Problem since update with build/buy mode

Although I am not sure if patches work differently for macs or not, are you able to get access to a PC? You can make backups of the patches using that downloader and then run them onto your mac maybe? I have no idea about how macs work and what restrictions there are, as I said, I avoid them.

I got the initial problem fixed, but now (my game has done this before) it pretty much reset. The save games are in my saves folder, but don't show up in the game and everything has been reverted to default settings. I tried copying the saves folder and removing the original and putting in the copy and that didn't work, and nothing else is working. Does anyone know why this happens?
Now that I think about it... I think it did this last time I patched also.

Not a clue. Mac isn't officially supported here because Pescado has neither a Mac nor access to a Mac shell. Your best hope is that another Mac user will finish reading "The Top Ten Bands to Sneer At This Week" on Pitchfork Media and log in here and see the issue you're having.

Okay thanks.
Well today I get to celebrate the 12th time this year I had to re-install!
I have no choice but to re-install because it's as if Sims creates a new invisible folder, and puts all the stuff it's telling me to remake in there. I made a new save game because someone on MTS was having the same problem and they told me to take out the EA folder in my documents so the game will make a new one, and it never happened, yet the old one didn't have the new save in it, nor did it make a new folder with the saved in it, yet the game is still recognizing the new save. I even searched my entire hard drive for the new save game and there's nothing to be found. It is the weirdest thing. ???
