Installing EPs out of order

Is it critical to install Sims 2 EPs in the order they were released?  ???

Why do I read in places that EPs MUST be installed in the order they were released, will a big ball of fire explode on me if I do - or will it ruin my game? :-\

The Sims (original) had to be installed in order, IIRC.

The Sims 2, well, I recently added University then Pets to a Base / Nightlife / Open For Business & Seasons installation with no problems.

SaraMK:
Sims 2 EP's do not need to be installed in the "correct" order. Install them however you want.
