I don't usually participate in these sorts of things, but I did actually put together an entry. However, 2 different entries look a lot like what I came up with independently... So now it would look like I ripped them off. :-\ Back to the drawing board, I guess!
Let's face it, there are a limited number of options for small houses in the sims. So what if some are similar? Your own use of accessories and colour etc will still make an individual house.

I'm impressed. There are lots of really good ideas here to steal be inspired by and use in future projects.
My thoughts exactly! I've been snatching up most of the entries.

It doesn't matter if they are similarly themed, the more the merrier! At least then we could have a few of the same feel for sub-sections within a neighbourhood.
Though this is making me want to crack out the world builder again.

Post it! Hell, I ripped someone off with my victorian house. There's only so much you can do in a small lot, so eventually similar ideas show up.

Well, I think maybe I'm disqualified anyway since my furnished price is so high (no imaginary bonus points for me), but here we go:
10x10 flat lot
Furnished: $22,376
Unfurnished: $11,341
(Original inspiration from www.loftcube.net)
I used the "Fresh, Modern Living Space" palette of peacock blue/white/grey with the same pops of color that were in the reference photo (black, green, & magenta/red). I have all EPs & SPs except the Katy Perry one. I did play test a little, so there shouldn't be any major routing issues.

Grandma Murphy's Piece of Quiet
This is a three bedroomed house on a 20x15 lot. There is one car parking space beside it. Furnished it is §19,779, unfurnished §15,641.
I used the fresh modern living space theme with the blue and two greys. Ahem, when I say 'used' I mean that if you're prepared to play 'Where's Wally' ('Waldo' for Americans), you will indeed find all three colours in each room, some more than once. See, when Grandma moved in she couldn't bear to rip out all the lovely wood panelling just for a competition on a forum, so I had to be inventive with wallpaper. My accent colour is orange which will be rather obvious.
I made a family to playtest and haven't found any difficulties, except maybe the dining chair on the far end, a sim only used it once and had the plate on her lap instead of on the table. Oddly enough the family I made bought the house and had about §1700 left, I don't know if famblies get more than §20K now?
So the story goes that Grandma finally found her 'piece of quiet' out in the suburbs, she was happy to retire and planned to spend her days trying new recipes and meeting the neighbours. Life was idyllic until the knock on her door one stormy night, Grandma's daughter Priscilla and Priscilla's four children were shivering on the porch with nowhere else to go. What else could a poor grandmother do but invite them all in to stay? Six people, one upstairs bathroom, will Grandma retain her sanity?
Download lot.
Download lot with Grandma and her fambly.
The children are twins, the toddlers are not supposed to be, but CAS won't let you make babbies. I was tempted to make Priscilla pregnant as well, but relented. :D
