No, you don't have other responsibilities! (Sims won't go to work)

I am a mac user with only Uni and NL and many (and only) awesome hacks. I have had this problem for a long time and am finally fed up enough to try to get help.
Two parents. Both have carpools that arrive at 8 am. Mom has tons of maternity leave and I mean to keep her home.
Carpool arrives. Dad says, "I know I have other responsibilities..." and refuses to go to work. I wake up Mom to see if she will go. No dice, same dialog.
Fix work state appears as an option on the debugger for both parents and I tried it, but they both still refuse to approach the car and pull up the dialog.
I've also had it happen with twin teens and a mom who was a celebrity chef. All three refused to go to work at 2pm even though Mom was not going to go to work.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
The situation actually arises very infrequently in my game, but when it does...grrr. I really need Dad to go to work and get his promotion. If there's no fix, Mom will have popped by tomorrow and I guess he can call in sick today.

It does. It's an interrelated problem.
Process Denied:
If you have the Inteeminator and you are playing Veronaville or Strangetown you will have this problem widespread. If you do and are just spawn the biological clock and it will fix the problem.
