I haven't tested it yet, so I do not know if it works.

No, it does not. It supposedly only works if you have a "friend" who let you download it from their account. It's just that par.nofate.me site that was mentioned earlier as not working.

The Sims 4 will definitely require Origin, and be as mod-unfriendly as possible. How else will EA be able to milk the most profitable franchise in its gaming library? I mean, it's not like restricting how customers install, access, and otherwise use a piece of purchased software lowers the number of sales or anything.
Truth be told, EA franchises pretty much milk themselves these days. EA pretty much attempted suicide with SimCity and NFS Rivals, yet they still sold. NFS Rivals even beat most of it's predecessors, games which weren't capped at 30 FPS, actually featured more than 15 cars and didn't start off with half an hour long tutorials.
People probably don't bother with the Sims 4 CAS demo cause... well it's just a demo for one, and it has pretty much been entirely "spoiled" already.
reggikko:
I got the demo today. Well, technically, Dylan got the demo. I made a kinda-sorta-Reggikkowinkle Sim. Needs MOAR tweaking, but I got tired of messing with it.
Madame Mim:
Reggikko - If you've got the demo maybe you can address some L&P that I'm more interested in - what does EA force you to install along with the 'game'? What kind of weird little back doors and spyware am I going to have to be wary of?
