First NL bugs???
aussieone:
I just read Becnivonville's post at BBS and all I could think of was "Geez woman, you need a cup of tea and a good lie down!" ;D
What a self righteous attitude to have! Of course most people are going to have concerns about the new EP. Obviously, this thread here states that and I don't think a little bit of discussion between ourselves to voice our concerns and offer helpful tips to others hurts anyone.
Failing that, perhaps a night or two of lovin' from hubby might not go astray either?? :o

btw Ivy, I'm sorry, but I did not realise you started a thread in the Nighlife section.
It seems I have started a similar thread right above you.
well maybe they will all take notice now, lol
Eh, no worries, IMHO the more the merrier!
I think everyone should be posting everyday on the matter in some way or another. I do not want this to just slip away and pretend it didn't all happen...ya know?
:) :) :)

I fired off a reply to What's-her-face and several of the other "stop complaining and worship the ground Maxis walks on" posters. Here it is for those of you who don't want to wade through 90 responses:
"Okay folks, here's the deal:
To those of you who do not want to hear anyone say anything against the Mighty God Maxis, I have a suggestion: If you don't want to read the complaints, do not come into this thread. The title of this thread is very specific...what part of "This is a complaint thread" do you not understand?
We have the privilege to live in the good old US of A; or at least most of us do, and even those from other parts of the world who come visit this BBS are all protected under the First Amendment of our wonderful Constitution. We all have freedom of speech.
When you tell someone to stop complaining and stop talking out against Maxis, then you are practising censorship, pure and simple, simply because you don't want to hear any critical words against Maxis.
Get this through your heads: This is a consumer issue, the same as the University patch issue is. It is about demanding customer support for a possibly buggy game. I knew, and I think Twain and most of the other so-called complainers knew that there were gong to be issues with that cemetery lot. I think we will find out just how soon the issues will come out next week.
I also knew, as did Twain and other critics that the "Maxis-is-God-and-everybody-who-dares-to-speak-out-against-the-great-God-Maxis-and-worship-at-the-altar-of-Electronic-Arts-is-a-blasphemer" crowd would all come out and baa baa in sheer denial that Maxis could ever make an inferior product.
Notice that Twain is not telling anyone not to buy the game. Nor is anyone else on here who is complaining about potential bugs telling anyone else *not* to buy the game. Hey, it's your money. If you want to throw it down the drain, feel free to do so.
If you are perfectly satisfied with your expansion pack after you buy and install Nightlife on your computer please feel free to post it in the Nightlife section. If, after you have installed Nightlife, you find that you are having "issues" with the game, then by all means post a thread in the Nightlife section.
I would suggest to those of you who are planning on buying and installing the game next week, that you uninstall and resinstall The Sims 2 and the Sims 2 University from scratch, and then install Nightlife. Remove your downloads folder from the EA folder before uninstalling and reinstalling. After you've played the game "clean" for a period of time, then gradually reintroduce the custom content and/or whatever hacks you feel are necessary.
By the way....there is no reason why Maxis cannot release a list of the University "issues" that are allegedly fixed in Nightlife. The fact that they haven't put up such a news item makes me wonder if they did, in fact, not bother to fix any of the "issues" that are in University.
Either way, this section of the BBS should prove very interesting after Tuesday."

It takes that long for the security clearance check for the UPS/FedEx man to come back in, plus make his way all the way down into J.M.'s bunker 5 zillion feet underground.
