Perhaps, hehe! Grin Hard, and on the eyes too.

Hard on the eyes but still worth looking at for a good pointing and laughing at. The entries are all so fabulously funny. Cheesy
27  Ye Olde Simmes 2 Archives: Dead Creators / Ye Olde Syberspunke Archives / Re: Testers Wanted: Less Autonomous College Assignment (Updated 4/11/2006) on: 2007 February 02, 11:25:02
It's great that the YA sims no longer whip out their assignments during a party, but now they all head to the bookcase for group research as soon as they walk through the door. It's making me mental.

Dumb party guests turning to group research because they can't do assignments with LACA installed was driving me crazy too. But if you do the routine of sending the YAs to final exams and putting them on macrotastics>college rampage upon their return, you can try this solution - pick up the bookcases and place them facing the wall to stop the stupid party behaviour. You can turn the bookcases back as and when your YAs need it. The stupid party guests may still try to grab the books off the shelves but at least they can't actually get to it.

It's not a foolproof solution since it requires you to remember to turn the bookcases back and forth, but at least it'll save you the annoyance of stupid party behaviour. Undecided

Right, thanks y'all. I'd hate to lose this very useful plugin.

The good news is that due to new data regarding the AgeData resource, it will be possible to fix the missing face and clothing bugs... somewhen. Roll Eyes

Er, I have no idea what that means. Embarrassed Missing face and clothing bugs? But I did find out it's not a good idea to dress a sim in formal clothing then use its template for surgery. I did it in once and found a few elder sims in my game had turned invisible. Luckily it can be fixed with another surgery.

I don't dare mess with the AgeData resource other than fixing the eye colour post-original SimPE surgery plugin's 'eyes only' option. The 'patient' sim's eye colour appears to have picked up the change but not in the mirror; you get them to change appearance and the image generated in the change appearance window still retained the old eye colour. I hope that made sense.

Does anyone know if this SimPE plugin can be used as is with the Pets EP or an update is required? I haven't been playing for a while and am still sorting stuffs out.
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: asking again on: 2006 September 24, 13:20:12
I did a search and can't find it in my downloads, and the recent patches haven't addressed the issue.  But I know it was there, and I thought somebody fixed it....

Perhaps you were acutally thinking about the 'asprecharge' hack? It stops visitors from autonomously using the lovetub (and wasting its charge) unless they've been asked to join.

How do I attach the file?

See the 'Additional Options...' right below the message-reply box when you reply to a post? Click on the 'Browse...' button, locate the .txt file shown in the error message, click 'Open' and it'll be attached to your reply when you click 'Post'.
33  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can't enter secret society lot on: 2006 July 10, 08:09:29
Does it affect all 3 students on the lot? Have you tried moving the Brights to another lot to see if the problem persists?

I remember somebody asked a similar question... here.
35  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Proposal Mood Requirements? on: 2006 July 08, 07:00:56
Talking about proposals, I had a weird glitch with the 'Surprise Engagement' interaction one time. The 2 sims in question had a 100/100 relationship and were in love with each other. Both rolled up a want to be engaged and married to each other while on a date downtown. I locked the wants, took them to Londonste and had the female propose 'surprise engagement' after placing their orders. Don't know if it's a bug with proposing at the table, but although he rejected the proposal, their wants (and the female's fear of getting rejected) were fulfilled. I made the male temporarily selectable and checked both their memories; he didn't remember being engaged, but his stats showed him as being engaged to the female anyway! The female on the other hand, instead of remembering the rejection, had the memory of getting engaged yet her relationships panel didn't reflect the engagement! Weird!
36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Locktiles on: 2006 July 04, 11:45:23
Some kind of lot size-customising tool in the neighbourhood view would be fantastic and even more so if we could have the option to purchase/auction off land according to building needs. If we can't sell off excess land perhaps because of the portals, just the option to buy and add-on would make all the difference. Undecided
37  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Locktiles on: 2006 July 01, 09:57:50
Could it be that you accidentally dragged the walls over the restricted spaces above those 2 squares? I get that problem only with custom roofs, when I didn't like how the auto ones look and tried placing some myself.

Not being able to build right to the edge sucked, and it sucks more with NL. I prefer to build lots with everything on it ("everything" meaning a small swimming pool and burial ground Tongue) so that my sims doesn't have to leave the house just to fulfill a want that won't go away. 3x3 lots used to be just nice but not anymore with NL and cars and garages, and 4x3 lots are just a tad too big.
38  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Locktiles on: 2006 July 01, 09:20:28
I wish there was a cheat to allow you to build foundation right to the edge of the lot though!

Wouldn't that be great indeed! Sometimes you just need that 2 extra tiles, but since you can't build walls and foundations right to the edge, it's either downsize the building or use a bigger lot. Undecided
39  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Locktiles on: 2006 July 01, 09:10:05
Yeah, the game doesn't allow you to build walls and foundations on the last 2 tiles at the edge of both sides and back of the lot. The locktiles cheat is just to enable placing of floor tiles outside the lot, but you can do that as well with the moveObjects cheat.
40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Rare Photobooth picture. Has this happened to anyone else? on: 2006 June 30, 13:03:37
Autonomous use of photo booths just seems to be so rare, I've only seen it one time while on a community lot. I was playing some other family and was about to bring them home when I saw Mortimer Goth getting into the photo booth. I waited for him to finish because I wanted to know what'll happen to the photo when sims I'm not controlling at the time use the photo booth. Cassandra was also hanging around the booth and got in after Mortimer. When I played the Goth's lot next, they each had a photo in their inventory. I think it's kinda neat, too bad it doesn't happen often.
41  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Downtownies get off the phone! on: 2006 June 24, 04:13:12
Maybe the phone hack got reset somehow?  I use that to get no phone calls, period.

Do your sims go on scored outings/dates though? Because mine do, and the phone hack doesn't seem to filter contact calls to only allow calls from sims not met, so the phone still rings with ringer off and my sims get innudated with recurring 'new contact' calls all night every night the whole sim week I played them for.

Usually, when I couldn't stand the ringing anymore, I'll get the ones whose cellphones weren't ringing to answer the handset (thanks but I really don't want the relationship boost Tongue), tell the caller whoever they were calling for wasn't available, and the same buggers will call again a few more times, then rinse and repeat every night for the rest of the week. I can't remember though, whether the number of 'new contact' calls were reduced if I had the sims whom the calls were meant for answer and reject the invitations. The phone rang so much, way too much that that's all I can remember. Tongue

Hate the maxis' double standards. Playables can't make outgoing calls after 2a.m. without repercussion (unless you want them to make some enemies) but they are ok with answering the after-2-in-the-morning incoming calls and nothing bad happen to their relationships with the callers. Huh I want the calls to stop is what I want, it'll be great if the phone hack has an option to also turn off contact calls for people who don't care for that. Undecided
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A few how-to questions about Uni on: 2006 June 20, 14:56:25
I have deleted colleges with no particular issues pre-OFB.  All that happens is that any sims in lots are moved out and will be waiting patiently in the uni sim bin for you.

I said I was going to generate a new game and try out the suggestions, but I got side-tracked and haven't gotten around to doing that yet. Tongue Tis' really good to know I don't have to move any pre-mades out from the lots manually. I've actually attempted a far more complicated and increasingly time-consuming way to get the pre-mades I want, since it was a new game I didn't care about. Glad I came here to seek help. Grin

As long as there is more than one university, you can delete one.

Well, now I know for sure I couldn't delete the college towns because I was very blind, what with the silly complicated way I was using to get the pre-mades from other colleges. I just couldn't for the life of me see where the hell the delete button was Roll Eyes. Not until the 2nd attempt at least, the one where I added only SSU and a custom college and only the custom one could be deleted. I was beginning to think it couldn't be done in-game. Again, very glad I asked about this. Grin

As far as cloning sims - if you do it through SimPE you have to make sure to make a clone of the clone in bodyshop, of else it will cause problems. After you have cloned, it is safe to delete the one you exported in SimPE.

I still use Bodyshop occasionally, and prefer to trash whatever I don't need/want anymore (trying to save myself from any confusion and loading time), hence all those can-I-delete-this-and-that questions. I could probably count on one hand how many times I've used CAS. I better just shut up now and give cloning a try before I bug anyone further with more questions. Lips sealed

Edit: Ok, so I've tried cloning and decided that's the method I'm going to use instead of adding and deleting colleges to get the pre-mades. Thanks so much everyone, for all the suggestions and tips. Smiley
43  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A few how-to questions about Uni on: 2006 June 18, 15:37:32
Oh, I thought you were describing some new method of cloning sims. I've searched the SimPE website, got a couple of links to tutorials on MTS2, I've read them before actually. What I'm still not clear about is whether the template sims can be deleted after I'm done Undecided. If they can be deleted, then I might use cloning, start a new game, attach ALT and make the sims I want, instead of attaching all 3 college towns, deleting them then do the cleaning up of character files.
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A few how-to questions about Uni on: 2006 June 18, 14:30:25
I just use the cloning option in simPE, then export it.  I stick them all in Saved Sims if I want to use them in game, then enter the game, and their faces should appear in CAS.

Cloning option? The one among the lists of actions available when you right-click on a sim description, or is it somewhere else? How do you export them? With sim surgery? Or did you mean extract? Sorry for all the questions, I've never really cloned a sim. Embarrassed
45  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A few how-to questions about Uni on: 2006 June 18, 14:04:44
Did you use simPE to clone your sim?

Well, after exporting the 'patient' sim to BS, is it ok to delete the templates after you are done? What happened with my sim surgery snafu was, I meant only to correct the size of the eyes of a female YA I had, not to make a clone-clone to play with. After making her eyes bigger, I deleted both the original templates (the one that was exported) and the edited copy, not knowing that the clone wasn't really a clone but was linked to the character file. Next time I loaded the lot, the female YA's thumbnail was still in the sim chooser but what's left of her was a plumbbob. I hope I'm making sense.

I think people have merged hoods, though I personally haven't tried doing that, my hoods soon get big enough without that kind of help!

There's the awesome Pleasantview, Strangetown & Veronaville Project by SaraMK in Peasantry, but I'm not ready to handle all 3 neighbourhoods at once.

I had all three universities attached to Pleasantview at one point, and deleted La Fiesta Tech with no problems.  It may be that the game won't let you delete the last pre-made Uni, but if you have two or more of the premades, you can delete any of them.

Thanks for the tip. I quit the game right after adding then deleting the custom one to see if there would be duplicate YA townies added and there were. I don't mind extra work like deleting excess sims, but if the game won't even let me delete the extra pre-made college towns, then I wasn't gonna waste any more of my time. I'll generate a fresh game later and try again.
46  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A few how-to questions about Uni on: 2006 June 18, 12:46:14
I'm not too sure on what to do with the cloning thing. Tried it once long time ago using sim surgery, exported the sim I wanted to give a makeover to but the experiment ended badly because I deleted the template from BS and sim went poof. Well, only the plumbob was left. Embarrassed

I don't think you can safely delete a college...

But it can be done? I've generated a new game, attached SSU then a custom college town, only the custom one can be deleted in game.

To be hones, once you've played them all, it dawns on you, the only difference is La fiesta is in the desert and has a lot of tatty houses!

LOL! Dunno about the tatty houses since I've only seen the LFT campus once, but it's the students I'm more interested in.
47  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / A few how-to questions about Uni on: 2006 June 18, 12:27:45
I've only ever played Pleasantview & Sim State University and would like a change of scenery. I like the pre-mades from SSU, am curious about the ones from La Fiesta Tech but want to make Academie Le Tour the neighbourhood college instead. So...

1) Is there a way to extract the pre-made YAs from SSU and LFT and merge them into ALT?

2) How do I delete a college attached to the neighbourhood?
48  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hello Me, Meet The Barista Me! on: 2006 June 13, 17:27:20
Did your sims happen to meet anyone new after being assigned to the bars? Mine occasionally get the Met Self memories after meeting someone new but I can't remember if the person they met received a memory of meeting my sims whenever this happen. Sometimes, I wasn't even aware of what had transpired until I looked in SimPE because some of the afflicted sims (usually of the Knowledge aspiration) didn't roll a want to befriend themselves. It can get a tad annoying to have to quit the game just to make the necessary corrections in SimPE to prevent the memory from getting passed on.

I have only the expansion packs (Uni, NL & OFB) and patches installed, my sims own only cellphones now and because this Met Self memories occur only after they met someone new, I'm thinking the game either got confused or couldn't process the new info fast enough. It's just a wild theory though, I didn't bother trying to reproduce (if it could even be reproduced) the seemingly random problem to see if it would still occur without hacks. Tongue
49  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Stuck Object Remover on: 2006 June 12, 08:58:26
I made the mistake of spawning the memory manager in the boolprop testing menu, will this also work on that?  Now my sims have this useless *talk option on their pie menu that I can't get rid of, so short of moving them out of the house I can't think of any way to get rid of it.

Somebody made the same mistake here.
50  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Put your own gnome back! on: 2006 June 11, 09:55:26
Yeah, he's quirky like that. Cheesy I don't know how wants work, but whenever sims rolled a I-want-to-be-friends-with-the-random-townie-who-just-harrassed-me want, you can be sure the other party most likely has the same want too, and I prefer to think it's their fault. Afterall, they would never have gotten the want if they've never met. Tongue
