Cyberpunk - William Gibson style
notveryawesome:
I hate to direct anyone toward the Exchange, but I've found some very nice space-themed lots there. I did numerous lot-searches using terms such as 'space,' 'alien,' 'pod,' 'borg,' etc - anything I could think of, really. There's a lot-designer named Xodos who does some really good ones, so you might want to search for his stuff, as well.

I love Philip K. Dick's writings, though I haven't watched the movies, suspected they'd piss me off.
I can't say I've read it all, but I've read most of his work - especially any short story I could get my hands on - even one published in a children's Sci-Fi anthology.
My favorite is "The Penultimate Truth"... can't see that one ever being made into a movie, though...
And I have seen all the movies except for the Spanish one based on Confessions of a Crap Artist and the new one, A Scanner Darkly - it never played in this town so have to wait for DVD.
I've been a sci-fi reading geek since I was about 10 years old...who remembers "The White Mountains"? That's what started it all for me.
Anyone gonna take me up on the "Perky Pat" story? Read it, you'll shudder and think twice next time you start the game.
witch:
Click, yes, Perky Pat - adults playing with dolls for real issues. Spooky. Survivors on a planet somewhere? Limited resources? Theme of living in the past - resentful teens - that's all I can remember, haven't read it for many years.
I started with all the Gollancz (sp?) books - the bright yellow covers. Asimov, Zelazny, Heinlein et al.
Ta NVA, I'll find some more lots.
I'm really short on clothing, what are good site names for cyberpunky, gothic, black leather type outfits? (Not necessarily whore-like, though some will be). I got some good ones from Booty but don't want to trawl through the lot.
sewinglady:
I download clothes from so many places... I did get some stuff at the obvious places: MTS2 and TSR.
I haven't been super excited about Peggy's clothes - her hair is to die for, her clothes, not so much.
hnote.net - male clothes - some more suited for the look you're after than others.
noukiesims...I think it's Ghanima that does the goth/leather/fetish stuff and some of it might be suitable.
The Sims Artists Union at www.byus.net - beware there are some entries with music - some more tolerable than others but some nice hair and some odd outfits which may work for you even though they made me raise some eyebrows.
and try simsecrets.biz - some of their jackets have the oddest shoulder shaping (it's the mesh) and they look a little futuristic on account of that.

I'm quite enjoying your Gaiman btw. I'll hafta come up with a pic of him in-game to put up somewhere :)
Please do!
I don't think anyone's shown me screenshots of any Sims I've made yet; that would be a treat.
