Title: Problem with names on sims
Post by: fairy on 2009 April 14, 06:05:36
Because I can't post anywhere else, I'm just going to put it here. I am reporting this bug with my game because I know this place is Awesome.

Anyway, what happened was, I installed another EP and this family in Riverblossom Hills were all renamed, and were completely different to what I had typed in Create-A-Sim!
Then, after getting frustrated, being non-Awesome, I deleted the family. Then I installed another EP, and two families in Strangetown were renamed! (Let me note, these were families all created by me, not any EAxis ones).
I'm not sure what to do, and thank you to anyone who gives me any guidance.  :)

Known bug. This is caused by a locale install issue. You need to restore your pre-EP install backups and run the relevant file in engrish.zip (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ts2/engrish.zip) for either US or UK, depending on whether you previously played your game with the 12-hr clock (US) or the 24-hr clock (UK). Changing your install locale will FUBAR your neighborhood, so you will have to reload it from backup.

Thank you very much! I will definitely do what you suggested, good thing I keep backups now, before I used to never used CC or hacks, and then I found the wonderful world of Mod The Sims 2 and MATY.
So now, before I ever install an expansion pack, I always back up. Thank you again, especially for all the hacks!

Now my game doesn't shit itself every time since I have hacks from MATY.

Edit: you untarded me?  :o

This is a sad development.

This is a sad development.

On the contrary, this is a joyous occasion. Let it be known that canned people are not doomed to a life of stupidity. There are times where repenting and changing your ways can lead to great things.

It's been slightly normal lately. If it acts up again, I suspect it'll get the bins again.

Oh. So either TardFairy is being baited, or it's been chosen as the replacement token tard that gets itself uncanned through good behavior, since we seem to have lost our other token uncanned tard.

The world makes some sense again.

Why does fairy's uncanning bother you so much SaraMK? Are you some sort of tardstalker?

Congrats fairy. Now don't fuck it up.

Thank you Emma, I was wondering the same. And I promise, I won't fuck up.

I'm just a little sad that it doesn't want to be my honorary sock anymore.  :-\

That, and also I'm hoping it's just being strung along until an anvil can be dropped on its head, because that would be amusing.

The whole sock thing is so old now, SMK.  Only you are continuing to raise it for discussions.  It is a fine thing when people rise from the cannery and rejoin "society".  However, there are certainly others on the forum whose recent behaviour has "gone the other way", so to speak, and might take Fairy's former spot as a retardolander some day.  Rejoice therefore.
