Gibberish, I tell you! GIBBERISH!

You may not understand the question, but you'll always have a macro for it.

This is patently true.

@Phthon: I didn't get the process either. There was something about merging the files into .dbc files? Wasn't that to bypass the 1.8 patch thing? People also said it makes the game load faster.

I'm just curious if that still needs to be done.

I don't believe so, Have a search there's lots of information around here.

The problem is that most of the information is outdated so I have no clue what is still concidered a "fix" or a proper workaround. I've followed links to tools that aren't even supported anymore. If it wasn't for MTS's FAQ I wouldn't have known about the change patch 1.12 had on dealing with mods and other custom contents.

It's easy to yell "search" when you already know where and what the information is and wether it's outdated or not.

Thanx anyways.

Bollox.

Just one more thing. The only reason one needs to decrapify store content is because the launcher breaks everything that isn't paid for which is why they don't show up in the game, is this correct? It still isn't clear to me what recompressor actually does.

I really don't want to decrapify (since you must decrapify all saved games and keep on decrapifiying from then on) and I don't want to extract the .sims3pack files into .package files.

So if I use a tool that substitutes the launcher and install the .sims3pack files with that instead there would be no need to use Pescado's tool right? I figured that a custom launcher wouldn't break the files that you haven't paid for and everything will show up just fine in game.

Of course if this doesn't work I will just follow the steps of putting everything in .dbc files rather than merging .package files in s3pe.

OmegaStarr:
The launcher doesn't break them. They don't install because YOU DIDN'T PAY FOR THEM. I decrap store stuff and have never had to decrap my save files. I believe that's only if you switch from one method to decrapping, since you may have store items used in your game already. making a few large package files is pretty much the same thing as making dbc files, so it really doesn't matter. And I do believe, once again, the decrap process just changes the item instance number so that the launcher just "reads" it as a normal sim pack instead of store content.
