College student stuck at final exam

I have a college student who is stuck at his final exam and I continually get messages that say "Nathen has just missed his final exam.  Better not make a habit of this."  I''ll get about five of those in a row, but he never returns.  Has anyone else experienced this?  If so, is there a fix?

happened to me, I moved the students out of their house and in again and then it was OK.

Thanks, - that did the trick.  Although, when I moved the students back into the dorm, the sim who was stuck had less than one hour before his final exam and for some reason, the studying progress bar, or whatever you might want to call it, was empty and he ended up on academic probation.
