Horrible background noise Sims 3 Late Night

Gwill:
I have the same problem occasionally.  It starts with the sound of computer games, then something like a cartoon character laughing hysterically and bouncing noises, some music, a silly seductive male voice to the background of some romantic music, I can't remember the rest.  It's only a few seconds long, but it loops endlessly, plays at max volume and continues even when you pause the game or enter build mode.
It's usually coupled with all other sounds stopping and then rushing back in a tidal wave of noise several minutes later.

And *my* computer is most certainly not from wall-mart; it's hand crafted by a skilled computer technician with too much time on her hands.

I am getting this too. In my case it takes various forms - sometimes it seems to begin with a car journey and the sound is similar to that of driving. But it goes on for Sim hours, LONG after the Sim has arrived wherever, or I have even switched away from that Sim and the sound continues. It can stop suddenly or restart, as described above, at FULL volume, which is quite unpleasant. At other times there are the same ongoing television and radio noises as described, even with all electronics on the Lot switched off; at yet other times it seems to be simply random game sounds including Sim toddlers laughing, Sims talking, music.... It is really making the game virtually unplayable, at least with sound on.

As poster above, I have a good computer built by ditto. 8Gigs RAM, AMD Phenom quad-core chip, masses of HD space and degfragged regularly. I shut down most processes when loading Sims 3, except the antivirus and Firefox.

Something I tried, which so far seems to have made a difference, is to remove as many of the stereo's and fixed telephones from non-active houses.  I also reduced the number of high-rise night clubs I had added to the neighbourhood.  I predominately play one household, but keep a few others sacred so that I can mess with their life direction occasionally.  This seems to have helped reduce this problem.  I cannot say it has worked as the problem may resurface again.

I do recall so early sound issues being caused by multiple stereo's in non-active lots being on at the same time, or something like that.

It seems to be some EAxian bug that they either can't, or aren't interested in fixing.

Pelasope:
Twallan's Overwatch mod turns off stereos (and tvs) in non-active households, so it may help if inactive stereos are to blame. I use it and never have this problem, although that could be coincidence.

IIRC, Awesomemod does this, too.
