AwesomeMod Updater (v2.8.3 - Updated 2013-10-16)

Minakie:
Today I got a message saying my AM was outdated and I should come here and install the latest version. Thing is, latest version is updated up to 1.66 and I'm still playing with 1.63 while I wait for all my mods to be updated for 1.66 so I'd like to know if this version of AM will still work for me or if I should ignore that message and keep playing with the AM version I currently have.

J. M. Pescado:
Eh, based on the relatively limited suite of changes, I'm inclined to suspect you could just plug in the 166 version, ignore the screaming, and it will run. I haven't tried it and I can't guarantee nothing would explode, but that's what *I* would do, because I'm like that.

rilla:
I did that and there was much screaming from EA about a core mismatch...haven't managed to launch the game yet but I don't think AM is the problem (I also dl-ed a million other things old and new that could be the culprit)

CrimsonNephilim:
Sorry to bother a thread that has been down for a while, but having a small issue with AM.

Been trying to play Sims 3 for the last few months, but when I go to launch AM, I get the following error:

Been trying to find a workaround or fix, but all I could find are posts saying to have the WGET command ignore certificates, but I have no idea how to do that.

Madame Mim:
It looks more like your problem is with the updater. Get rid of it and update manually.
