Grouping like objects etc in Game
ZephyrZodiac:
I just have a folder in Downloads which I call Walls and floors, and the various subfolders go in that. If you have a large number of a particular type, you could put them into their own Collections set when you're in game, but I rarely bother as it takes so long to do. One thing I do do, though, is any walls and floors which still have the long file name, I check them out in SimPE to find out what they are, make sure I only have them once, then make a folder with the name on, like RedWall1, for example, so I know what they are, and put them in the folder for the site or the creator. (A site like SimsDesignSisters, which has several creators and I use their stuff a lot, I split up under the different creators, rather than just lumping them all together under the site.) As I said, once I've done all that (and it was quite a job to do when I first decided to sort out the jumble of files!) it's easy now to keep track of what I have, and mostly they stay in sets, or at least close together, and mostly the different creators/sites walls or floors can be found near to each other in the game.
Darkstormyeve:
Cool Zephy, that makes sense. Thanks.
I have abit of work ahead of me!
ZephyrZodiac:
Yes, it takes a while to do, but it saves hunting for ages looking for the wall you really want! Just wish it was as easy for bedlinens!
Darkstormyeve:
Yep, bedlinen and rugs.
ZephyrZodiac:
Rugs are a pain! But they do look nice! And unlike the floors which make rugs, you don't have to build your room around them to get them where you want them!
