Snow gets stuck on not owned community lots
« on: 2007 April 08, 09:29:52 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I have now already two NOT OWNED community lots that got stuck with snow (after they had been visited by a sim in winter). There is now snow there even when the visiting sims come from a home lot on an extremely hot midsummer day (which is shown correctly in the seasons bar of the community lot), and the snow does not disappear even when they stay for hours.
If the lot is moved to the house bin, it is shown snowy too.
I always thought not owned community lots are totally reset when leaving?

a) Anyone made a similar observation? (I am talking about NOT OWNED lots, I know about the problem with owned community lots)
b) Any ideas of what is the cause and how it can be repaired besides from replacing the lot with the original one?

The following process works, but requires OFB, and will get the lot stuck in a particular Season, rather than tracking with the visitor's  seasons.

1. Have a Sim Buy the Lot.

2.  Have him visit the lot.

3. Place a Weather Machine.

4. Set the Weather Machine to "Snow." after a couple hours of snow, the snow level will alter. That's your signal that the game now realizes that there's snow on the lot.

5.  Shut off the snow.

6. Assuming that the temperature is warm enough, the snow will melt in  several more hours.

7. Sell the lot back to the community and go home. The lot will remain stuck in whatever Season it was  when it was sold back, unfortunately.
