Elders getting engaged
« on: 2006 July 07, 17:31:27 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I had a situation in my Legacy where the founder, Tad, who was an elder was dating the Diva. She was desperate to get engaged to him, but he didn't have the option to propose. His wife was dead, and he was resurrected after he died himself. Is this a glitch, or can elders not marry adults?

I've not encountered the situation before - not really into playing May/December romances. He managed to move her into his house and get her pregnant with no problems, btw.

I think that sounds like the bug where the game still sees him as married to his dead wife.

There's a thread somewhere, lemme try to find it...

That works quite well with the narrative. I mean, she was floating around the lot every night he had his hussy there.  Wink

http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?topic=2307.0  Marriage, Post-Mortem.  It's not listed for OFB though.

There is an updated version of that one in the directors cut I think, which works fine with OFB now.

Well, I downloaded the director's cut 2 days ago when I installed OFB, so hmmmm, and I had the previous version of that fix in my game.

I had a similar problem with Cassie Goth and Darren Dreamer, and I ended up having to use SimPE to clear the married flags in their records.  The marriagepostmortem hack prevents the problem from happening, but it won't clear up sims who already have the 'married to a dead partner' problem.

I had a similar problem, but with two adults. I do have the marriage postmortem hack, Nightlife version -- I forgot to report that it didn't seem to be working for me. I didn't have any problems getting an adult and an elder to get engaged and married, but when the elder died, I had to go into SimPE to mark his widow as no longer married so she could marry her boyfriend.

Are you using the more recent versions? I added extra code to try to enforce that in the present edition.
