Pets and travels

What happens when a single sim wants to travel, but has pets at home (horses, in particular)? Can I send him abroad without problems?
I got the pets EP together with SN, so I'm completely new to this stuff.

EA's not THAT bad. Your pets should be fine while traveling.

If everyone in your household leaves, a sitter calls and says they'll take care of your pet(s).

Alternatively if you want to take your companions with you, look up NRAAS' Traveler mod.
