Interesting bug?
« on: 2006 March 28, 12:14:44 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Hi there,
I found something interesting recently. Well maybe you guys know already but it's new to me.
I had one household with aging off. The girl from there moved into another Sim's house which I played with aging on. She brought 3.5 million Simoleons into the household! I know for sure she wasn't that rich before. I think it has something to do with the aging cheat.
Their budget has reduced to a reasonable amount after the installation of OFB but I'm not sure wether this might happen again if I repeat this method with other Sims because I didn't have the time to do so. Is this bug gone for good with OFB? I hope so.

Yep. It's a known bug. There's a fix here: http://mysite.verizon.net/aestudios/sims2/index.htm

Scroll down and look for the No lottery move in fix.

To expect Maxis to actually fix stuff would surely be too much?  Wink

Definitely not fixed with OFB, hence the SS thread on this topic.  I recently ended-up with a dorm worth over $6m because of that.  Got rid of it all and it's worth the same again.

well, i'm not getting this problem since i installed OFB. And i'm not using
the great jase's fix (i was using with nightlife only).
Anyway, i'm playing with a fresh neighborhood, and maybe this is why i''m not
having this millionaire funds showing up. Everything looks normal so far for me,
and i'm move in some downtownies to the main neighborhood and the funds
are been calculated exactly like is supposed to do ( a random value from 0 to 20.000) with
exceptions of special townies like Grand Vampires (always $50.380), Dating Slobs (always $14 lol) and
Mr Big and Date Diva (always $70.980). Those exceptions are in the code.

about the SS problem, i tested today and i did a research in the code to see
if i find something with this problem. The SS problem is not related with Move In
funds (inheritance controller). The funds of the SS lot is stored at a token in the Lot ("Lot Intern" memory
section in the neighborhood package inside SimPE). Every time that a secret lot is loaded the game will read this
lot token and get the funds, and every time that you leave the lot with a taxi/limo, the game will
remove this token and create another (not sure why, but maybe to see if money
was spent in furnitures).
Nothing is saying that if a sim leave the lot, must be removed the same amout that was added
with the currently sim group. And everytime that a sim visits the lot, the controller will read the token again
and add the funds again... sad.

It's a bug definitly, but is not related with Inheritance controller. It's a Secret Society controller bug.
just to clarify things here Smiley
