations, like sims walking through part of a sofa for example.  You can place a sofa and t.v on the same angle and they can still be used however.  Loungers work ok too.  It's all trial and error.

The reason your cheat isn't working is because you are forgetting the False part as someone else mentioned, add the cheat to your userStartup.cheat file found in the Config folder, that way it will be enabled as soon as the game starts, which saves a lot of frustration Smiley
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New bug? Some NPC's missing from PhoneBook on: 2008 April 24, 17:43:32
Have you tried call friends, or call targets?  Both of these are available using one of the hacks from this site.

I haven't played for a couple of weeks but I think the mail woman did get called by call friends, but my memory is a little hazy.  I just installed the patch so I'll try removing Paladins fix to see how it goes.
