Life Stories: No "Save", "Neighborhood", or "Quit" Options

Strangel:
Oye.. -sigh-
Okay, I've been playing this family pretty steadily for a couple days, someone got saved from death, I had no idea he's SUPPOSED to play chess and I forced an error on him and deleted him on seeing he was there.

Five hours later (rt).. still no options to close the game. Yes I understand I could just do a hard reboot but I'm wondering if there's a way to fix this. I tried "faking" a death (cheating someone to starvation, then having the son plead to the reaper) and I tried an "actual" death (spawned a death tester and click Death By Fright). After the fake death, grim floated over to the chess table and started to play, over and over. He lays out the pieces, moves one, clears the board. When I send someone over (or they join him autonomously) he interacts with them ONCE, then seems to get frozen. I have the sim quit the game, he goes back to his piece shuffle. There are no interaction options if I click on him.

I've just tried removing every possible game device from the lot, had another "fake" death, and grim gave back the loved one and vanished, but there's STILL no save, quit or Neighborhood Selector options. I'm going to leave the game paused for today, just in case there's something like a save shortcut. Blah.. It isn't even that I care about this lot in particular - it's Vincent's orphan's family if you saw what I did to Vincent - it's that I was enjoying my little experiment in genetics and re-playing it would be incredibly boring. lol

SaraMK:
I don't suppose you have any hacks installed that you let you re-enable saving? InSIM, lot debugger...?

Don't do a hard reboot -- bad for computer. Kill the task from the Task Manager instead (Alt-Tab out of the game).

Strangel:
Nope, wasn't smart enough to install anything before I started playing.. lol
I figured since this was just going to be a little diversion from my regular sim playing I'd skip all the cc and hacks.

KatEnigma:
There are hotkey shortcuts to save and quit.  I don't have my copy of the game handy, but there's a button somewhere in-game that brings up the list of them.

And the game automagically plays windowed- no need to shut down the computer or even go to task manager- just X it out.

Emma:
I think the quit command might be 'ALT' & 'Q'. Dunno if it gives you the option to save though. What happens if you press 'ESC'?
