Actually, Mim, I do not believe you "folks" know what a community IS.
Double posting is acceptable in most parts of the Internet when a poster has two separate messages to deliver. Just because MATY has made up its own rules is neither here nor there, since most of the "regular" posters, or "rats" as I would prefer to call them, have deserted this ship. I still "meet" Simmers "out there" in the wider world, (and yes, Dorothy, there IS life outside Kansas!) who have been to MATY and never come back because they were so unpleasantly abused. I am no longer such a fragile flower, and Fer de Lance clearly is not; willing to fight back in whatever language!
Community is as community does. I come here because I have a great deal of respect for Pescado, his mods and a very few of the Simmers here. And because it makes me laugh. But I can see why many would choose not to return. You're stuck with me, though. Minor threats that are never carried out, for example banning or whatever, are simply the minor bullies trying to claim the power of their big brother/s. And about as helpful, as it looks as if the big brothers are laughing at the little ones. All the time I've been here, and much complained of, no-one ever banned me although I'm sure there have been petitions. I've been given an avatar, which is almost as good as the one I made myself, but since I can't be bothered to go to Second Life and remake it, it will do. I AM NOT AFRAID OF YOU. And neither is Fer de Lance! Up the Revolution!

Nope. I don't do ghosts much either. I've had the odd one pop up, but no more than that. Did have one that lived with his family, a long while back. Kim DotCom, it was... His daughter in law got the "Oh My Ghost" opportunity. And then he simply wouldn't go away. Was quite useful at times. Never got Simport to work. Not once. Not wine-making. I've done a lot of playing with the Transmogrification stuff, collecting gems and minerals, had a LOT of fun with that. But the wine-making seems a little lacking - as in, whatever quality of wine you make, if you store it in the basement, it will still gather value. And the challenges for that are so slow.

What your teeny underprivileged brain cells missed, Starler, is that ANYONE can flounce and bounce back, when they are in the mood. And that you have no way to stop them doing so, if they so wish. YOU do not have the control. By the way, welcome back FerDeLance.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Has TSR changed its coding?

Well, yes, but I have some TSR downloads that were free (someone bought me a couple of months of sub) and I want to install them, so they have not come via the Booty. And I don't want ANY TSR watermarks or any other crud in my game.
So my original question stands; has the "watermarking" that they used to add to files to supposedly prevent piracy, has this changed? As I said, I USED to be able to decrap TSR stuff, then turn it into packages and install. Now it won't do that. I have 1.67 and updated everything to that point.
I know it's a long shot asking for anything here but I was hoping maybe someone would be alive still.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Has TSR changed its coding?

I downloaded a while load of frocks by Ekinege from TSR tonight. I tried to decrapify them, which works alla time for other stuff, and then use Multi Installer to unzip them, gave me many errors and wouldn't let me use them as packages.
Is there some other secret magic I need to know? Has TSR changed its coding? Is the moon made of Stilton and does Ambular know?

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Columns help please
|
on: 2016 September 05, 09:57:59

Does any of you brilliant people know how columns change their size? This is not a meshing problem, I think. I have Luna's columns, which appear fine in my game at size 1. But at size 2 and 3 they simply revert back to the original size 1 base. Luna is long gone, and while I can open them up in Sims3PE, I cannot see any place to alter columns, any flag or anything. If it's possible I would love to fix them, at least make ONE of them usable at the taller sizes. I know I can expect no help from Jezzer but maybe someone here knows something?

Shh Necromancer man. I only just FOUND this thread.
Erwin, I don't do CAW but there is a little I can say.
That's a lovely world. Beats the current Bridgeport hands-down. I like the new skyscrapers! And the mansions are excellent, much more playable, I would say. Palace? Phew!
You might not like my style of decorating, tends to be pretty plain, mostly. Regards the black box buildings - I decorate those when I feel like it, ie for a purpose - if I want to have a social hub there, or maybe act out some stuff - town meetings in Town Hall, evening classes at the School. Otherwise IMHO they are fine as is, and not furnishing them most likely reduces lag?
Personally I like a lot of empty lots, (ideally at least 1 of the largest type for a Dynasty home, or some community lot) so that I can drop in a favourite lot, or make a new one. But also a good selection of built lots "sets" the style of the place, and you appear to have done that.
Great pictures! I like the "dockland" particularly.

I don't care how you feel, even decapitated, Jezzer. I feel GOOD!
Uninstalled and reinstalled all the EPs and SPs. Ran CCleaner and the SuperPatch, put in the FPS limiter and 3Booter and it now runs like a DREAM. Where I had FPS of up to 282!!! before it now runs at a very smooth 30-33, on a high graphics setting. Origin is HISTORY.
So, many thanks to those that helped with this request. My game is fixed and more thrilling stories are forthcoming!

Well Jezzer, if you had just decapitated yourself, you could answer the question for us, and indeed the whole world! But since you don't know the answer, we have to rely on Titlights. Honestly, you ought to be ashamed of your ignorance in this highly important matter!
Wait what? Jezzer decapitated himself? And I MISSED it? Bring back Madame Guillotine. * Sita gets out her knitting.

I wanted the updates: not being a programmer I couldn't see what they were but I reckon that with each iteration of Sims the final patch comes nearest to fixing what is still broken. Having got the patches meant I HAD to have the Origin thing. Since I bought my games, I have no issue with that, other than that it seems to have stopped the 3booter from controlling the FPS of the game.
I was asking how to get the 3booter to work WITH the final version of Sims 3. Doesn't seem particularly unreasonable to me; of course Jezzer will try to make fun to cover the fact that HE hasn't a clue. If you don't want to help me, fine, go boil your head. Strangely, I have the impression that there are still a few people here who DO know what they are talking about.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: WA China tomb bug
|

WA has been broken since it was first published, and later patches made it impossible to direct your Sim through the narrow passageways in the Pangu's Axe tomb. I would suggest using Teleport, either cheating or as a Martial Arts Skill. THEN the quest is possible. (Also I turn off ErrorTrap because that tends to instantly teleport the Sim back to BaseCamp every time he gets stuck, which is quite tedious).
If you don't want to complete the quest, just right click on it in the control panel, as for any opportunity. Many ARE broken now. The Adventure Board should then give you another quest.
