I too use house plans (sometimes).  Thanks for the link Ziggydoodle.  I use this:  http://www.coolhouseplans.com/

Yeah, I know it's not a bug, but I was worried one of them would place something on the "counter" (hob) and then not be able to use it or there'd be fire or ... well, you know how pesky these sims can be Wink

I d/l the simlogical hobs but was disappointed to see my sim treat it not only as a stove but as a countertop.  She put the cutting board on top of it because the only other counter had a dishwasher under it and they seem to not like that much either.  See?  This is why I like to torture my sims.  They are just asking for it!  Payback's a bitch, sim!   Grin

It apparently does exclude family, as I so rudely found out a couple days ago (don't you just want to kick a sim who keeps looking up at "you" with a face that says "you're a moron" when clearly HE is the moron?).  My sim had to go make a few more outside friends and then the plat kicked in.  finally.  And then I killed him.  So who got the last laugh there?   Cool

I know Monique's computer does a lot with careers ( http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=64137 ) but I'm not sure it'll do what you're wanting.  I remember the Sims1 hack but can't remember who made it.  Was it one of the Needful Things Yahoo groups?

But they can blow a guy's head off just to take their car in other games.  What's the difference?  I guess R rating vs. T rating.  Too bad EA/Maxis had to go for the bucks and keep it a T.

If you change have her change her appearance in the mirror, it will reset the thumbnail.

I did that and now the screenshot when the family is loading is correct, but several Simdays later, she's still going postal in the control panel/taskbar.  Hmm... perhaps it's just a starrlingesque issue  Undecided

Question:

My poor, lonely legacy sim finally found a mate.  Only problem is it's Dagmar and she's wearing that ugly uniform.  Despite buying her new clothes and the likes, I keep seeing her in her Postal uniform on the control pane and the pic when the family is loadingl.  Does that ever change?

Almost makes me want to nuke her and let him suffer.  Well, maybe not.
334  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Question for users of ATI drivers. on: 2006 May 11, 16:07:33
I was getting them too - and looked everywhere for a solution.  After seeing Microsheep's brilliant response  Roll Eyes and workaround (disable graphic driver... well... just... duh)  I just went back to my onboard graphics.  Everything works fine.  Yeah, I don't have all the bells and whistles but at least I don't get VPU errors and mysterious shut-downs anymore.
335  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dumb sim wants on: 2006 May 10, 16:07:36
I also just found out that although "nanny" doesn't come up in the list of services you can call, if you DO hire one of those nannies (I only wish them on my worst sims), it still works the old way where you can have them track your schedule.  You can't do that with just a friend or relative - you have to call them each time.  I think.  Got a case of mumble-brain today myself.  I may not make much sense.  Take my posts with a grain of salt.  or something.
336  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dumb sim wants on: 2006 May 09, 21:32:40
Ignoring the want would be my choice LOL.   However, there IS a new hack in testing at http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=154779&highlight=sitter  .  I've been trying it out and so far no problems.  It allows you to have granny over to babysit and makes her selectable until she goes home.

....  With Consort, sometimes you'll see him thinking about Woohoo with Contessa...

In Bluewater Village I keep getting Gilbert's mother worrying about her dead husband cheating on her.  I think she's one beer short of a six-pack.
338  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Survey at Official Site on: 2006 April 28, 17:34:06
Seriously, they are probably half way or more through EP 4 already so any ideas are unlikely to be implemented until EP 5

Yes! This is what bugs me about this survey.  I know they started the next EP weeks (months, even) before OFB was finished.  That's how it's done.  It always bugged me (at my old job) when I was still rushing to test the latest version of our software (pre-release... unlike TS2) and the techs were already bugging me to test the NEXT one!  Ugh.

So, we'll get what they give us, right?  ...or not   Tongue
