Invisible Magisplay Tray (w/o OFB?)
djslippyman:
i'll admit I don't have OFB and wasn't necessarily planning on getting it as I don't want to go through all the hacks to make sure they are compatible.
To use the one more slot packages on MTS you have to use objects or the Invisible Magisplay tray from MTS at http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=181208&c=1
Since its a recolor of an OFB object it won't be available to those with nighlife as myself. The key capabilities of the tray seem to be:
1) It's invisible (he changed "stdMatAlphaTestEnbled" to 0 or 1 in material definition on the recolor ).
2. It allows Sims to placed on top of it. One more slot pkg's work fine w/o the tray but won't hold sims. Therefore cool poses can't be done by placing sims on top of furniture. The tray's object properties allow sims to be placed on top. What properties of the object that allow that I do not know.
3. The tray can be placed on top of furniture.
4. It's thin and small in size.
Now since there's plenty of custom meshed objects I don't see why you'd have to go with an OFB recolor to get the same effect. Any object that works the same or that can be designed to have the same effect? If not what properties would need to be changed to allow this (in Simpe I'm assuming)?
Flamingo:
Hmm. If you want, I'd be willing to try to clone a base game object, attach the mesh and other associated crap that came with the magisplay tray, and see if that'd work.
If you are able to find an object similar to that, turning it invisible would be fairly easy.
djslippyman:
That would be great. I'm rather surprised that no one has tried a non OFB before. As for what object would work best I'm not sure. Maybe adapt a CC mesh for something similar... http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=58843&highlight=place+mats or maybe something as simple as a book (its a moderate size and can also be placed on furniture). A rug would be too big.
I'll brainstorm unless someone else has a good idea.
djslippyman:
Maybe an invisible version of this would work, its a little big but could work.

Haha, well, I tried my hand at altering the magisplay tray, but I wasn't awesome enough. I'm actually surprised I did as well as I did.
Anyway, are Sims placeable on those? If so, I could recolor them easily. Right now MTS2 is being a little annoying about downloading.
