1  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Sims4 is not gonna happen on here, is it? on: 2016 March 10, 00:53:08
Wow! I am really happy that Pescado got the game!
The Sims 4 is the only game I am playing right now because the load times are much better than Sims 3 for example (and if I want to spend an hour playing, I don't need to spend half the time waiting for things to load) and because I still haven't gotten the Sims 2 installed on Windows 10... As of right now I am not using any mods and I have encountered issues with the clock running and all sims being stuck for (sim) hours. I think it happens most often during club gatherings. Am I seeing the same issues JM is describing?
2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: EA store stuff in *.dbc format - a torrent on: 2010 January 26, 17:53:05
I was wondering if somebody had a problem with World Adventures hair and clothes not showing up after installing the store content.

Here is what happened in my game: I used the .dbc files from the torrent and put them only in the DCCache folder in My Documents. I made the Resource.cfg file point to that folder by adding
"..\..\DOCUME~1\LUSERNAME\MYDOCU~1\ELECTR~1\THESIM~1\DCCache" instead of "Mods/Packages/*/*.dbc". I loaded the game - all of the store content that I checked showed up fine, but the World Adventures hairs and clothes are missing from CAS.
If I remove "..\..\DOCUME~1\LUSERNAME\MYDOCU~1\ELECTR~1\THESIM~1\DCCache" from Resource.cfg the World Adventures hairs and clothes show up fine, but none of the store content works. Has anybody had the same problem? Do you know what might be causing this?

Thanks!

Edit: Ok, I think I was able to resolve the problem. I had the Resource.cfg file in both, the Sims 3 directory and the Sims 3 WA directory. I removed the one from the Sims 3 WA directory and everything shows up. My Mods folder is in the Sims 3 directory and Awesomemod also works.
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: EA store stuff in *.dbc format - a torrent on: 2009 December 29, 04:12:34
Thanks a lot for this!

The files work great for me, for the most part. The store items show up in buy mode and the hairs and clothes show up in CAS. All the store content that I have in saved games seems to show up fine too.

The only problem that I am having is that I don't see my saved games from Riverview on the Main Menu. I followed your instructions to copy Riverview.sims3pack in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Worlds folder, but after that I was not able to create a new Riverview neighborhood. Instead of the Riverview.sims3pack I copied a Riverview.world file in that directory and now I can create a new Riverview neigborhood, but I still don't see my Riverview saved games after a couple of restarts and clearing the Cache files from My Documents.

A couple of weeks ago I was having a problem with sims freezing. It turned out that the problem was a very old version of csmacd.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: WA made me update TS3 before installing, now game won't start! Help!! on: 2009 November 20, 06:18:20
Is it possible that the processor is too slow? The system requirements say 2.0 GHz for Windows XP.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Share pix / vidz of THE HORROR here on: 2009 June 01, 00:19:18
I started playing the pre-made households. The pictures below are from the family that lives in the nice modern looking house on the beach.

Seeing that the guy had "commitment issues" I had him break up:

Afterwords, still furious about the break up, the ex-wife (Morgana) started working towards meeting her LTW - to bring up 5 children to teenager:

Here is teaching the youngest one how to talk. In TS2 the parents used to teach toddlers to say "mommy", "daddy" and things like that, so I found this funny:

Also, hearing that Sims in TS3 are better at taking care of themselves I was a little surprised when one welcoming committee member passed out on the floor.

I am sorry about the half-walls, I am not into the habit of taking pictures though.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Story Progression Toggle: Is it borked? on: 2009 May 22, 23:31:57
I did the same test as Zazazu (but was unable to post earlier), so the information here may be redundant.
I had Story Progression unchecked, Free Will on High and life span - Long and played one CAS made sim for a week. I checked the thumbnails for all populated houses in the town at the start of the week and at the end of it. At the end of the week there were the following changes:
- Alto household: three new adults were added to the household (I really don't know how this happened. I opened the lot to try to figure it out, but couldn't).
- Goth household: + one toddler
- Ursine household: + one toddler
- Wan-Goddard household: + one baby
- Bunch household: + one child
- Keaton household: + one toddler + one baby

The following households were new (I am not sure if the sims come from the bin):
- Marin household: 3 adults
- Pagehousehold: 3 adults

There is something strange that I noticed in one of the first games that I played: I created a sim in CAS and moved her into a house. After a while I sent her to the library, where she met an exact copy of herself (the names were the same too). This probably happened because there was a copy of the sim in the sim bin (as by design), but is this supposed to happen?

8  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clean and fixed Uber-Megahood! FINISHED! on: 2009 March 14, 03:40:46
Thanks a lot for the hood!
Oberon's wants appeared when I sent him on a date (I tried the Lot Debugger, but for some reason it did not work). Everything else works really well.  Smiley
9  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clean and fixed Uber-Megahood! WORK IN PROGRESS! on: 2009 March 11, 03:33:26
OK, I went back into SimPE, opened Sim Relations on the left and found the relationship of Mortimer Goth towards Bella Goth to the right. I set the Relation Type to "Spouses" and unchecked Engaged and Steady. Then I found the relationship of Bella Goth towards Mortimer Goth and did the same. The option to Propose -> Marriage went away, however now Mortimer can Encourage Bella...
I rarely open SimPE and if I do I always follow instructions, so I am not sure what any of this means. I suspect that the option to Propose -> Marriage was present because the Engaged flag was on. Initially I only set the Relation Type to "Spouses" and this did not help.

Edit: Also, I deleted all business districts and the Sims from them ended up in the Bin as described earlier in the thread.
10  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clean and fixed Uber-Megahood! WORK IN PROGRESS! on: 2009 March 11, 00:55:44
I played the Megahood with your fixes this weekend. Thanks!
I have a question though - I moved Bella Goth in with the Goth family. The relationship panel for both, Mortimer and Bella, showed that they are married, but they still had the option to Propose -> Marriage. Is this supposed to happen?

I tried to build the house with octagon roofs, but found out that they don't work very well with the roof slope slider. Anyways, here is what I got (I would have posted it a week ago, but MATY would not load Sad  ):

front

back

floor plan 1st floor

kitchen

living

dining

floor plan 2nd floor

I have all EPs and SPs, and there should be no CC.

witch, this looks great. I have never been able to figure out how to use a lot of the items and colors that you have and it looks really nice!

I also like 1097 - I think I played it once a while ago.
The other one that I like is 211 Huckleberry Lane - it is not too big and has the garden and the lake.
15  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Pinstar's new Apocalypse challenge on: 2008 December 21, 00:18:29

Here's my thoughts:
  • Oceanography - no beach lots makes sense, but in a residential sense it could never be lifted, since you're not supposed to move your Apocalypse family.  They're supposed to stay on the same lot until the end of the challenge.
  • Architecture - it makes a lot of sense to move most of the Politics restrictions to Architecture.  However you'd have to come up with new restrictions for Politics.
  • Intelligence - "No school" couldn't be done, as you'd lose your 6s to the social worker.  "No telescopes" is already covered by Natural Science.  Maybe instead you could limit the skill points that 0s, 6s and 12s could earn to no more than 3 or 4 in each skill?  Another restriction could be that you can't ask other sims any of those ask questions - e.g. what is your job
  • Dance - one stereo (the cheap boom box) is allowed by the original rules, as this was the only way to train the first few body points.  AL introduced skipping for equipment-less body points, but if you only had up to FT (and no AL) I'm not sure how you would be able to train body as yoga isn't available until you have 3 or 4 body points.  You could move the restriction on better stereos from science to dance.
  • Entertainment - some of the Show Business restrictions could be moved to Entertainment, such as the restrictions on parties, outings and scored dates.  The vanity related restrictions (i.e. change appearance, change clothing, buy clothing, makeover chair) would stay with Show Business.

May be Politics can unlock the ability to select stuff with the Lifetime Aspiration points and second aspiration?
16  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of FAIL: December on: 2008 December 21, 00:15:12
I got the Christmas Tree from the Holiday Stuff pack. I created a separate account with no CC to do all the building because I wanted to make sure I don't accidentally include CC recolors or walls and floors.

Very nice makeovers this month. I really like witch's garden - it must have taken a lot of work.

Here is what I did. No CC. I have all EPs and SPs.
I started the makeover in Veronaville, so the lot is not flat.

There is a Christmas tree on the first floor:

18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: NEWS: WE CAN HAZ LEGAL THREATS? on: 2008 December 15, 07:45:37
This sucks!

I know that there are probably many very good arguments why, as Emma says, this is "not our problem". The problem is that if it ever gets to presenting these arguments, EA probably has more money to spend on lawyers than moreawesomethanyou. It probably won't get to that though.

I hope that the issue gets resolved.

I was wondering, has anybody ever seen this?

Why does it happen? Is it very bad?
Why is unnammed spelled with two m's? Cheesy
23  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: October on: 2008 October 18, 03:23:03
Earlier this month I wanted to build a more traditional type of house. I was not able to keep the platforms though. Here is what came out:

here is the first floor layout:

and the second:

You can download this house here:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/jnhhzqnnmjg/2CoverUpRd_Flat_house_kalina2.rar

This gave me an idea to build a castle. I kept the 6 levels, but was unable to incorporate the platforms. Anyways, here is what happened:

The layout of the living space in the castle is very similar to the one in the house (I got a little burnt out from building). The castle is not Awesomespec because there is no clearly defined main deck. Here is what I did level by level:
the pool and a small study are on level 1

level two has the kitchen, dining, living room and nursery:

level three has three bedrooms. From the master bedroom the Sims can go to a secret magic room:

level four has some expensive statues and a fountain

fifth and sixth levels with telescopes:

and some of the rooms:

living:

dining:

kitchen:

you can download the castle here:

Yecats, this looks great! The Ottomans family is really good for play testing. So many kids!!! Shocked
Actually I was working on a second re-make version that is also a castle. Seemed like a good way to use all 6 levels  Smiley

eevilcat, this house looks awesome!

I tried to make the house a little more comfortable for the Curious brothers and their alien babies to live in, but it still looks like a warehouse.
Here it is:

and the interior,
first floor:

second floor with a bedroom for everybody:

third floor:

here is the download link:

It could also be used as a uni house if the nursery is converted to an exercise room.
