Title: Aging Ghosts?
Post by: Magicmoon on 2008 October 19, 02:23:29
I see dead Sims on the 'age up' dialog.

Today I had a Sim turn elder. It is the first time I have seen the 'age up dialog'.  (I was disappointed that the dialog didn't appear for YA's aging to adult.) This Sim had a very long list of townies to choose from and several of them were dead dormies. The dorm that the ghosts occupy is currently empty of playables, but is still in place. 'Bring out your dead' was used while the playables still occupied the dorm. One was eaten by the cow plant on the SS lot and his grave is there.

What would happen if I accidentally age up one of these ghosts? I wasn't planning on aging up a Sim's best friends necessarily, but rather townies that more than one generation of my Sims know . I'm afraid that eventually I'll see a name on the list that has been there a long time and age him when he is already among the dead.

Is there any danger in this? If so, can the dead be removed from the list?

Danger? Probably not. Wise? Also probably not. I don't think horrible will happen if you do it, because a ghost is just a regular sim that happens to be flagged "Dead", an entirely reversible condition. But I also don't think doing so would be wise.
