Romance Mod broken with NLp2

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

This may or may not be related to the teleporting babies.

Prior to this test, I had a new male child who was being reset fairly frequently.  He tried to get in the bath, and got reset to being outside the bath.  I sent him to bed to sleep, and he got reset around 4AM to being next to his bed, but not quite rested.  Interactions with objects like the child oven got interrupted in mid-animation.

The actual test was telling a joke to his sister.  Sometimes this would get cancelled before it executed.  If it succeeded, it would usually stop in mid-joke animation and reset to both standing.  If the joke completed, trying to tell a joke a second time never successfully completed.

If I have all my mods EXCEPT the Romance Mod installed, the joke doesn't get cancelled, and I have no trouble completing two jokes in a row.  If I delete everything and place ONLY the Romance Mod in the downloads folder, I get the behavior described above.

I only reinstalled the Romance Mod recently, on reading that it seemed to work with NL after all.  Since I installed the 2nd NL patch not long before, it's uncertain whether it's patch related or not.

Hm...maybe you should run the game in debug mode with the romance mod installed and send any error logs to JM so he can check it out.

It's not clear to me how you obtain error logs.

Start up the game, enter a lot, press Ctrl+Shift+c, type in boolprop testingCheatsEnabled true, let the game run. If an error occurs, a popup message will show up stating "An error has occured on blahblahblah. The error log will be saved at...". Note down that directory and the name of the error log. The message will show three options: reset, delete, cancel(I think). Click on reset. Now, exit the game, head for the directory you noted down and find the file that was created. Send that to JM.

Got it.  I know zero about the Sims language, but if I'd seen this in C++, I'd guess it was a stack error with the wrong number of parameters pushed.  It appears to be checking something abstract (phone emergency - medical?) when it's supposed to be checking one Sim's attraction for another:

That BHAV is not altered in the presently-available Romance Mod, nor was its point of invocation a part of the Romance Mod, in its presently available form. Please update it and try again.

I have no idea why the timestamp is incorrect, though the build number seems to be current.  I suppose it's possible it's related to incorrect local system time when I installed the patch, but why would that matter?  You'd think it would be based on the patch's build time, not the local system time.

I got this behavior with the version of the romance mod dated 12/27/05 at 5:06 AM.  The version that's available here:

http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs/uni/hacks/romancemod.zip

Regardless of whether the BHAV is altered with the romance mod, I get this error with it installed, and don't get it if it's not installed.

Try downloading the NL Director's Cut, then just extract the romancemod into your downloads folder. If you're using a version meant only for the base game and Uni, then it probably would cause problems in your game!

I didn't think to look there.  Yeah, the NL Director's Cut version of the Romance Mod is dated 2/18/06 and is 2K larger than the older version.  I couldn't find the Romance Mod in the NL directory so I assumed the Uni version was the latest.

I made the same error, I thought it wasn't updated for NL... but there you go.

Thankyou for the advice, I also found it useful.

For male sim creations, check out my work on the InSimenator. For all my older works, check out my creations on MTS2.

*sigh* No, I am not male, why does everyone think that?
