New Patch 1.22/2.16/3.12/4.9/5.7/6.4/7.2/8.0
IAmTheRad:
Patch doesn't change shit about the expansions or stuff packs. EAxis is too lazy to fix them, even when Bridgeport has been bugged since release because of the routing issue. Seriously, it seems once EAxis releases an expansion they throw down one patch to fix what was broken at release then never look back at it.

So the cumulative patch updates all the EPs, then?
The new 1.22 patch didn't update my EPs or SP. I need to find a manual patch, wasted my time with that huge download.

The Pc patch only does base and Generations. The incrementals are only available for the Mac right now, which is a total WTF move BTW. Really Ea? Really? Or at least thats what the US site says.
From what I have read, the patch apparently really fucked the game on Macs, which is probably why they got the incrementals.

I am holding off until the Patcher from MTS gets updated (if it does) to work properly for the new EP and patches. At the moment it doesn't see the new patches, and the creator has indicated that there are problems with it due to the way EAxis changed things this time.
Given it is EAxis we are talking about, nothing really surprises me anymore, I don't even expect the EP/SPs and/or patches to be trouble free or to actually fix things like they should.
Roobs:
How bizzare that only the Mac version has the individual patches... I wonder if it's something to do with the change to "TS3W.exe"?
Roobs:
This is what I was wondering.
The cumulative patches never update most of the version numbering, for whatever reason, but it certainly updated the EPs (going by its progress report). It seems some of the other executables are "downgraded" to 29kb files now, and that incremental patches may not be necessary now we have One Exe to rule them all. This would certainly make the whole patching ordeal less ridiculous.
EDIT: Aha! It seems Generations/1.22 installs new executables in "The Sims 3\Game\Bin\Packs" (including a mysterious "TS3SP04.exe" added by 1.22) and that these are controlled by "TS3W.exe". Guess there really is only need for one patch from now on. There also appears to be a new authentication system in place.
