My sims can't make desserts

Well, they can make gelatin and crepes suzette, but no layer cake or baked alaska. I have no idea what's wrong, they have maxed cooking skill but still no layer cake.

Are you using the dorm stove? They don't have all the options like the others. You won't be able to make toaster pastries in them either.

Right, because the dorm stove doesn't have an oven, only a cooktop.

Maybe it could also be a custom stove based on the dorm stove.
